May’s Drive-In

I made a special trip here with my family to try a specific menu item and got extremely disappointed. When we arrived we walked in and stood at the door as we didn’t know if we sat ourselves or we needed to wait and be seated. After about 5 min of standing there and servers walking right by us and not saying anything we finally asked a guest if we sat ourselves and she said we could. The only table available was dirty and still had plates and everything from the previous patrons but we sat nonetheless. We waited about 10 min at this dirty table before the waitress came and began to clear it and never said a word to us while she did. Finally, after the table was cleared she took out drink order which was two coffees and two kids orange juice. After looking over the small menu I didn’t see the menu item I traveled there for. When I asked about it I was informed they only had that item every other day and that day was not one of them. My family and I took a lil while longer and discussed what we wanted to do. While we sat drinking our coffee we were being stared at by nearly everyone in the restaurant as if we were foreigners and felt very uncomfortable. I guess everybody were regulars which makes sense in such a small town. After such horrible service, sitting at a dirty table for 10 min, and them not even having the menu item I wanted my family and I just decided to finish our coffee and went to dennys. Will not be returning which is unfortunate because I really wanted to try their creamed chipped beef.

Breakfast is a bargain and served so nice and hot! Ice cream is always an excuse to stop on our trip as the flavors are quite a variety. Granddaughter wants to try bubble gum flavor next time. I think I’ll try the strawberry shortcake sundae though the hot fudge is hard to not have.

Self serve fast food restaurant. We were so amazed how small and crappy looking the cheese steak sandwich we ordered, it was like a kid’s meal, and we could count there were about two pieces of meat in the little bun.
I ordered the onion rings, for $ 1.7, I got 5 pieces onion ring totally. The price on the menu looked cheap, but when you see the portion, I will feel actually it’s not cheap at all.
Only thing was good there was their ice cream and soft serve. I had black raspberry ice cream, it was very good. But it tasted just like Sunset ice cream in Williamsport.
So anyway, I will only eat their when I pass their on my way somewhere, and the ice cream is the only thing I will get, nothing else.
