Field of Screams

My boyfriend and I go to a few haunted houses every Halloween season and this is one of the better ones. This was our first time to Field of Screams. We came on Halloween Day and at first, around 6pm, it wasn’t too crowded. We didn’t wait very long for the first two attractions. However, as it got later, the lines got ridiculous! One hour wait for the haunted hayride AND nocturnal wasteland. Besides the long waits, we had a terrific time!

Please limit the number of VIP sales. People getting out of lines, buying VIP and going to front.
Completely overcrowded 2 hours in line per attraction forcing people to Upgrade to VIP. I did go later on a Saturday night to be fair.
Similar problem with online sales-​line to get into main entrance 2 times longer than walk up ticket purchase.
Working the crowded lines with cheap T shirts trying to make us feel the wait is so worth it. I’m only here still to get the exact time it took yo wait at the Asylum attraction.
The attractions are good though… get the VIP… just ask mom and dad for more mullah! $ 175.00 FOR 3… WITH VIP PASSES. Bring money for games and food too.

The GF and I try to go here every year. Totally worth the 1.5 hour drive one way. We typically go around opening time on Sunday’s to avoid the long lines. However, once I start making more income, I will start going on Friday/​Saturdays with VIP Upgrade to skip the line. The reason being that they have much more actors on those nights.
This is one of the few haunts where I can easily say they put 100% energy in each and EVERY attraction. Typically, other haunts will put most of their energy on 1 or 2 attractions and the others will be clearly lacking. Also, I would say this is the best «bang for the buck» attraction after the coupon promos they always offer. In addition, they change around/​add to the attractions enough to make you want to visit annually.
The food is surprisingly great although clearly not very healthy. I can’t recall what I had last year but it was delicious! Something equivalent to Poutine. Their desserts are awesome too.
Overall, I would rate this haunt a 5/​5, average of the past 3 years. It’s clearly one of our favorites and right up there with Pennhurst Asylum and Bates Motel. Field of Screams has the BEST hayride and is also our top pick in terms of overall «fun» factor.

This was the best haunted attraction I’ve been to. There wasn’t an attraction that I wasn’t screaming. I’m sure I won’t have a voice tomorrow. It was a plus that the actors are able to touch you because that’s what got me hyped up because I was being scared and tickled at the same time lmao. Definitely not a dollar wasted. The food was decently priced and so was the gift shop. It’s a great set up since it’s kinda like walking Into a mini amusement park. They wouldn’t have to change a thing and I would go back again next year but it’s cool that they change things to but in all honesty it was perfect the way it is. Hayride was the best Ive ever been on.

Had a great time! Great attractions and actors were awesome! Only one girl had a cell phone during the haunt… She was an employee however I still enjoyed this place.
I thought each attraction was amazing and they spent a lot of time making sure it flowed and was good.
The only problems I had were the long long lonnnnnnnnngggggg lines and the wait for a ports potty!!!
I paid the 60 verse 40 for VIP passes, well worth it!!! I really didn’t wait at all to get in. We were in and out of all 4 attractions in less than an hr and a half! Well worth the money!
I also enjoyed the scenery and games that were in the common area! Great addition to the haunts!
I would recommend and I would go again, but not without VIP passes!

Took my boyfriend, Paul, with me for the first time. Had an absolute blast as usual. I love the new additions to the hayride and Nocturnal Wasteland. This is the best haunted attraction in my opinion. Take the trip to PA, its worth every mile.

I have been to this every year for about 10 years. This year I was super impressed, the props, the theme, the midway being paved and set up how it is amazing. Field of screams stepped their game up and it shows. The hayride was awesome complete with the spinning illusion… so sick. The games were fun, and the trail was wow… just go do the trail. Awesome job definietly one of the best scare places around now.

This place is absolutely amazing. The actors are very good and the Quality of the park is extremely well done. this is the best haunted attraction I’ve ever been to. The den of darkness is the scariest event there. They have live music and good food and games. I wouldn’t recommend that you take a young child to this. This may be quite frightening to them. They take it to the extreme.

After several years hearing about this place I finally went. chased by guys with chainsaws within mins of entering the location. it was wild.

DONT GO TO JASON WOOD’S!!! Field of screams is way better, way more scares and way more actors. When I was there they had a rapping contest witch entertained us while I was waiting in line. Anyway first off the haunted hayride, it’s scary, people come up in your face and scream in your ear. Next the asylum it’s really scary, you walk in this room with checkers and flashing lights which makes it hard for u to walk and they hav clowns. Then they hav the wasteland which isn’t tht scary all the actors do is put their arm around u and come up to your face. Finally the scariest is the den of darkness, before u walk into this room u will see a little joking around with trying to open the door into pitch black. When u walk into the room u can’t see anything u hav too feel your way through plus u hav people touching your feet and your hair. I would say u should go here not to jason woods.

There were 15 people from 15 – 48 years old and everyone had a good time. Den of Darkness was my favorite followed by the Asylum. This was my first time through Nocturnal Wasteland and the setting was very well done. I do recommend placing more actors throughout the walk like the Den & Asylum. Hayride is always our last stop. This year not so fun since they crammed 4 rows of people into the wagon, much to uncomfortable & crowded to enjoy as before. The overall experience was still enjoyable & the dancers and actors in the common area were great.

