I work near this restaurant and frequent it quite often. The food is amazing here, very flavorful and cooked to perfection. All of the reviewer giving this location a poor review have their head up their behind. I order the chicken fattoush salad w/o pita or dressing. It’s healthy and way filling. Love the iced mint tea as well. Would recommend this location to anyone.

This place has amazingly friendly and good service. The food is always good. I highly recommend their lunch special and really anything else you may want from there. They have great teas and juice, too!

Just left pita inn and couldn’t be happier about the customer service we just received! When we walked up to the counter the manager ringing everyone up was finishing up a phone order. He immediately appologized and took our order, he was so nice. We ordered hummus and he said to us after we paid that he gave us the hummus ‘for our wait’… We really didn’t wait at all, but we were very pleased and surprised by this. After ordering, we asked a few questions, all which were answered happily. Upon getting our food the head chef(at least that is what he looked like) threw in a garlic sauce that we should have had to pay for. Overall a great experience! Thank you very much!

I go to this place so often, placing orders both in the restaurant and over the phone, that one of the cashiers knows my name… yea, basically I love this place. I talk about my fondness for it so much, my friend who’s originally from Lebanon thinks it’s ‘cute’ I usually get the chicken tender entrée, and that’s usually enough for both lunch and dinner. Extra pita, cos you need to have multiple sandwiches. And I always ask for extra, extra tahini sauce. I’m talking like six, seven little portions, including one memorable time we got a little tub of it. how else am I gonna eat all the sandwiches, the rice, and a side of falafel if I don’t have enough tahini to drown it all in? ??? I should probably try some new things, but what I get is so delicious, why would I want to change it? I’m actually a little reluctant to move away from this area… what if the other restaurants aren’t as good? ??? I’ve been to the Wheeling location, and was pleased to find it tastes the same anywhere. But they really outdone themselves in décor at the Mundelein location, like, okay… work. I’d even eat in the gorgeous bathroom if it came down to it I read the article in the… Tribune I think? about the owners’ story, and found it cool and inspiring. Definitely will remain a fan for life. I’m glad my family came around to it eventually, cos when they first saw the green-looking chicken on the spit they thought it was gross… they were in for a big shock lol

Easy 5 stars. The food here is so good and fresh, love everything I’ve tried; veggie plate has the best hummus and baba ganoush. Chicken shwarma is awesome as is anything falafel. Also really love the mint iced tea. Sort of bizarre décor, but this place is nice, new, and clean. There is a reason that Pita Inn is always crowded and it is the delicious and flavorful food.

When it comes to fast and friendly service, great value, and awesome lunch food, Pita Inn in Mundelein has you covered. Just order the lunch special, get both sauces, and skip dinner. They deserve the crowds.

Amazing food! I had the lamb pita with hummus and garlic sauce and it was incredible. The BF had the sampler plate with could have fed us both! If you love Mediterranean food or if you’ve never tried it, head to the Pita Inn. The food portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. I even tried a dessert that I’ve never had before. It had shredded wheat on it! Delicious! I got some date cookies and a falafel sandwich for later. This is the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had!

I was here for lunch on Saturday and it was so yummy! You order at the counter and it’s super quick. They give you a number and the wait isn’t too bad, even at lunchtime. It’s clean and many places to sit. Definitely different from other fast good restaurants. I got the chicken tender entrée which was spicy and filling. The prices are good for what you get. You can also get pita chips and baklava to take home($ 2.99 for a box of cinnamon pita chips, $ 5.99 for a box of baklava). And the Baklava is perfect. If you are looking for something quick, tasty and different, I would recommend coming here.

Pita Inn? Now surely this would be my dream come true, if I could just stay at a hotel that was made out of nice, warm Pita… But alas, the name is deceiving. Pita Inn seems to be an interesting fast-food like restaurant, although from the outside it certainly appears to be a sit-down with a waiter type ordeal. My friend and I ordered from two sides of the menu spectrum, with her getting a Chicken Fataoush Salad, and me getting the chicken lunch special. Overall both dishes were very good and filling! The salad, per my friend, had a very nice light dressing, and was tasty but not too heavy. My special was a very generous amount of food, with some pita bread on the side that I almost had no use for(too lazy to make the sandwiches myself). The chicken was cooked nicely, and the salad added a nice fresh component to the overall dish. I wasn’t too interested in the rice that came with it to be honest, and I didn’t finish it. Pita Inn is a great value, and the food isn’t something you can easily get in the area. If you are a fan of middle eastern cuisine, I would definitely recommend coming here to get your fix!

