Amazing tea store. Best selection of pu erh tea I’ve ever seen. I feel very privileged that this store is so close to me, equivalent pu erh in China costs exponentially more and you don’t know what you are getting. Never a problem here. Steven is very kind to share his collection and talk with you about it. His wife is very sweet as well. I adore this place and what it has done for my pu erh collection without draining my wallet. Magical!

This place is great. The tea displays are great which allow you to smell mostly all the teas they have in stock. The couple is also very nice. They are kind and laid back. The woman especially answered all my questions and reccomended me some teas to try. That’s actually very key«reccomended» she didn’t try selling me teas. I got to explore and look around all the selection of teas, cups and other items they have in the store without being pressured into buying something.

Wonderful customer service. I’m new to drinking tea. They made helpful suggestions as to what to try and seemed genuinely glad to have me as a customer. I’ll definitely visit them at their new location. Best of luck & continued success in Mt. View! Thanks for being such a vital part of the art of tea drinking.

A true, quality tea shop! While there’s a great assortment of scented teas(which aren’t my thing, but, admittedly, smell amazing), most of the tea wall is taken up by unscented oolongs and greens, all of which have small urns next to them that you can smell the tea from. The teas are vacuum-sealed in baggies of various sizes, ensuring that they’re perfectly preserved until opening. Try the Competition Bi Lou Chun, if there’s any left — it’s really good! I might have to make this my local haunt in addition to Red Blossom and Song in SF.(The owners are really friendly, too.)

Taiwanese tea of all varieties and of the highest quality. I stumbled in here by accident and I was greeted by the friendliest Taiwanese couple. They have been in business selling tea for seventeen years. They are extremely picky on their quality, and have especially good taste in Greens and Oolongs. As a steeper, this place is pure heaven. They sell everything from leaves to steepers to pots and mugs. If you can’t commit to one flavor, they do sell sample sizes as well. They are clear in their instruction and have shown again that tea can in itself be an artform. Definitely beats going to Whole Foods or the like. You may find a language barrier if you only speak English, since Mandarin seems to be their first language but aside from that the service and product is just phenomenal.

This place is the real deal! If you want to get high-quality tea, this is the place to go. I have been coming to Mountain View Tea Village for about three years now. I used to buy instant teas at places like Whole Foods, but one day I was wandering around on Castro Street and found this store! Now I never get my tea anywhere else. This is not a restaurant or a place to buy a cup of tea. This is where you buy the dried tea leaves to make tea yourself. They sell tea of almost every kind imaginable: different kinds of black tea, green tea, pu ehr tea, white tea, oolong, herbs, dried flower buds – you name it. They also sell red hibiscus tea, nothing added, in bulk by the ounce. It is delicious! I have not been able to get pure hibiscus tea anywhere else – all the other stores sell hibiscus tea with additives, flavorings, sweeteners, etc. They offer tea in both bulk as well as in packages. These are NOT your average grocery store tea. I was given a whole presentation on it in the store. The tea is grown high up in the mountains with no pollution, with a very natural processing and creates an extremely high-quality tea. Their green tea is their flagship tea and has very little caffeine in it, even less than regular green tea. Their green teas come in a variety of flavors, including jasmine, mango, lychee, passionfruit, muscat, pineapple – you name it.(I have tried practically every flavor and these are some of my favorites – there are others as well) The flavoring is not artificial and is actually the plant itself infused into the tea leaves during one stage of the processing. Best of all, the green teas allow you to do what is called«cold-steeping», where you soak the tea overnight in cold water, as opposed to a short steeping in hot water. The store owner taught me how to do this, and it makes for a delicious and flavorful cold tea – quite different and I love it! They sell all kinds of teapots there and will give you instructions on what to do with your tea. They also regularly have free samples of different teas, so you can get an idea of the different products they sell. The store itself is clean with a homey feel to it, with an Oriental décor and atmosphere. The owner and his wife are very friendly and will help you with anything you need. English is not super-great, but I’ve never had any problem finding what I wanted. If you want to up your tea-drinking experience to the next level, come check this store out!

