unfortunately the employees dont have it together and don’t really care. the line was backed up and they were serving the wrong pizzas– but didnt give a damn. the chit– chatting was the only priority. too bad!

Round table has been my favorite pizza for a long time but this time I was really disappointed. The pizza was burnt around the edges. The Maui zowie pepperoni which is normally a great pizza was soggy and hardly had any pepperoni on it. I would still recommend round table pizza but I would avoid this location.

I ordered a large pizza this evening at 6:13pm. The estimated delivery time was 35 minutes. After 55 minutes I called and was told that the driver was behind and would be there soon. After 1 hour and 35 minutes, I called and canceled the order(even if it could get to me at that point, I figured it wouldn’t be hot). TOTALFAIL.

This place is pretty run down and does not have that King Arthur/Camelot feel to it that I grew up with at Round Table. Aside from some modernistic art prints of their shield logo. We start at two stars. After ordering our pizza, which went smoothly, we had a difficult time finding a clean table. We wanted to sit in a booth near the kids’ play area, if you can call it that, so that our 5 year old could play while we waited. Every empty booth needed to be cleared off and cleaned still so we sat at a table. Eventually the busboy came by and cleaned them, albeit very slowly, and we moved over to a booth before pizza arrived. Still two stars. While we waited, my husband asked me what I thought of this Round Table, as we’ve been to a few in the bay area that we’ve enjoyed. I told him I wasn’t impressed. Two stars at this point. Maybe three. Our son was enjoying the abacus on the kiddie table. The pizza arrived after about 20 minutes and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I had already formed an opinion of the place and was expecting the pizza to seal the three star deal. But I was thrown for a loop. Even my husband said the pizza was much better than expected. We left with pizza left over, a happy child, full bellies, and a changed attitude and opinion of the place. Oh, and some ice cream for dessert from Safeway next door. We probably won’t ever go to eat inside again, but we will definitely order for pick up or delivery. They’re only a mile away.

I never thought I’d write a bad review for a Round Table, but today really irritated me. Dining in I’ve never had problems. Delivery on the other hand, I’m 2 for 2 on negative feedback. I ordered online at 5pm. Estimated time for the pizza at my door was 5:30. 6pm rolls by, no pizza. Call them, they say the delivery guy is stuck in traffic(I live less than 5 min away,(just had things I couldn’t leave my place for and even at 5pm traffic it’s MAYBE10 min), «he will be there in 5 – 8 min» K… 15 minutes go by. No pizza. Get a call from the store, she says the delivery guy has been at my place for 5+ min and left after ringing the bell several times because he has other deliveries??? There’s a BIG doorbell that is loud as heck and you could be sound asleep and that damn thing will scare the living hell out of you(it’s happened to me before) and the other door to my place was wide open. SO, I finally get my damn pizza at 6:30, an hour after the estimated time, and by then it’s not even hot. It’s warm-ish to say at best. Never have I ever been so unsatisfied with any kind of delivery.

I am a huge fan of Round Table and have probably been going ATLEAST once a month for as long as I can remember. So for my last birthday, my sister suggested another family member buy me some gift certificates. As they do not live in town, they picked these up at the Concord, CA location. However, when I attempted to redeem these certificates last weekend, I was told they were not valid as the gift certificates they had looked different. I thought this was weird since it clearly states«This certificate entitles the bearer to twenty dollars worth of Round Table Pizza menu items at your local Round Table.» After calling the issuing restaurant, I was informed that I misunderstood what«local Round Table» means. In fact, it means the 5 locations surrounding the Concord, CA location. Well played, Round Table.

So me and my family decided to stop for pizza on our way home & we were looking forward to dining in at round table since it’s one of our favorite pizza places. first of all as soon as we walked in, it smelled horrible, secondly the customer service was awful! The employee with the glasses was so rude, when I asked a simple question as if you have fries, he said there’s jack in the box with a smirk, then he threw my water cup at me and couldn’t even properly apologize without laughing and lastly it was OVERPRICED. Also, thinking that you would pay so much for a pizza & you would receive better quality was clearly a huge disappointment. I definitely do not recommend this pizza location, find a different one where their is better customer service!!!

