Awesome atmosphere & cuisine! We very much enjoyed the food & atmosphere! We look to return on our next trip to Myrtle Beach. Wish we had some where we are from.

Don’t bother setting a reservation. I will only eat here when it is an occasion for a friend or family. Last 3 times including today, we sat in the waiting area for an hour past our reservation. All members of our party were present each time.

Great restaurant! Tastes just like the one in Columbia that is always packed. No wait. Great server.

Miyabi has a special place in my heart. I lived in the MB/MI area for 9 years and this was my go to place for sushi. Year and after year they delivered fresh sushi at reasonable prices. Whenever I make it back to the beach I come here to indulge. The sushi side of the house does not take reservations and I cannot recommend them for a group larger than 6. They do offer a full bar in their lobby to take the pain out of waiting for a table. Parking is always ridiculous but there are some medical offices next door that you can park at. They have a great selection of specialty rolls and if you don’t see something you want just ask and they will make it for you. Not to be missed is their selection of appetizers, soups, and salads. All the love and care that goes into their sushi also goes into items like their beef tataki, agedashi tofu and vegetable tempura. To wash everything down they carry a nice selection of hot and cold sake, wine, and beer that includes Kirin, Sapporo, and Asahi. I judge all other sushi places to these guys and even after 13 years they are still the best. If you are in the area and looking for sushi look no further.

We’ve decided each of our trips to Myrtle Beach wouldn’t be complete without a visit to this fantastic restaurant! The food is amazing, the chefs are entertaining, and service is impeccable! Last time we had Batman cooking for us on the hibachi. He was great. This time we had Jayvin, and he was just as entertaining! Shane, one of the other helpful young men at the restaurant was one of the most pleasant and customer service friendly people I’ve had wait on me. He’s a keeper, Miyabi’s! A MUSTTRY!

I hate hibachi style cooking so this review is only for the Sushi Bar. Used to be THEBEST. This was easily a solid 5 star sushi bar. Not right now. Need to get their act together. I suspect that they will. I miss Joey. Myabi, you know what I’m talking about. Not all Sushi chef’s from Micronesia are created equal. Next time I expect a 5 star experience. For now i will be generous and give you 4 instead of 3.

Food is great, but everytime I book a reservation I still end up waiting an hour. Whats the point of having a reservation? Dont go here if you dont like to wait

We usually go to another Hibachi while in Myrtle Beach but we decided to try something different and I am so glad we did! What a nice place. Even though there was a long wait the waiting area/bar was nice to sit in and relax you had no idea how long you waited. Our cook was Batman(yes Batman) and he was great. Kept the kids entertained and made a delicious meal. I had the filet mignon, chicken and shrimp combo and it did not disappoint. We will now add this spot as a stop on all our trips to Myrtle beach!

My wife and I were really wanting something good on our last night of vacation. I looked at Unilocal and found this place. We were going to have Hibachi but when we entered the restaurant we were asked if we wanted sushi or hibachi. Since we could be instantly seated at the sushi bar we decided to have sushi. This turned out to be a very good decision. Edwin took good care of us with recommendations and prepared what was the best«sushi experience» we ever had. We got several different rolls, plus Spicy Tuna sashimi, and tuna carpaccio. Service at the sushi bar was attentive and the experience overall was wonderful.

Great staff, fantastic show for the kids(and adults). Kenneth was our chef, and he was very interactive with our 2 and 4 year olds, made sure everyone had anything they needed. Amy was our waitress and was very attentive and sweet. We will definitely be back.

Made reservations for 8:00pm. Arrived at 7:50. After waiting 40 min, we we were told reservations are not guaranteed during summer months. We were not given that information when we made our reservations earlier that day over the phone. After waiting an hour, the hostess seated a huge party of people that she knew who arrived after we did. When we asked the hostess why, we were told they arrived before us which was not true. We watched them come in the door about 15 minutes after we arrived. The hostess had no response when I told her that. She knew we caught her in a lie. We left.

We loved this place. Great service. Great food. Huge portions. We come back any time we are nearby. Go early and get the early bird special. It gets busy, but the wait is never long.

Great menu. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Cooks are fun and talented. Our meals were delicious. No hidden charges. Do the call ahead seating to avoid the long wait time.

Good entertainment. Better than Benihana. Food was good but not great. Too much rice and everything taste the same because they douse everything in soy sauce and tend to over cook it. Reasonably priced. Drinks are tasty but low on booze.

