This is a greasy spoon diner. Good schnitzel. It was a bit too greasy. Also had the pie. Good, but dry and small. I’ve had better. The service was top notch. Always checking in and making sure our drinks were full. Over all it was a good experience. My only suggestion is to make sure they are open. They’ve got some crazy business hours.

This is a treasure in the Salt Lake Valley! Quick service with quality fare and an own that cares and inspects all the plates. Everything I have tried is excellent! We found this on Unilocal and have made it a mainstay for breakfast and lunch. Must try! Chili verde omelette– yum!!!

Came in on Saturday as my regular breakfast spot was closed. Got the egg sandwich with potatoes. It was ok, but not as much cheese as I would have liked, and the toasted bread was just ok. I prefer the sandwich at Pazzo Vita. The staff was very friendly and the service good.

Walked in, waited our turn to be seated. Was told it would be just a moment. Booths & tables available & waitresses staring out the window. 5 minutes later a group of 5 comes in & gets seated immediatly. Hmm, we wonder why and ask. Girl says its cause they have 5. I guess the girl didnt like the way we looked. We wont be going back due to the way we were treated by this employee who did not like the way we looked.

Went in for breakfast but found out the breakfast deal only goes until 11am. Got the french toast meal and an orange juice. Service was good despite being crazy busy, which is awesome. Very much a mom and pop store, the atmosphere was cozy and old comfort food style. The food was pretty good. Next time I’ll try some of those pies.

I was thrilled to finally try this place after reading good reviews about it for so many years. It filled the Penny Ann Café-sized hole in my heart, since that place has become way too crowded to go to on weekends. Five of us went for breakfast and didn’t have a wait at all. Our server was quick to bring us coffee and made sure to keep the refills coming. The food was tasty, plentiful, and very inexpensive. I had the oatmeal and toast, which was $ 3.99 total, and the oatmeal was a big hearty bowl, plus two full slices(four half-slices) of thick buttered toast with their homemade jelly. It was fantastic! Other breakfast companions had the spinach, gruyère, and bacon omelette and the Western omelette, both receiving rave reviews. We also appreciated that our specific request for crispy home fries was met, as many restaurants ignore us when we make such a request, serving us undercooked flimsy potatoes. There was some confusion when our orders were being brought to us, as one person got the wrong thing but was quickly discounted for it(after the original offer to remake it was made), and people’s requests for sides of toast/pancakes/etc took a few minutes to sort out. No complaints though, they ultimately got it down and were extremely friendly the whole time. Definitely plan to return again, especially to try to some pie!

What a wonderful breakfast place! The staff were all very friendly. I sat at the counter so I had the pleasure of watching all the hustle and bustle but was impressed how everyone worked together to get the food out, get people seated, fill coffee cups, etc. I got the French toast… yummy!

I’m in love with the breakfast menu. The eggs in the hole were heavenly and they give you a huge piece of ham.

Great spot. My wife and I went for breakfast, and everything tasted great. The real star of the show were the pancakes, the only real way to describe them was heavenly. If I had to pick a last meal it would definitely have to consist of a stack of those pancakes as tall as my two year old, and some of the in house made sausage. On top of the great food the service was excellent, even the(who I’m assuming is) owner/head chef came out to ask if everything was OK. When leaving I had left my phone on the table and he personally ran it out to my car even before I realized it was gone. I can’t wait to come back and try their prime rib, and the pie that was highly recommended by several of the really nice patrons around us. Overall the experience was fantastic, it felt less like going to a diner and more like going to a friend’s.

I went in fine, I left with a headache. I doubt I’ll ever return. I mean I was in the area and I was hungry. I thought I check this place out. I sit in a booth, and the waitress behind me is putting utensils and wrapping them and it was so noisy. All I hear is the sound of fork, knives and spoons pounding. And from the other side, you have the kitchen noise. Super loud. Plates hitting counters. Food was ok. I mean it’s a diner type. I had steak and eggs. Nothing too special. Also the waitress brings me a steak knife and it’s all wet like she just pulled it out of a sink filled with water. Service seemed a bit slow too. Had to go to the register to ask for my check.

Me and my wife go here from time to time, we used to work just around the corner. We call it the«old person dinner» :)(everyone that goes there is over 70), had to google it cuz I didnt know the real name to do this review. I think the old people are keeping this place a secret from us youngens. The food was really good and staff was friendly.

