Food has always been bland here. Gave them a shot twice and same results. For some it maybe great because of the price but man o man they need better cooks. Food needs better preparation. Save your money and go somewhere else where you alt least finish the food.

Came here for the first time today — ordered tamales(chicken, pork and beef), tacos,(chicken and shrimp), and enchiladas(chicken). I am beyond disappointed. The guac was watered down and tasted like it was a few days old. Tamales were dry and reheated. You could tell they were reheated because two were warm and one of them was cold(not room temp but cold) and had likely come straight from the refrigerator. The only thing that was good and wasn’t dry was the chicken enchilada. Shrimp was over cooked too. Sorry but my family will not be coming here again.

Hefty sized burritos, Carnes Asada was my choice. Only down fall was the chicken was bland in the Quesadilla and Enchilada that i ordered.

Every time I go here for lunch it is delicious! The portions are generous, the beans and rice are authentic and the Salsa is awesome ! It’s a little hole in the wall type place not fancy at all. But who cares? The food is the ! Try it you will love it !

Ordered two plates to go and it was a whole hour ordeal. I even called in advanced. I was so ticked off by the attitudes I got and the long wait, that i left. I went through the drive through next door instead.

Favorite place ever! Don’t let the hole in the wall look make you skip. From the chips and salsa to the carne Asada… It’s all amazing!

Let me start by saying their food is so yummy & authentic. It’s always made fresh. We love their staff. Everytime we go in there, they immediately welcome us. Did I mention their carne asada sopes are the best?!

I will never ever come here again and I urge you to go elsewhere. I have been sitting here watching them(place is busy for taco Tuesday) and I legit just watched a dirty cook with long dirty fingernails pull a tub of cold refrigerated shredded beef from the fridge and dig into the dense mass of meat with his grubby fingernails to pry it loose. Then he threw it in the microwave. The carne asada also was just microwaved. This place is raunchy and disgusting. I threw the shredded beef tacos away after what I saw but actually tried the asada. Mistake. It was still cold and was dry and chewy and flavorless. This place induces my gag reflex.

The ladies there are so friendly and helpful. The food is good and the servings were huge… I’ve placed large and small orders and we’ve never had a problem each time… never dined there and have always ordered take out.

***3.5 Stars*** This is the type of neighborhood Mexican place that So. Cal has lost over past 15 yrs or so. Yes the décor may be Tijuana Fresh, but the staff is helpful and the food is surprisingly good. The restaurant is tucked away in the farthest corner of a very large complex. Its out of the way location is great for those on the run and need a place to regroup. Go with the Chile Relleno, Cheese enchiladas, or bean & cheese burrito.

This place has been around forever(over 15 years) it walking distance from my house. This is one my first choice in authentic mom and pop Mexican restaurants in Murrieta. Reasonable prices. friendly staff. I like their style of salsa as it has a more saucy consistency and their refried beans.

Pros — greeted right away, quick service Cons — obtusely corrected on my friend’s use of «salsa fresca» vs pico — okay… cause that was not necessary. Salsa was tomato juice, rolled tacos were served with unmelted cheese on top.

Lots of tomatoes on my beef taco which is a plus for me. Comes with fresh warm chips and salsa. Love the carrots which are just about right and not too soft or too spicy for my taste. There is outdoor seating and this location has been here for a long time. Definitely was one of my favorite spots when I was younger and they still provide great customer service and quality food. I noticed a lot of people ordering to go and packing their combo plates home because there is so much. Will be back again to try the combo plate.

Sorry El Gordito… I can’t give you raving reviews. Although, the Lady in the front was nice. Hence why you deserve at least a star for her. Food– I’ve never had sopes where it’s base was chopped up for me. Nor have I had carnitas that tasted like it was reheated… Where the fibers of the meat become hard and chewy as though it was over-microwaved? Sopes had very little meat. I didn’t feel like finishing my food anymore after realizing there wasn’t really much after digging through the mound of lettuce and my gf barely touched hers [chicken sopes]. Chips were on the stale side. Salsa bar consisted of a small counter with a medium container with ice in it then 2 small containers on top, one had salsa the other marinated carrots. Salsa was very… untraditional? By far nowhere close to true Mexican style salsa. Tasted as though one took a store bought bottle of salsa blended it added v8 juice threw in some chopped tomato and viola! I suggest the people who work here or own this place visit other Mexican food places. Possibly gain a little insight to what people would compare them to? Because it is a very very far stretch by comparison. Oh and they should work on closing the door… It’ll help with their flies– buzzing-around issue.

Linda is always awesome. She is quick, efficient, and super friendly. If you have any questions about the menu, or even items that might not be listed on the menu, don’t hesitate to ask her. The food here is what one would expect to get at a Mexican/American place, but each order is prepared with care, arrives hot, and with all of the trimmings(toppings) you could want. The red sauce is tomato-y, but it’s really fresh and light. It’s really good with the fresh chips that are complimentary with your order. If you’re feeling a bit gluttonous, I recommend trying the Asada Fries. Fries topped with pieces of steak, cheese, and if you like them — guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The burritos are very generously sized & filled. I really really wish that the cooks here would season all of the meats here; but overall the food is fresh tasting, and very filling, at good prices. We’ll be back!

This is one of the local hot spots that people just love. Not 10 minutes after we got our order there was a line out the door! First Impressions: This place isn’t much in the way of eye candy, but do not let the looks fool you. It is small, so don’t bring a big group, but about 4 people can nestle into a booth. The Service: The service was very kind, I was very pleased. They were sure to let us know right away about the Taco Tuesday two for one special. Our chips were kept full and everything I needed was brought or given to me quickly. The food: What I was most impressed with was actually their beans. They almost sneak up on you in how delicious they are. My friend made me taste his burrito and let me tell you I would never go here without getting those beans. The chicken taco was a bit too bland for me. Overall: I really liked this place. I would go back again in a heart beat!

I love this place! I live in Las Vegas but every time I visit my family in Murrieta, I HAVE to come here. No…they don’t wear gloves and they probably should. However, I’ve never had anything gross in my food or gotten sick from it. All I’ve ever gotten was FULL lol. I’m not a huge fan of beans in general but the beans and rice here are amazing. I dip a chip in the beans and dip it in the rice… it’s soooo good! I always get hard shell chicken tacos. Can’t comment on the other food items because I always order the same thing… but it’s always delicious!!! I’m waiting impatiently for my food right now: D I love you El Gordito!!!
