St Timothy’s Episcopal Church

We love St. Tim’s, and are sad to be moving out of the area. St. Tim’s sings a lot, and are extremely supportive of families with young kids. If they want to run to the back of the church and play that’s okay. If they want to sing with the band, we get the music a week in advance so they can practice at home, and then during the service they can step up to a microphone. The sins are spiritually placed in a sea shell and children volunteer to be «shell washers» that wash the sins away. Their new program «The Point» encourages to share and support each other, to think about the bible passages in new ways, and to learn about programs offered by the church, while the kids are in «Godly Play» — playtime based around biblical themes.

The 9:00am kids service is a lot of fun. The kids are pretty involved and are not «shushed». Great sermons too.

St. Timothy’s Preschool offers a loving yet structured environment where my 2 kids thrived and grew confidently under the loving care of the 3 teachers.
In Bay Area one often finds preschools boasting solely on their facilities and emphasis on academic excellence. But one fails to see beyond the cosmetics. We parents should know that pre-​school is fundamental and the major requirements that build a confident and respectable child are stable environment, consistency in principle and most of all tender loving care which resembles that of your own family. These are the qualities any parent can surely expect from St. Tim’s Preschool. These teachers, equipped with over 25 years experience, are able to gently san applying too much pressure as they communicate to your child so they learn to understand the rights from wrong. Every child at St. Tim’s is loved equally and fairly. No parent will see fighting kids at this school. Kids learn how to respect their peers, not because they are told but because they recognize the meaning of respect. Once your child is entrusted to these teachers, they will blossom into incredible individuals where even the toughest kindergarten teachers will be impressed. The school may seem small but the potential is incalculable! St. Tim’s is truly a dimond in the rough!

St. Timothy’s Preschool is a wonderful school. My daughter went here for 2 years and now my son is in the 3’s program here. St. Timothy’s has done what few other preschools can do, they have captured the best of both worlds. They let the children play and have fun, and they also prepare the children for kindergarten.
They also have a Science Program for the 4 year olds which is incredible. The children have so much FUN that they don’t even know they are learning. They ‘learn’ everything from reptiles to weather to outer space in a really fun environment.
Another major plus is that the preschool is small and the teachers are so nice and they really take the time to get to know the kids and their personalities.

The preschool at St. Timothy’s is a hidden jem! The director and teachers have a wonderful, mutually respectful rapport with the kids. Because it is a small program and the kids have the same teachers for the 3 year old and 4 year old programs, the teachers really get to know the kids and their parents well. Helen takes great care in teaching the kids how to get along: share, take turns and resolve conflicts. They have lots of fun learning. My daughter loves going. It’s not the fanciest facility, but the teachers committment and the caring environment more than make up for it. It’s definitely worth checking out!
