Bagels are always fresh. Sandwiches are a reasonable price. I like going for coffee in the afternoon. You can avoid the Saint Francis high school crowd at Starbucks by getting your plain coffee here.

Place an order online for a business event. Not knowing what to expect, I called in the next day. Mae explained what to expect and asked me about my event. She made suggestions and when I picked up my order, I was so pleased with her presentation. The staff were friendly and helpful. I understand why this location is so popular among the local residents. BTW, this is my the first review I’ve ever posted in my life, that must mean something.

Their selection is ok at best but the quality of the food is not that impressive. A few times the eggs had tasted funny and I end up having a nasty aftertaste along with a funny feeling in my stomach. The coffee was also not that great which is a shame. After coming here 4 times, I would not recommend coming back here at all. There are better places to get a breakfast pastries or a quick meal.

Still stop in quite a bit, but the quality of the bagels has been more inconsistent lately. Came in early one morning, a few minutes before open and they were fine with it, which was cool. Got a few bagels and both were well below what the first bagels of the morning should taste like. It was weird. And, still have never gotten cream cheese here again after the layer of pink mold and puke inducing aroma that came from my last attempt at it here. Also, flies have landed on their bagels and the owner just swats them away instead of tossing the bagels they landed on. A little gross even for a savage such as myself.

This is my favorite bagel place in the south bay. I highly recommend the asiago and sesame bagels, especially when they’re fresh. Definitely come early in the morning because this place is very popular. As for the service here, I can only say good things. Very friendly every time I’ve been.

Came to visit my boyfriend in Los Altos and stopped here for lunch. Ordered a Turkey Avocado bagel sandwich on an All in One bagel. Toasted with everything on it. The key to a good bagel sandwich is the perfect bagel. The bagels here remind me of classic, NY style bagels — thick and chewy but the perfect balance. The sandwich itself was MASSIVE — great value for the price. I wish I could have tried their breakfast bagel sandwiches because those looked delicious as well. Fast, friendly service — lots of parking. I would definitely come back next time I’m in town.

First off, delicious bagels. My favorite in town. Sadly can’t say the same for their milk teas. Tried strawberry and thought, hey I’ll try something new! Bad idea. I gave this place a second chance and thought«Thai tea is a safe choice» and it tasted so weird like a combination of a few flavors. Not sure if their containers are being washed properly. I hate to throw away drinks but I couldn’t even finish either of them, they made my stomach hurt. I mean, if you’re gonna be the best in town, at least be the best at everything right? So sad. Time to go to tea era where it’s constantly good

The bagels are hand crafted for perfection and the cream cheese is fantastic. What i enjoy the most however is the sandwiches. The prototype sandwich is filled with bacon and turkey goodness. Great sandwich!!!

Great delicious tasty bagels. This is one of my favorite bagel spots! I knew about this place because it’s not too far from my workplace. They have many different variety of bagels and cream cheese you can choose from. If you’re in the mood and craving for bagels in the morning, this is a great place to check out!

I’ve only been to two of them. The one in Mountain View and the one next to San Jose State where my son was living. They have the best tasting bagels and cream cheese around.

This place has the best poppy seed bagels with butter. I stop in here whenever in the area. They also have a superb lox croissant. Definitely go there if you’re in the mood for good bagels at a great price.

Delicious bagels and cream cheese! This is one of my favorite bagel places. They have a good variety of both. Their bagels here are also larger than the other house of bagels. My only issue is they need to refill their coffee more often, but I’ll still give them 5 stars for their bagels.

I love this place. IMHO, it’s the best bagel shop in the area. I grew up in NJ and NYC so I really miss good bagels. this place does them right. it seems so easy to make a bagel, I never understood why it’s so hard to find a good one in CA. my favorite breakfast sandwich is the Baja omelet(egg, jalapeño, cheese and mushrooms) on an everything bagel. but all the others, and the spreads, are good too. they have great coffee choices too. everything is very inexpensive(except for the juices, but that’s true everywhere). the staff is very quick, pleasant and efficient. there are a couple of tables outside and more room inside. a regular stop for me on weekend mornings.

Their cream cheese spreads — holy deliciousness! Walnut-date, the light whipped variety… all delicious! The prices are a bit high, but the bagels are probably the best I’ve had on the West Coast(of course they don’t compare to bagels on the East Coast). The store is nothing fancy, kind of like a mom and pop coffee shop. Popular with lots of customers. You can also have them prepare a bagel sandwich for you and eat it there. I will be back when I’m craving bagels and cream cheese.

Great place for a good bagel. Not the best I’ve had, but really good. I usually get the bagel dog but sometimes is tastes burnt or it tastes old. Some towns they are really good. It is kinda a hit and miss. Bottom Line, great bagel place for the casual guy, not the best, but good.

Headache/backache after waking up. Post long shower still wasnt feelnig all that great but I was definitely hungry. Breakfast sandwiches to the rescue. Sausage & bacon, cheese, cheddar bagels FTW. Definitely felt a lot better after the sustenance. FOod is pretty fast and filling though not the best I’ve had, it did the trick

House of Bagels is an EASY5 stars for me. Why you inquire? I’ll do my best to explain. *Outstanding bagels — taste, consistency and selection. *Very friendly, FAST and efficient staff. *Excellent selection breakfast/lunch sandwiches. *Lox — top quality and delicious! *Wide variety of cream cheese(shmear). *Nice coffee selection — really good drip coffees. *Seating for eating in, easy parking for pick-up. HoB has been my «go to» bagel shop for many years — always GREAT! Thank you to the house that bagels built. 5 stars.

I hate to be so harsh with a place that has pretty good customer service; in case you want specifics: they’re fast, they’re friendly, they take your order before you pay… were it not for my next points, I would have probably given them five stars just for the efficient customer service alone. However, there are a couple of things that really drive me nuts about this place: — It is ALWAYS a 50 – 50 shot whenever I come here for a pesto bagel(which is 90% of the time) that they actually have it, which is pretty irritating. It makes it worse that most of the time, there is someone else in line who also wanted one, because then clearly, it’s one of their more popular bagels. I just don’t understand how it’s a good business strategy not to make an abundant supply of one of your more popular bagels. — Another qualm about this place is that the«egg» that they use for their breakfast bagel sandwiches etc. is just liquid egg starter. I’m sorry to be picky but for a place that is supposedly«the best bagel shop in the area,» I expect the real deal. While the lunch bagel sandwiches are good, I feel like there should be the same attention to detail, if not more, with the breakfast ones as bagels are more of a breakfast item. I took off two stars for each of the problems above. I may be overly picky with this review, but as I mentioned, for a bagel shop that is supposedly«the best one in Mountain View», aka better than Posh, I feel like they should be close to perfection.
