Looks like the Farmstead market is closed for good. Sad to see it go. Hopefully, the next owner can step it up a notch or two.

I’m so sad. I loved going here in the morning g to get my lunch for the day. Today is the 2nd time I’ve gone recently & even though they were supposed to be open nobody was there & doors were closed. Disappointing.

I was hoping for more from this place. I went here to check out their gluten free/dairy free selection and it wasn’t anything you can’t find at barons or even a regular grocery store. Also, most of the shelves were empty… i think i heard that they may be relocating? Bummer, it could be an awesome little market.

Wow. I had high hopes and expectations for this place. I feel bad since it is supposedly family run. Came in on a Sunday around noon. There wasn’t anyone in the store. I did see some people come in and then leave without getting anything. We got sandwiches which were pretty good. Otherwise, won’t be returning. Also– I went there to buy chicken– organic– but they didn’t have a meat section.

This place is cool but way too expensive. Its hard to justify spending that much money for food. They do have an ice cream parlor and a really cool deli with awesome sandwiches that aren’t too badly the priced. My favorite sandwich is the try tip or the nighthawk. I do have a fairly good beer selection and a nice outdoor seating area.

This place is ridiculous. Not only are there very few options that are actually healthy, but today I went to the deli which is now apparently ran separately from the main store. I purchased just under a pound of tuna salad. The price was 12.00!!! Last time I ship there! It’s one thing to pay more for healthy food… but this place is ridiculous! And big surprise – the store was empty!!!

Delia’s Deli gets 5 stars!!! I go in here all the time to get a sandwich, chips, and a drink for lunch. They usually have an assortment of sandwiches on various types of breads available for a quick purchase if you’re on the run, but I would highly recommend the build your own option. They have a variety of meats, cheeses, and breads to choose from and they’re all really delicious. The girl and gentleman who usually work behind the deli counter during my lunch trip are very friendly and I’ve never been unhappy with anything that I’ve ordered here. :) That being said, the grocery half of the market is a bit wanting. They have good quality products and their fruits and vegetables are top notch, but sometimes finding someone to ring you up is a mystery novel waiting to happen, ‘Rebekah J. and the Case of the Missing Cashier’. On a serious note, The Farmstead Market has too many great things to pass up. If you’re ever about to drive past, you should stop by and check it out.

The employees are great but the store in general needs help with keeping things in stock. I’ll have to try the other areas as far as Deli goes! It’s been awhile since they last changed it but from what I recall the food was good and prices were reasonable. Lunch time is pretty busy. You got locals from businesses nearby stopping in. But yes, not to happy about the grocery part of the store.

I will never go back again. I’ve tried to give them multiple chances to give good customer service but they fail EVERYTIME. No one ever knows what’s going on. I order something from Delias and it’s like I’m asking them to hike Mount Everest. They will not get any more of my business. DONE. The only reason they are getting 1 star is because I have to give at least 1 star to continue the post. I guess good customer service is a thing of the past.

Random lunch stop on our way down to San Diego. We had pulled off the freeway, were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite and lucked out with The Farmstead Market. Ended up ordering a few sandwiches and bowls of chili. It’s a cute little farmer market-esque building that offers a small grocery store, deli, ice cream and coffee. Loved the concept. We only purchased from the deli, so I can’t say much about the other products. The sandwiches were extremely flavorful, albeit a bit pricey. Our group ordered a tri-tip sandwich on their homemade jalapeño cheddar bread(yeah, it is spicy), pastrami on homemade onion bread(lots of dried onions), and ham sandwich on sourdough. All of the ingredients were fresh and sandwiches were enough to share at about $ 9 each. We also grabbed some specialty sodas, turkey chili(wish it came with cheese), and chips. The place looked like it was under construction, with several areas blocked off. Hopefully they will be finished soon and fully operational.

i worked in the deli department of this place for a month, and let me tell you, everything back there is local, fresh that morning, and extremely sanitary. The workers are few but dedicated, and the food is delicious and all handmade right there. The rest of the store needs a lot of work. The grocery isles are basically empty, we have so few employees that the customer service is often lacking, and yes, you have to check out separately for the meat counter, the deli, and the grocery store. They plan to put in a wine and cheese counter too-another separate check out. Farmstead, I love you, you were good to me, but you really need to fix this! People complain about it DAILY. I know all the store areas are leased out separately, so what? Put a button on the cash register to change checkouts! And do more advertising, and get more stuff in there! It has so much potential and I hate to see it all go down the drain. But really, the sandwiches from the deli are amazing. I’d recommend that part by itself.

