This is a rather new festival to Murphys, so it has not yet reached it’s full potential, but boy does it have the potential! This fun new festival is being spear-headed by one of the local wineries with many of the Main St. business’ participating by way of setting up alters in their shops.(the book store had one to Shakespeare etc. etc.) Many people participate in the Catrina/Catrin costume contest held mid-day at the local theater(so cool to see them all walking around town all day!!) and in the evening they do a procession to a local cemetery to honor the dead. And there are usually a few different places to listen to live music, this year I’ve heard they’ll be having a great mariachi band! It is always fun to walk around Murphys eating and drinking your way through the day, and this event just makes it that much more fun and interesting! So if you are planning on coming to Murphys around the beginning of November(it’s held the first weekend usually, check their Facebook page ) then come for this event, and maybe even join in the costume contest!
