I wish Carter was out during the holidays… Those of us who live far away and come for the holidays and just want a carter hot dog are deprived.

If you’re a Ball State student, you need to get a Carter’s hot dog. Carter’s chili cheese is the way to go. Cincinnati-style chili loaded with a ton of shredded cheese. The wait in line always seems to make it taste better!

I am with Alan in my admiration and liking for Carter’s Hot Dogs. Each year at the National Championships in Muncie, I look forward to having one of his dogs or sausages for lunch. Onions and mustard. Wonderful! I like ‘em!

Great place that rewards loyalty! Only wish they had better quality hot dogs brand wise. I really wish they had Nathans or Sabretts.

Oh… how thinking about Carter’s Hot Dogs brings back memories! It’s the grated cheese… another review had it right. The grated cheese over the homemade chili = the perfect way to end a night out in the Village near BSU.

Great guy, business and hot dogs. No matter how drunk you are you always remember carters hot dogs! Seriously though, I don’t know why they are so good, they just are and I’ve had them sober and drunk.

I used to visit Carters on late nights during my Ball State party days. He makes the best hot dogs, hands down! I kept trying to make some similar ones in my apartment and it just wasn’t the same. He is in the Ball State village are on random nights. Just look for the long line of people because his food is so good!

Greatest hot dog stand/vendor you can find in this world. Worth a drive from anywhere in the US for an excellent night cap. Hand grated cheese sprinkled over thick and chunky homemade chili that has just been poured over a hearty, juicy hot dog wrapped up in a warmly steamed bun … Carter makes any other hot dog look/taste like a poo on bread. And may I say, anyone who jumps ship to Greek’s pizza due to a long line is nothing more than a cowardly trader(or is just too drunk to have an opinion)

Carter is world famous, listed on ESPN’s top 10 things to do before you graduate from college was to get one of Carter’s famous hotdogs. These are the best late night snacks. Chili Cheese dogs, polish sausages, bratwurst. Deal with waiting in a long line, even in the dead cold of winter. Carter has some loyal fans, but he is such a great guy and he remembers his customers and serves them well. His proceeds have even helped fund 2 people through college. Best late night deal, and always a guaranteed adventure waiting in line for one of his hot dogs.

For at least 10 years, Mark Carter has sold hotdogs in the Village, primarily to those leaving the bars, but still don’t know where they’re going. The wait takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour(Homecoming and such), but any Card worth his salt will gladly stand in line. It’s a great neutral place to view fights, arrests, sharkings, puppies, and girls falling off motorcycles. The entertainment is great, but secondary to the amazing boiled franks. My favorite, the Founder’s Dog, is a thing of the past, since Weiner Man doesn’t keep bacon on the cart anymore, but a Slaw Dog with BBQ hits the spot. Beware of the bullshit amateur imitator at the scramble light; you know a Carter Dog when you taste one.