I can’t wait to try the different teas I purchased from here. My friend and I stepped in out of curiosity yesterday, as we were right down the street and I knew I wanted to find more premium tea shops in the south bay. I didn’t know how lucky I was to find this shop! Steven is a sweet man(his wife had stepped out so we didn’t get the chance to meet her) and we both had a great time chatting with him. We ended up staying there a good hour or so. Steven is happy to share if you are willing to listen. As a newcomer to high quality teas, Steven helped me learn a lot in one visit, and made me feel comfortable in knowing that if I had any questions, I could always stop in or call the shop to ask. I am definitely coming back!

I just want to say how impressed I am by the quality of the tea sold here. I have tried two of the many teas I have purchased here a couple weeks ago. White Peach Green Oolong – This tea is great iced or hot. As the owner said, you can leave the leaves to steep in cold water overnight in the fridge(8 hours at least), and you’ll have a great cup of iced tea. This is 100% true. You instantly taste the peach flavor once you have a sip. It goes really well with the mix of green and oolong tea because the peach flavor is soft and so are the tea strengths. Also the fact that the peach flavor is natural blows me away. After having had this tea, I can’t go back to the flavored syrups anymore. Goodbye boba places if I ever am craving peach tea! Muscat Green Oolong – OMG. The grape flavor is magical. I’ve never been into grape flavored drinks, but ever since trying the White Grape Oolong at Teaspoon I love grape teas! This tea does wonders with a punch of strong, natural grape flavor. You taste the grapey goodness with every sip. Gahhh, I want to cry. I love love love both teas and can’t wait to try the other teas I have purchased from here! I am so thankful to have found this gem!

I stumbled across this tea place in Downtown Mountain View, and I’m so glad that I did! It’s a small, welcoming shop with an entire wall dedicated to their different teas. I bought a sample of their Jasmine Beauty Green Oolong tea. It came in a small, air tight bag and smelled amazing. I can confidently say that it’s the highest quality tea that I’ve ever tasted. They offer various white, black, green, and oolong teas, including some pu’erh teas that have been aged up to 16 years for a more refined taste. Their tea is on the pricier side, but the quality far exceeds the cost. They have amazing fragrances and are all loose leaf – none of their tea is of cheap quality. The shop owners are also very kind and informative, and travel to Taiwan several times a year to taste teas in order to make sure that they only supply the highest quality teas for their customers. I will be coming back for more!

I’m quite a tea fanatic and I support my local businesses when I can. This is the place to go! I came here about 2 – 3 years ago. The couple who runs the shop is so sweet! We spent the longest time exploring and smelling the teas they offered. We ended up leaving with a small pouch of pur-re tea(I think that’s how it’s spelt), 1999 and their lychee tea. We finished the pur re tea quick. I wanted to save the lychee for a special occasion. It’s vacuum packed so it’s super fresh. I’ve only recently tried it. Love it! Cold/hot. We revisited a couple days ago. We came in super quick because we knew what we wanted. We got the pur re, the 24 pack this time and peach because they said they mix it with the lychee… perfect! I just opened it. The old man told us his whole life story! The jist, at 45, he left his position as CEO of HTC because he didn’t want to be in a negative environment where people were fighting their way to the top. He wasn’t happy and wanted to fulfillment. How inspiring! I asked him if he had any regrets and he said no, he’s very happy at what he does. We also tried a bit of their 1500 $ tea they were brewing for another lady who was visiting and heard about them from her meditation group in Santa Cruz. That tea was so amazing! Apparently it has magical qualities. Most definitely check them out. Its an experience on top of good tea.

The shop owners used to be high tech executives, who decided to retire and open a tea shop. The prices are extremely reasonable and I’m able to find my favorite tea here(Taiwan High Mountain) that I have not been able to find anywhere else. I live in San Carlos and willingly make the drive down.
