Gentleman Jim’s Bar & Grill 1

Everyone should give this place 1 star. Not that it is a bad place to be at all, but its a 1 star kinda joint.

This is a place for barely legals. Not a very fun place for people that aren’t looking for amateur hour.

It’s a dive bar, but a great dive bar.
Here’s what you can expect: ashtrays at the tables because it’s one of the few bars that still lets patrons smoke inside, mixed drinks the size of a big gulp, and bar food that’s perfectly acceptable after you’ve had a few drinks.
The atmosphere is completely dependent on what time of year it is; during the fall and spring this place is filled with loud college kids, but during the summer it’s nice and quiet.

My favorite bar while in college. Ah the good olé days. $ 5.75 for a 32 oz liquor drink in a styrofoam cup. Half gallon of beer served in a half gallon plastic milk jug of some unknown beer, probably Natty Light. The good olé days.

This is «clean Jim’s» if anyone’s asking. The best college bar in a town without a lot of good ones. Once you step foot in here, you’ll realize why I never go to «Dirty Jim’s» over on Greenland.
Here’s the thing though. I love this bar. Great drink specials everyday. $ 3 Pitchers every Tuesday and Thursday. Those are the busiest nights. Mixed drinks run about $ 6 and come in HUGE Styrofoam cups. You don’t need many to have a good night, they’re pretty strong. The people who come here are generally college aged and not low class, they just don’t want to pay a ton for beer. Generally speaking everyone is there to have a good time and laugh and there’s surprisingly few fights.
Don’t dress up, because you’re clothes will take a beating; but hey, it’s a cheap college bar, what do you expect? It can get crowded at times, especially after 10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Your best bet is to grab about a pitcher (or 2) a person at about 9:30 and you should be pretty set while everyone else trickles in and fights for the bartenders’ attention.
Haven’t had the food in a while, but it used to actually be pretty decent. You can also buy a souvenir T-​Shirt and refillable yard glasses (sometimes). The best time to get there is before 9 so you can grab yourself a seat and watch everyone else as they trickle in. You’ll know if I’m there that night because I’ll have already hogged the Jukebox and played music that only I really like. I like to get there at about 7 and throw darts or play the «Bags» arcade game and spend half my bar money in the JukeBox
Also, there’s a patio outside for the warmer months, which is a great thing, and adds a bit of extra room. Just be sure not to drive drunk, taxis in the ‘boro are cheap anyway
