Great American Grill

Went here tonite for their «Friday Night All U Can Eat Fish Fry.» First off, there was literally one other couple in this place at 5:30 — 6:00 p.m. Should’ve been a clue to us. Might’ve ordered beer but they have nothing on tap. Bottles only. Curious given the many craft breweries around. Ordered iced tea which was more like iced water and took forever to get and get refills of (like they were hoping you weren’t going to ask for another glass). Service was extremely slow.
Dinner? $ 17 is what it cost for fish and chips which was 2 thin slices of fish, a handful of frozen bagged fries, and a smattering of cole slaw. First batch of fish had obviously been sitting a bit. It wasn’t crispy but it was edible. Cole slaw was bland with no flavor. French fries? From a bag. Really? 2^nd batch of fish was much better being freshly cooked, hot, crispy. Tartar had to be asked for and then came in tiny little dish. Waitress acted like it was a chore and/​or she was angry that we asked for more tartar. Whatever.
This place is basically a very expensive Denny’s. On the «all you can eat fish» it was just that, fish only. No more fries, although since they are not made fresh — who wants em? And no more cole slaw (which was maybe ¼ cup at best). Guy eating at the bar thought the whole deal came as «all u can eat» but, alas, no.
The fish, fries, cole slaw all arrived on a wilted and brown piece of lettuce. Why?
You’re better off going almost anyplace other than this place. Especially for the cost and service. We will not be back.