What happened to this place? I have not been here in over a year. The first time, I thought it was a quaint market. However, this time I was disappointed by the lack of products on the shelves, dusty, & over-priced items. Kind of freaked out by the free chocolate samples. They were cut up on the counter near the registers. Eww!

Wow. Wow. Wow! This place was such a find for me, my son and our dog. We were looking for a place to have a snack on a patio since we were on an outing away from home, and we found so much more! The patio is like a beautiful garden sanctuary, with grape vines, veggie garden and just a really relaxing atmosphere. The market had amazing scratch made cookies and hard to fine but delicious drinks for kid and grown up alike. One of the vendors even insisted on giving our dog a giant dog bone treat! Super excited to come back again!

Beer selection is excellent! And that’s about all I saw… The store had way too many empty shelves. Flowers were sad and wilted.

It can be expensive depending on what your getting and I wouldnt recommend coming here if you’re looking for a specific item that you know can be hard to find. For instance, I was disappointed there was no arugula in the store the few times I’ve gone.

After reading an ad for this place I wanted to check it out since what the place sounded like on paper seemed to hold much promise. Actually going there was like having tickets to a Broadway show and when the curtain opens it’s just a lady in a mumu singing karaōke. Like other reviewers I noticed many holes in the shelves and produce department. I would not buy their Russet potatoes because they were green skinned. NOT good eats. Meat counter was barely populated, fish counter close to empty and the cheese shop I so looked forward to was not even up and running yet, although it is mentioned in the print advertising and the website. When I did go to check out three items at the cashier she couldn’t weight my Yukon Gold potatoes because… the scale didn’t work. Hmmmm. My wife and I ordered a tri-tip sandwich and the Italian cold cut sandwich. I liked mine but the tri-tip had a too sweet barbecue sauce and my wife said she would not order it again. This place seems to be presenting itself as a «locally sourced» organic, gluten-free, high end market like Whole Foods but it is NOWHERE close. High end pricing, but nothing there that makes me want to go back.

What’s going on with Farmstead? Now I have to «separate» my items in my basket and go over to a different line to check out«those» items??? When I get up to the second cashier, the tiny area that I have to lean over to pay kills my bad back I actually have to put my knee on the display case and lean over!!! To pay!!! what the heck is going on? And no explaintion? I asked is it two stores now? The response was well. Haha. Uh… Kinda… Huh huh. I supported the store from the beginning but it has just gone from bad to worse. I won’t be back till things change.

Lovely market w a juice bar, deli, olive bar and a vineyard type outdoor seating area. Trying their Nighthawk Sandwich: Turkey cream cheese avocado cranberry sauce cucumber romaine on squaw bread with a iced lime pomegranate green tea. My sandwich is huge! They carry variety of specialty craft beers and local and imported wines.

For what it is(farmer-owned grocer), I’ll give it 4.25 stars. But will round up on my «rating» to boost overall. There’s a nice outside patio for eating their deli and/or stand foods. Produce is a little smaller than I’d expect from a farmer-owned but then again if it were all farmed products, then it would just be a farmers’ market. Staff is friendly. Store is clean. Will definitely return. Oh, and their sausages looked fresher than most other grocers. Unfortunately, their grass-fed beef cut looked old but I’m giving them the benefit of doubt that the rest were fine and that’s why only one was left. As a response to some of the other reviews, obviously you should still check expiration dates. And it’s not a liquor store, so don’t be expecting low prices on alcohol. If you compare it to other grocers, then their price point is still competitive. Especially when you consider this to be more of a health foods store or «farmstead» as noted in their name. It’s almost a given that prices will be higher.

I like the deli selection. They have a great selection of gourmet salads and treats that you can take for a nice picnic at the park or beach. Or a handy meal at home. The rest of the market is a mix of a gourmet market and health food store. Whole grain and gluten free pastas, environmentally safe cleaning products, gourmet chocolate, healthy energy bars, a cheese cake, etc. But the prices fit right in with gourmet and healthfood store also. But I think the deli case is worth it.