Never Again. Overpriced and incorrect. Menu descriptions online don’t even match what is included. If you have allergies, beware. Now we have to drive all the way back to return this disgusting pizza. Over thirty bucks for a pizza, and they include surprise ingredients. Yikes. No thank you, I’d prefer that my throat doesn’t close up tonight and I don’t want to end up in the hospital. Never will we order from Round Table Pizza again.

Round Table is ok enough pizza, but for a chain pizza place it is outrageously expensive for what you get. This in and of itself ticks me off. But what took the cake last time I ordered pizza and wings delivered? They charged me an extra dollar because I ordered blue cheese dressing instead of ranch to go with the wings. and did not bother to tell me they were up-charging me even when I questioned why the bill seemed higher? Wow. Weee. FAIL. Sorry Round Table, with excellent pizza at Frankie Johnny and Luigi’s or several other places in the area, why would I come back here? $ 50 bucks for a large thin sparse pizza and 8 wings. I will pass.

Late for a meeting I had to get quick food. Personal pepperoni and an iced tea to the rescue. At first their credit card machine was down so I couldnt pay but the workers let me eat anyways. At the end they got it almost fixed and I just said to take the CC # and charge me later. Old school carbon paper action. Anyways they got me fed and outta there despite the problems with the POS system. Really nice folks, despite it being a chain

The 5 star rating is for Jesus(the night manager). That guy is amazing, super friendly and always accommodating. Also, the pizza is always awesome when he’s there and making them. I don’t come other than in the evenings, so I cannot speaks for the rest of the staff.

I’ve been ordering from this location for the past 4 years, and the last 2 times have been very disappointing. The time before tonight the crust was so stale you could hardly chew it, I don’t know how they managed that? I called, and someone pretending to be a manager said they would credit my account. Then when I called to order again, of course there was no credit, and this is when I found out that the person I spoke to was not a manager, did not have any authority of any kind, and flat out lied to me. They gave me a slight discount, and told me that I would have to call in the morning to talk to the general manager. When I spoke to manager tonight she said«I know you wanted a free pizza»…and I corrected her. «I did not want a free pizza, I wanted a fresh, good quality pizza», which is what I paid for. Then tonight when they delivered my current order the pizza was cold, and a ½ hour late. The driver was apologetic and very nice. He said he told them that he should not have been given our order since they sent him to Los Altos first, which is quite a ways from us. I think they did it on purpose. The pizza was not even in one of those insulated bags. Not a very nice way to treat a long-term loyal customer. I guess this is going to have to be the last time we order from them as I’m not comfortable anymore. I don’t like to complain to places that I get food from, and I doubt talking to the general manager will help what goes on when she’s not there.

