Their food is overpriced for the lack of quality and terrible service. The lady in the front is terribly rude and customer service skills do not exist. She acts as if you are a burden coming into the shop to order a meal. Won’t be coming back.

I don’t think it’s right that you have someone outside holding your company sign in this 100+ degree heat.

Is it really THAT difficult to understand that the person you hire to take orders at the front counter should be welcoming and kind?! That is the first impression of an order-at-the-counter type of place. Alvarado’s had a rude, uninterested employee at the front who got my order wrong. Received our food and it was terrible. My daughter’s cheese quesadilla was dripping in grease and my burrito was inedible. It had their«diabla sauce» on it and it was awful. I like spicy, it wasn’t that. It was just the worst flavor and the whole burrito was smothered in it. I won’t be giving Alvarado’s my business again. Waste of money!!!

Disappointed I ordered vegetarian nachos and when I got home there were no beans it’s possible me assuming that vegetarian nachos would include beans would be quite presumptuous of me but I called and asked if they would be willing to replace it with nachos that have been and they said yes when I arrived they had a cold plate of nachos for me so cold the nachos chips were soggy but they still offered it to me to replace the first order I was annoyed and disgusted at the same time to be honest that they would offer a cold plate of soggy nachos to replace the first order they got wrong so I asked them if they would make me a fresh plate of nachos with beans and they did with the little annoying but they did do it Kinda ruined my appetite at that point but it was the principle of the matter to get the order right I will not visit the place again

We went there several times already. The taste of the food is really good and the portions very filling. Service is very good and the place is clean. Definitely recommended.

Lady at the counter was rude, acting like she was annoyed by our business. The fries were severely soggy and lacking any flavor. The salsa taste like dirty grass was blended in with it and in my opinion salsa can make or break a taco shop. I do have to admit that my torta tasted good and my sons adobada tacos were full of meat and also had good flavor. But because of the above issues this will be the last time I give them any of my money. I presume I won’t have to wait long until they are out of business.

Most new restaurants have a few bugs to work out when they open. That’s why I’m going to give this place a second chance. The beef tacos were pretty bad, overcooked almost burnt. The bean and cheese Burrito and the sides, were great. Little things like napkins and water cups should be addressed. Three stars for now.

Excellent food. Their burritos are so tasty. We had the surf and turf burrito and the amount of shrimp and Asada is great. Love this place.

Double update! This place gave me food poisoning!!! I wish this place was good like jalapeños. I liked that place. But unfortunately it’s not. Worst 2 taco plate I’ve ever had from any Mexican restaurant. Tacos fell completely apart and are plane. Nothing special about it. There taco bowl taste bad and the taco shell is way to deep fried. There seafood burrito is just ok at best and the nachos are just ok as well. The only good thing that I personally liked was the salsa it was pretty good. But this is not a good Mexican restaurant. Not authentic at all. I’m adding more about this place cause im pissed now. It’s now 5 hrs after eating there and I just puked my brains out. This place just gave me food poisoning! DONOTEATTHERE!!!

They only take 10 mins and I call ahead so zero wait time. They give large portions and the food is always really good. I go often and I’m never disappointed! Also they’re a little cheaper than the other places around. Everyone who works there is very friendly and it’s super clean. I love their Diablo nachos :)

Not sure about this place, before then, they had the horchata and other selection drinks outside of the counter next to the fountain but now is behind the counter. I can’t tell if they pay extra, but I’m pretty sure chips are extra as well.

Awful! This locations had changed owners several times and it seems like the quality gets worse every time. Yuck! Everything was burnt tasting otherwise flavor was very bland! All I can say is yuck!

Tried this place for the first time last night and it was actually pretty good! I got the Azteca burrito and my hubs got the Shrimp burrito. Both very filling and tasty. I can’t speak for any of the other food yet, but I would definitely go back to try when I’m in the area.