I really enjoy the Pita Inn located in Schaumburg. While in Mundelein I stopped here for a quick lunch. It was about 2PM and very few people were there. But, the wait for my food was much longer than expected. Like the other Pita Inn’s, you order at the counter. They offer a good lunch special, which I ordered — Shawarma, beef and rice. And, they added one felafil. The food was good, but not hot when I got it, the folks at the counter were not friendly or welcoming. In short, I was disappointed.

Started coming to Skokie’s Pita Inn before it became a local chain. It continues to be a great spot for Mediterranean cuisine. Although I routinely get the shawarma sand which or business platter, this place does not disappoint. Very clean and organized service. Definitely an awesome addition to the area.

We have been going to Pita inn for last 15 years. I was a regular in Wheeling Pita Inn while working around the area, went for lunch 2 – 4 times a week. Left IL after that but anytime I come back this is a go-to place for lunch or dinner the first chance I get. After 15 years, I find the food consistently delicious. This location is bigger than Wheeling and bit more decorated. Sure I don’t see the owner Hamdi’s familiar face at this location, but the combo plate with chicken breast, lamb kabob and beef Shawarma are comfortingly familiar and as delicious as ever. Yes, that’s the entrée I go for just bcs I can’t decide which meat I like more so I want it all. :) Today, I paired it up with Tamarind juice, it was alright but maybe an acquired taste, just like Tahina sauce which tastes great with freshly deep fried Falafal. The best sauce is the red chili sauce here. Be cautious if you can’t handle ‘HOT’. You may still enjoy, but also may regret later :)…It’s my favorite hot sauce. I have tried to get the secret recipe out of Hamdi while going to Wheeling, but he would not budge :) The hummus here is above average. They also have a list of mid-eastern and western drinks to choose from, all non-alcoholic. So, guys, no first date here. ;) Others in my party ordered the chicken, lamb and falafel plate. They were equally satisfied. There’s also a shelf full of goody’s like chocolate covered dates. Friendly service at the counter and very reasonably priced. if you are up for a healthy meat that’s also flavorful, I highly recommend to give this place a try.

TIP: Come during lunch hours 12−3pm weekdays if you want the best deal in town. You really can’t go wrong with this place, especially for its price. It’s the perfect combination that satisifies your hunger and much much more. You can also bring your pita basket once you run out and ask for a refill. I love their sauces and found that the perfect combination is actually mixing them together, take the white sauce and pour it into the red sauce cup and voila! You got yourself«da bomb» sauce. I love Pita Inn’s employees’, especially who pay attention to detail. Service is what I look for and they always prove themselves. When a customer is finished, they immediately offer to take their trays and clean the spot right there. You won’t find that anywhere else for a quick fast food place.

Food is consistent although portions have been smaller the last few times and naturally prices slightly raised but on par with market. Solid place with tasty food. Yes, there are other places but Pita Inn has a special place in my heart. Décor reflects an old chinese buffet haha. Baba Ghannough, Beef Shawarma, Veggie Combo Plate, Falafels, Lentil Soup, and of course the lunch special — all flavorful/fresh.

Pita Inn I know that my wife couldn’t wait for this place to open up in Mundelein so I was pretty excited for her when they announced that they were converting the old Krispy Kreme to a Pita Inn. I had never seen her so excited about a food place before like she was with Pita Inn. Pita Inn in Wheeling was the first Mediterranean food place that I had ever been too. I have been to this location about 3 or 4 times now and I usually order the kefta kabob. The past couple of times the kabob was pretty dried out and as a result a little tough for my liking. I think that someone else that reviewed this place indicated that the food sits under a warming light which would explain why the meet was dried out and a little tough. We also ordered some falafels and again they were crispy and too dry for my taste. I am happy that the Pita Inn re-purposed the old Krispy Kreme because there are way too many businesses building new instead of taking over another place. I am happy for my wife that she has this Pitta Inn to go to but I have another place for my Mediterranean fix that I prefer(Firewood Kabob). Overall score is 3.5 stars