Contents: 1) About this Round Table. 2) A good current seasonal special pizza. 3) About Round Table pizzerias generally. 1) With closure of the ECR/Grant location, two other RTs serve Mountain View and environs, all with same local owner. THIS one is in an above-average local restaurant cluster in the Bailey Park Safeway complex, next to notable Vietnamese sandwich shop Big Bites solid independent Momoya Sushi and conscientiously run local-owner-managed Dickies BBQ meats smokehouse franchise . Not all Round Table franchises are managed equally, as Unilocaler Dan B can testify. I’ve found this one executing conscientiously so far, in takeout and delivery orders, a good example of the chain, whence(and since a current seasonal pizza was impressive) I went to 4 stars for this midprice chain pizzeria with delivery, after always marking 3 for RT before. Like many RTs, it has a salad bar and offers an all-you-can-eat weekday lunch buffet, $ 8.50. 2) RTs currently offer a seasonal specialty pizza, «West Coast Combo w/Bacon»($ 17.95, Large), strongly recommended unless you’re vegetarian. Mixed meats, vegs, herbs, white garlic sauce, balsamic vinegar drizzle. Impressive when tried at this RT location, and with lots of toppings and flavor, so it serves more than usual for a «Large» RT pizza.(Order with«light cheese» for perfect flavor balance — it’s heavier with meats than most pizzas, and doesn’t need a lot of cheese.) Almost as good as 2011’s «Farmer’s Market» seasonal special, which included multicolored heirloom tomato slices and was THEBEST pizza style I’ve had from this Bay Area-based chain in forty(40) years patronizing it. Which brings up – 3) RT began as one Menlo Park restaurant in 1959. Via franchising and quality touches, by 1980s RT was California’s leading pizza chain, spearheading that industry’s diversification beyond the limited quality of the national Big Three(Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Little Caesar’s).(I remember earlier times, when all decent Bay Area pizzas came from independent shops, then there was a quality gap, then the chains below that.) Today, chain pizzerias exist at many quality levels. Some, like Amici’s and Blue Line /Little Star are fancier than RT, but pricier too. Round Table uses above-average ingredients for a chain pizzeria in its price range(balsamic vinegar, fresh basil shreds, multiple pepperoni types.) Special toppings and combinations come and go. Crust is neither pre-formed nor hand tossed, but rolled out on a latticework sheet with a bumpy rolling tool, leaving dimples on top. Then when they’re cooked in a conveyor oven, the lattice carrier leaves a diamond pattern on crust bottom. WORTHKNOWING: RT is the type of chain with higher official menu prices than most locals ever pay, thanks to constant discount offers in mailings, online, and taped to the pizza boxes. These incessant discounts allow you(experience speaking here!) to get a diversified pizza meal for a hungry crowd or party, delivered, including good tip to the driver, at a budget of $ 10 – 12 per person.(You supply drinks.) In that role, I’ve also used Amici’s(fancier, pricier) and Fast Pizza Delivery(strong RT competitor: slightly fewer options but very well-made pizzas, more classic crust, excellent value, BRISK delivery service):

So a few things. This is a review for the salad bar at this location ONLY. I normally love the Round Table salad bar, but this one was a joke. It was so meager, I thought I was at a Mountain Mike’s. They had the weirdest selection of food too! No broccoli, no celery, no olives, no spring mix — only iceberg, I was so sad I had already paid otherwise I would have walked out. Not only that, but the staff charged me nearly $ 9 for a tiny salad. BOOOOO.

We weren’t too happy with our pizza. Not real flavorful. To be honest a frozen pizza that I can doctor up at home is way cheaper and probably better since I add some seasoning.

Ordered my pizza and sat down. After 20 minutes I got up to check on it. They had put it in the warmer oven. They would have let me sit there all night if I didn’t get up to check. Great pizza, poor service.

Round Table Pizza is my classic«go to» comfort food, and this restaurant has perfect RT pizza! The restaurant is small but conveniently located near the Safeway on Shoreline. I often stop in to order a pizza, then make a short grocery shopping trip before grabbing my piping hot pizza and bringing it home for a quick & convenient meal with my family. Cold pizza leftovers from RT are a favorite in my house. Their delivery is fast and friendly, and the delivered pizza is hot and delicious.

My husband went there for takeout and forgot to check the food before bringing it home. Our honey buffalo wings were so charred, you’d think we got coal. Sure, it was near closing time but how could they knowingly serve such charred meat? It was like a box of cancer! I am never going back. They’re expensive with crappy food and crappy service. There are plenty of pizza parlors in the area, do not bother with Round Table. «LASTHONESTPIZZA» MYASS!

* * * * * 5 pepperoni Stars I absolutely love Round Table Pizza at whatever Round Table restaurant I’m at. Make mine original crust ½ cheese & ½ sausage. I totally love the garlic twist with the ranch dipping sauce. Another favorite is the Hawaiian pizza, ham & pineapple. Luv me sum RT!!!