So I decided to stop in when I saw their«Grand Opening» sign on the side of the road. I’m just going to lay down the facts about this new restaurant: First off, they should not be open yet. Their menu is ONTHEFLOOR making is so that you are unable to see the it past all of the people in front of you in line. This makes actually ordering your food VERY slow(I was 3rd in line and it literally took 15 minutes to actually get to the register). This wasn’t the only thing that made it slow. The cashier makes you repeat almost every word. Oh and the old menu is still up where their menu SHOULD be! This makes it so you think you know what you want until you get to the front of the line and actually see the menu on the floor which is FILLED with countless typos. When asked for payment. The cashier did not know how to work the machine. He kept putting in the option for me to put in MYCREDITCARDNUMBER. He did this multiple times before I showed him where the debit option was located. «It’s a new machine» was his excuse. Sure, buddy. The food felt like it was microwaved and was freezing cold at the center. I had to microwave it upon getting home and I live just down the street. Oh and everything is roughly 2 dollars more expensive than the old Jalepenos. This place is just down the street from my house and I would opt for driving farther to Taco Bell any day of the week.

We moved to the area and have been looking for a «go to» Mexican Food spot for a while now. Well… look no further! They have about 6 beers on tap and a number more in bottles. We had the rolled tacos, bean & cheese burrito, cheese quesadilla and California Burrito — all VERYGOOD! The service was very friendly as the cashier brought us out some chips before our food came. We actually pulled into the parking lot expecting a sit down restaurant considering the establishment is still new and there isn’t much info online(we realized this used to be called Jalapenos Mexican Grill); however in the end it felt like a sit down restaurant less the expensive menu and great service! We will be returning, and quite often!

best damn carnitas in southern california, hands down!!! All of their food is fantastic, but the carnitas is phenomenal. It’s not greasy whatsoever and doesn’t sit heavy in your stomach.

My fiancé and I have been here again since my last review. They did change names. They finally have some signage so now I know it is different. The food quality seems to have been raised and it’s been consistent. I still need to try some of their seafood options, because now they seem to specialize more on that.

We decided to give this place a try for a last minute dinner. Got the beef enchiladas and some tacos. Good food at a good price.

THEPRODIGALBURRITO IMPORTANTINFO!!! PLEASEREAD!!! OK… so I’m the one who posted the close up of the delicious looking carnitas burrito(with no fat anywhere throughout, I might add.) What you need to know is that this is the same food(same cook, same owner) as what was served at the SANTANA’S location on Winchester by the freeway. THEYMOVEDANDNOWOWNALVERADO’S, much to my excitement! Up until this past June, that place had bar none, the best Mexican food in the entire Temecula Valley, and I have been to every place.(Look at the pic and tell me I’m wrong) I am Hispanic, grew up near East L.A., and am a VERY picky eater. I eat out. It’s what I do. When it comes to FAST food in general I take three main things into account: food quality, food quantity, and how much you pay for what you get. That’s it! I don’t care as much about ambience(as long as it’s clean), and I don’t care as much about customer service(as long as they are not combative) As long as the food is good enough to make up for either of these shortcomings, I’m cool with it. Having said this, the quality and quantity you get from these guys is astounding. No one else even comes close around here. Maybe some other reviewers expected this to be Lawry’s, The Prime Rib, in terms of service or ambience? I’m not sure. All I know is I used to drive from past Red Hawk several times a week to eat at Santana’s before the food quality went down in June… consistent and worth it every time. Try their Carnitas, Carne Asada, Monster Burritos in particular and I think you’ll agree with me. My wife and I almost never like the same food, but Alverado’s is the rare gem that bucks the trend. Happy eating! P. S.DON’T BELIEVETHERIDICULOUSLYNEGATIVEREVIEWS. THEYMAYBEFROMDISGRUNTLEDCOMPETITORSWHOAREABOUTTOHAVETHEIRLUNCHESEATENBYALVERADO’S. JUSTSAYIN’…
