Living in Chicago, I’ve been spoiled by the karaōke there. I’m used to karaōke books the size of phone books and very lively crowds… DJ’s lacks both. I understand if a karaōke place might not have any Portishead or Republica. However, not having Easy Lover by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins is a SIN! At least I was able to get four songs in, and the drinks were really strong and only $ 2.50 each.

After passing TJ’s a few times I still thought it was a used car dealership with the full parking lot just about every time of day. Upon entering the location, I understood the reason for all the cars, the place was slammed packed. Within the many significantly differing variables of people, beer sports and karaōke lines, was a perfectly centralized table for panoramic views of people watching, a huge favorite past time of mine. There was a pool league and the players had almost no space to play their close bumper shout as it was located 1.2 feet from inside the front door-Monday nights are pool tournaments, I attended on a Saturday. The individuals that have the gumption to preform Karaōke are worth the trip to check some of them out. Most all put their heart into the singing and in some cases the dancing and add in the occasional accelerated arm flailing and occasional forward hip thrusting– As the big spender of the evening I ordered three rounds for three people and I may have cracked the $ 20.00 check threshold, tip not included. Speaking of which, tip well as the service is excellent and the bartenders are really hustling to get you what you need. Great drink specials: -$ 1.75 beers during happy hour 2 to 7 daily-(4 flat screen t.v.s)-$ 1.25 beer Tuesday’s 2 to 6 p.m. Food: All burgers are $ 3.50 and less, Hotdogs are $ 1.25– Salads, Soups, Mexican food(10 items) burritos-enchiladas, nachos and such and a heck of a lot od Fryer Foods(try the jalapeño ravioli)
