Pigtails & Crewcuts Haircuts for Kids

I have to say I was really nervous about taking my 15 month old here to get his first haircut because of the previous reviews… HOWEVER, they were GREAT! Becca was very nice and did a great job. Thank you!

Our first visit was a horrible experience. This was my daughter’s 1^st haircut and our first visit to this place. Of course my daughter was terrified and cried so I was pretty busy consoling her during the whole visit. I explicitly explained to the stylist how much I wanted to cut off my daughters hair, showed her a picture of the length on another child, and even showed her where on my child I wanted the length to fall. So she starts cutting while again I am trying to console my daughter. When I get to look at how much the stylist is cutting it is 4 inches shorter than I had explained. Not 2 inches but 4 inches. This is very infuriating due to the fact of how much I referenced where I wanted her length to fall. So after the cut the stylist advised to take her to the mirror to see the cut all around which I didn’t to ensure it was all even. We just stood there waiting on her to come back to take off the cape and brush any excess hair off my daughter and she never came back. I looked over and she was hanging out behind the checkout counter drinking her soda chit chatting with a coworker. So I took off the cape myself no big deal. Overall a terrible experience. The stylist really didn’t make any effort to help console my daughter except for giving her a sucker.

Took our son for his first haircut (18 months). Our stylist was Megan. We had such a great experience, we were both cringing at the thought of getting his curls cut off but we rolled the dice. Megan was so professional and was understanding of Mommy and Daddy’s fears. I realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but don’t let the negativity sway you. Give them a chance and form an opinion of your own.

This was hands down the worst hair cutting experience I have ever had. I took my 5 year old twins to get their FIRST hair cut in their life so we could donate to Locks of Love. They absolutely hacked their hair off and one of my twins ended up with hair two inches shorter than the other one. It would’ve kept getting shorter and shorter had I not told her to stop cutting. They literally just took the scissors and snipped straight across. Zero technique. No point cutting. No undercutting to help it lay right. I kid you not I could have done a better job. Stay away from this place, especially if you value your children’s hair bc they will end up looking like someone took a weed wacker to it. I’m ashamed to have to give this place even 1 star.

And that’s being generous.
Had 2 1030 appointments on a Saturday; was very surprised when I called on Friday and was able to get an appointment. Took it thinking it would get me in and out. Nope. Got there and had to sign in with all the walk ins; didn’t even have a place to designate if you are an appointment so I just put it next to my check in time. When asked if I had been helped, let them know I had an appointment and was told ok, we’ll get to you soon. 30 mins. later, my first child was called. Place only had 3 special «vehicle» chairs and my daughter went in an adult chair with a booster. The person barely wet her hair and spent 10 mins if that on her hair. No offer of a style or glitter. While waiting for my other child’s appointment, they skipped her and went to next person on list. When I mentioned something they apologized for over looking and then went to see the appt. and had entered the wrong name. Again, person spent 5 mins on her hair and didn’t dry it before getting her out of chair. Gave her a sucker without asking and didn’t style or offer glitter. Kicker is both stylists were new and training; a Saturday is not a very good time for training if the mgmt isn’t going to provide them support. No knowledge of computer or how to ring up our transaction; manager had to come an provide help while interrupting another child’s hair cut. And what was the final cost for this…$ 36.00. Ridiculous.
I used to take my girls to a children’s hair salon in Vancouver, WA and was really hoping to find a replacement here. Won’t be coming back; feel bad for the girls, but Lil’ snippers in WA was 100x better than this franchise.

Very friendly staff and they did excellent to make sure my child’s first hair cut was a memorable one. They took pictures and gave them to us in a frame before we left. Worth every penny we spent!

Ok, I have to update. The owner of the salon contacted me after seeing my Facebook comment and offered me an apology and a free haircut. We took advantage of the haircut today and we were very impressed with our service. I purposely did not say anything about it before we paid to ensure a genuine experience.
Leesa was our stylist and she was awesome. She was friendly and welcoming and did a great, quick cut. Best of all (perhaps under her control, perhaps just lucky), our toddler did not shed ONE tear. Not one. He sat patiently and she continually encouraged him by name for doing such a great job during his haircut.
Looks like Pigtails & Crewcuts has earned our business back, thanks to a proactive owner. We will definitely be back for more haircuts.