In comparison to hibachi I have had in other places, this was not the best, food-wise. But the experience was still fun, which is half of what you pay for at hibachi. The service was great. The food was ok. They serve very large helpings of rice to compensate for the small portions of meat/seafood. And our chef over-cooked the lobster & scallops. The kids had a great time though.

This is the Japanese hibachi restaurant that I judge all others by. I have dined here many times over the years and the quality does not wane. I recently took my children, and although my eldest son is very picky and does not particularly like Asian food, he though it was the greatest place he had ever been. This statement may have been helped by the fantastic fountain, the starry sky ceiling in the bar and the artwork scattered around, but he did say that their chicken strips were awesome. I, myself, love the quality of the steak and shrimp and the fried rice is always spot-on. If you are in the area and have the time and money, treat yourself to a fantastic dinner. You will thank me.

Warning do not go to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday! Just downgraded my review for this business after another disappointing evening here. This was a birthday celebration. The entire table had checked in 15 minutes before our reservations. A half-hour later we were still waiting patiently after two inquiries. Finally, with memories of last years ruined birthday party for my husband, I approach the front desk in defense of my friend for her birthday. I explained that this was the second ruined birthday celebration, and asked for Maria the same manager from a year ago. She said the table is not ready yet we are busy. After I expressed my anger from last year, she said she would try and rush things We were finally seated A half-hour after our reservation. If you check my previous review, you’ll understand my anger. Last year I thought the food was good, this year not so much. The soup was a broth with little flavor. The salad was okay. The shrimp appetizer that everyone receives was good. The huge Rice serving that is large enough to look like a brain that’s plopped on your plate is such a waste. It literally fils half of your plate. They obviously are trying to fill people before their measly portions. The taste of the food was good. I was originally a fan of this restaurant but I am done. Our service was terrible. There is a waiter that comes before the cook and his name was Angus. Although he was nice, he screwed quite a few things up including our orders, drinks, and forgetting to bring the birthday drums at the end. He had to be reminded about everything. John who was our cook but his presentation was much better last year. Maybe he was overworked but the show was definitely not as entertaining. It seems their service is going downhill. Also, FYI, it is quite noisy as it seems every other table is celebrating a birthday. The sound of drums was prevalent through the entire meal. Sad that they can’t get their act together to make the birthday special from the beginning.

Positives: our chef Darney was awesome. Food was tasty. Negatives: RUSHRUSHRUSH!!! We were seated at 8:30, out by 9:30, during which I ordered sushi before our chef got there, everyone else got their sushi except me. I inquired about it after 15⁄20 minutes and the waiter said he’d check on it for me, 20 minutes later he came back and apologized said it’s be a few more minutes and tried to convince me not to get it… asking me if I was sure I’d still want the rolls. Yes, yes waiter I still want the sushi I ordered. I took off one roll, 20 more minutes later he came back and asked me if I would like a to go box for the sushi that still hasn’t come out yet. I scoffed, and said«look, I understand that you guys are trying to get people in and out of here as quickly as possible but this is ridiculous!» He said he’d discount it half off(oooh! $ 5.45 off my bill! Yay!!!) which was something, but c’mon. Over all the food was good, had an entertaining hibachi chef, but expect to be in and out of there in about an hour and rushed out the door with no sushi.

What a great hibachi restaurant! My family and I have been coming to this spot since I was a kid. We’ve never had a bad experience here. Without any question, we chose this place for our entire family/friends to eat on Friday after thanksgiving. Yep, we had a reservation for 65+ people and the management was more than willing to help us execute this event. Customer Service — Awesome chefs with hilarious personalities and they put on a great show. The waiters are extremely attentive and kind. You would imagine things could get difficult for over 65 people – children included – but Maria(manager) and the kind staff were so helpful and happy to work with our large group. Food — growing up, I always stuck to the basics of chicken and rice. This time I ventured out and ordered Steak, shrimp and scallops. The portions are HUGE, which are great bc a little local secret: this food is even better the day after! My favorite hibachi spot. No debates. This is a must try!

We really enjoyed our experience here. Probably the best Asian styled grill cooking restaurant I’ve been to. Arrived an half-hour early than they opened but we were allowed entrance to the bar and sitting area which is just gorgeous. The décor is stunning and its comfortable to sit and chat with a drink. The chef for our dinner was funny and entertaining. Our waiter was very nice as well. I did notice the staff joking around a lot which was a little odd. Also, being seated at dinner with strangers is normally cool but not when they have sucky little kids yelling. The food was delicious though! Salad, soup, chicken and shrimp, fried rice, and frozen yogurt. It was worth the early-bird special price we paid for the whole experience. I would definitely return!
