After completing the son’s college commencement day with a walk around the beautiful campus, I was ready for frozen dessert. Upon announcing that a trip to DQ was in order, I was outvoted by students and new alumni in our group. That’s how I discovered that the frozen yogurt craze has finally made it western Kentucky. This location has familiar features: little tables and chairs in a minimalist but bright interior, lots of levers on the wall for the yogurt, topping bar, scale to weigh out and cash register to pay out run by a youngish student. It was more expensive than DQ, but I managed to convince myself that low-fat yogurt is healthier. Even if mine weighed in at 11 oz. And had not only ¼ cup of blueberries but also about the same amount of dark chocolate. No scolding. After all, it was my dinner.