Great place, great food, great scares, and a great price. Definitely worth my gas and money

So, I want to preface this by saying Den of Darkness and Frightmare Asylum were two of the scariest haunted houses I’ve ever been to. So why the three? Well…
The park opens at 5, and two of the houses are available right off the bat. Nocturnal Wasteland and The Hayride open at 7. The full pass is 33 bucks. And you can go into each house only once. They last about 20 minutes. So… If you get there early… You’re gonna be bored for an hour. The property you can walk around is very small, and of it’s daylight, there aren’t any actors scaring you… Just two clowns (who were very funny). The hayride and nocturnal wasteland were not scary at all. The sets are top notch, but seemed like there were some missed opportunities. The scares were the same each time, and they didn’t seem as inventive as the asylum and den.
The carnival games are decently prices but there aren’t many. So for me, driving three hours and only really having an hour and a half of fun wasn’t exactly worth it. But, still, they do go all out as best they can… I’d just suggest they don’t open until all the houses can open and maybe they add some more things to do.

Okay attraction: Actors had great make up and the length was awesome! Specifically I enjoyed the waking path! Warning: They do not accept credit cards! And you have to use their atm! Total scam! Also, they pack the hayride so deep you can’t see!

I have been coming again and again to Field of Screams over the years, and it just gets better every time. This year they added a new outdoor haunted attraction that takes you through the woods.
The actors have gotten better as well i think, really committed to the roles. They stagger how many groups of people can go in at one time, that way it does not just become one big conga line and lose the scare factor.
The attractions themselves are the best of any haunted attraction I’ve ever been to. So well made, fantastic lighting, costumes, and animatronics. Wear things you don’t mind crawling in because you will likely be on your hands and knees.
Line: yes they are VERY long. Get the VIP pass, it is worth it if you don’t want to wait in an hour long line.
Crowd: mostly teenagers, but they aren’t annoying or disrespectful. I’m 35 and have a blast.
Parking: tons of it and well directed and managed.
Bathrooms: porta johns sadly
Food: typical carnival food,.

This place was awesome! Scared my bf and I multiple times. Very well put together! The first impression it does resemble a carnival and you will probably think why did I come here? But give it a chance it’s awesome! And super scary! I bonked my head trying to get away from a bus full of actors I walked through, they were super nice about me hitting my head and wanted to make sure I was OK. Great experience, great night. Wonderfully done!

Absolutely my favorite time of the year is when field of screams opens. The attractions are always well done, and the experience is so much fun.
The houses are fun., and so is the hayride, but by far the best one is the new outdoor walking one. Not only do you get to enjoy the outdoor scenery but the actors really get into it and you can go at your own pace. The photo at the beginning was fun too!

As an adult of 43, I can say that this is the best Halloween attraction I have been to.

Other have talked about long lines. We went early on a Sunday and had no issues.
If you have young kids as I do, you will want to do them order of least to most scary.
HAUNTED HAYRIDE: moderate.
NOCTURNAL WASTELAND: Scary
DEN OF DARKNESS: Very scary
FRIGHTMARE ASYLUM: most scary.

I came here twice. I wouldn’t come here more than that.
The first time you experience it is great because everything is so unexpected. If you come a second time, of course you’re aware where the characters are going to jump out of. So, the first time will always be the best.
The first time I came I paid for the fast line. If you’re impatient like me, $ 10 more is completely worth it. But it gets you through the park very quickly.
I don’t see myself going again. I’m older from when I last went. It’s for a younger crowd. Make sure you wear sneakers because you walk through dirt. No place for sandals or heels.

I’ll try to be to-​the-​point:
1. Buy your tickets online. We were greeted with a ginormous line for tickets, but luckily, we skipped it due to having our tiks pre-​paid.
2. Den of Darkness was the best. Too bad we started with that and had huge expectations set for the future attractions.
3. Waited in line for the Hayride for 2 hours only to come out of it terribly disappointed, hearts at their normal pace, and feeling a little sad inside. I really wish someone had told me how lacking it was, so I could have wasted my time in another line.
4. The asylum was ridiculous. In a bad way. We got to it at closing, and as we were being rushed through, employees were just walking through towards the exit, abandoning their stations and wasting my money. We’d walk past scenes that had empty chairs. A little infuriating. Next time, hire real actors and not high schoolers that half-​a$$ their job come closing time. Another thing was that a chain saw man was running around and his saw hit my kneecap, causing some pretty big bruising. Not cool at all and he just kept going. Between that and the lack of scares, it definitely ruined the mood of the place and had me leaving Field of Screams swearing I’d never come back.
5. Refer back to #1 but instead of buying tickets, how about you don’t. The set-​ups and aesthetics of it all were fantastic. But the actors in 2 out of the 3 attractions lacked skill, creativity and a true yearning to scare the shiz out of people.
6. I’d recommend Bates Motel. It’s not nearly on the financial level as this monster attraction, but I seriously had a way better (and scarier) time there than this mega-​fail. So much potential was lost and it could’ve been due to us being there late. But that’s something they should prepare for, as most individuals would rather be scared at 9:30/10pm than 7.