Tried this place today for the first time. I am so happy that I did. Such a great place. The food was amazing. Had breakfast today there. The owner was out and about and very involved with everything which is good and is rarely seen anymore. He was such a nice guy too. The service was amazing. The house made sausage was excellent. We will he going back for sure. Keep up the good work!

I have always seen this place but haven’t tried it out until one day my friend suggested to get brunch in a near by place. The place looked sorta like those diners in a movie where people go in for a quick cheap bite. They have a pie shelf on every table for you to put your slice of pie that you order in the beginning. I heard this is because their pies run out quickly. Their menu selection was very interesting, but in the end I went with their egg in a hole plate. It was two sour dough slice bread with two eggs in the middle. It came with two sides. I got hash brown and sausage patty. The food was delicious. It was a great brunch. The service itself wasn’t that great. Our server goes missing a lot, but I also overheard that they are understaff and the hostess didn’t show up. All in all, I might come back for the food and maybe try the pie out. We will see on my mood to see if I would like to try this place again.

This remains one of my favorite places to take clients for lunch. When they arrive they always think I’ve lost my mind taking them there, and I patiently wait for them to get their food and then thank me. They have a «pie shelf» and I’m often asked what it is for and my response is that they run out of pie, so if you want a slice you should order it at the beginning of your meal, stash it on the pie shelf so you can eat it when you are finished. I’ve had many of the items on the menu, but a few of my favorite are the Gruyère omelet and french toast. For lunch the BLT is delicious and I’ve also had meatloaf. But the real reason to go to to LFG is for the pie. It is some of the best in the valley and the Pecan is hands down my personal favorite. Jeff, the owner will often come out and ask how your meal is, which is something I personally love. The servers are all friendly and you get the feeling they’ve been working there a long time. Always in my regular rotation…

Food was great quite a bit of food for your buck. Services was a bit interesting. Our waitress made it feel like we were an inconvenience. Did even lift my arm up and my plate was being shoved under my arm in front of me. Probably a first and last for me.

I got to work 2 hours too early. SOGLAD I DID! I was running late to being early for work(oh the irony) and skipped breakfast. Had some time to burn and this place had great reviews. The food was delicious(spinach bacon and some fancy cheese I can’t recall omelette recommended by my server Kari). Coffee was great, and refilled readily. The rye toast came with some delicious home made jam. The most impressive part, was the service. Kari was friendly and kind, and the owner actually came out and chatted with me for a bit! He told me that everything in the place was made from scratch, and I don’t doubt it.

Just another good ol’ fashioned hole-in-the-wall family feeling greasy spoon! I mostly echo the reviews of those who came before me. Simple food, nothing too fancy smancy, decent prices, laid back feel, and a wait staff with personality. I think that was my favorite part actually. It’s the kind of place where you know the lady bringing you your food could spin some wild tales about the things she has seen, if’n you only had the time to listen. It is the kind of place where they call you«hun» and actually listen when you tell them that you don’t want bread on your sandwich. It’s a judgement free place, a happy place, a place out of a slower time in history. I haven’t had a chance to try the pie yet, but I look forward to it. Mayberry…Maybe…Maybe just a slice.

SLCUT — Their homemade jam with sourdough is delish and their fruit cream pies are phenomenal. Unfortunately we are not fans of the rest of their food. It’s okay. We finish what’s on our plates but I’ve been here 4 times ordered different things each time and the people I’ve been with we’ve all been underwhelmed. And I wouldn’t order what I had again(and neither would my husband). This last time the waiter upsold us on the fresh fruit(an extra $ for the substitution) and what arrived were melons(in winter) and they were hard as a rock and tasteless. My husband compared them to bland buffet fruit and this was after when asked what was her favorite the waitress went on and on about their fruit. Yeah I’m just going to say it: Don’t get their fruit. But their fruit cream pies really are divine. Go for that. In fact call ahead and order a whole pie. The fruit cream pies are fruit pies with a thick layer of cream on top and they are just so so so so so so tasty. If you are going for a meal order your slice of pie asap as they sell out FAST. Also I would go and eat their toast and jam again and again. I know it sounds like such a silly thing but it’s REALLY very good. On Sunday’s when other restaurants just have too long of a wait we’ve always been able to be seated here quickly. And this does not impact the review but since I like to know for myself, they do not have a changing table in the bathroom.
