My varicose and spider veins had become unsightly after having my third child. I was also suffering from circulation problems throughout both of my legs. I knew that, after my first visit with Dr. Shaheen, he was the right doctor to do my surgeries. His caring and kind demeanor will make anyone feel at ease. I am extremely anxious about needles in general, and during each ablation, he made sure that I was calm. After six successful ablation surgeries and one Vein Gogh treatment later, I can safely say, that I would highly recommend Dr. Shaheen to anyone seeking treatment for their vascular disease.

I am 78-​year-​old Medicare patient with deep-​vain problems in my legs. Dr Shaheen examined me and proposed surgery to treat the problem. His initial surgery date conflicted with our move into a retirement center, but he changed his busy schedule and took me two weeks earlier.
Prior to the surgery, he talked with me extensively about the procedure and cleared up all my questions. The 75-​minutes surgery at the PAMF Mountain View Outpatient Center went smoothly (I was asleep) this afternoon, and I have no pain at all now. As a Medicare patient with AARP secondary insurance, I don’t have to pay anything to PAMF or to the doctor!
I am extremely happy to find a highly competent surgeon who is also a kind human being! I highly recommend him!

I had really high hopes for this place and for vein gogh in general.
i had a red spot on my face (post hyper pigmentation) for years i had tried every cream and laser and thought i would give vein gogh a shot.
i called his office and inquired about their rates and etc.
the receptionist stated that the treatment would be $ 400. sounded good and so i went to see dr. shaheen.
when i first walked into his office, he said that he could not treat me. i was bummed but he referred me elsewhere. but as i was about to leave he changed his mind and said that he could go ahead with the treatment.
the procedure was quick and painless. i was really excited to see the results.
dr. shaheen told me to wear sunscreen and that in about a week the red spot should be gone.
i wore sunscreen religiously and a week passed and nothing happened. the spot didn’t get worse but it certainly didn’t get better.
i emailed him and his receptionist responded. i asked to speak to dr. shaheen but she said he was «busy». i asked if i could speak to him and in the background i could hear him tell the receptionist that i needed to make an appt to talk to him.
i’m sure vein gogh works great on other spider viens/​vericose veins but do not see him for any post hyperpigmentation.
i understand that not all procedures will go the way we expect them to but to avoid my phone calls and emails after spending $ 400 on a procedure that did not work is lame.

This was the only surgeon I could find in silicon Valley who is board certified in endo-​vascular surgery. I am so glad my mother was in his care. After other doctors told her they needed to amputate her leg to save it, Dr. Shaheen gave us hope. He put in a stent and her leg is good as new – no amputation necessary! He actually takes the time to explain everything in the office, great bedside manner, and most importantly, an excellent surgeon.
