Not very helpful. I needed assistance dealing with crisis management. I was very clear on my goals. After several months, two counselors and paying for the sessions myself, I gave up trying to get any sort of useful assistance here. Instead of support and concrete methods on crisis management, I was told my problems were all in my head. Way to kick a person when they’re down and in crisis. If you have a serious problem, you won’t get help here. Don’t waste your time and money.

This place is AWESOME! My daughter was on a wait list for a few months and as soon as space became available, we were assigned to an intern. Although at first I felt she was very young, my daughter instantly connected with her. She was amazing and used art therapy. My daughter learned to express her feelings through art and through her own creativity. My daughter absolutely loves this place. In addition to a great counselor, the administration staff is very nice. The weight room has magazines and books. The new location provides more rooms. The only downfall is the intern did not have an email address or direct phone number or voicemail. Sometimes to get a hold of her(cancel an appointment, reschedule, or request something), I would have to leave a message with the receptionist and the counselor and I will play phone tag for a while. We eventually begin using the counselors personal email, and cell. It was so much easier this way but felts so bad because it was her personal information. My daughter saw her counselor/intern for two years. I highly recommend this place to parents– CHAC truly cares about your child.

What a wonderful place. I’ve taken my relative here several times for sliding-scale cost therapy by top notch therapists. Their new location is great — love the fact they works with small kids up to adults. Kinda one-stop-shop for therapy in Mt. View. It’s great to have a center like this in heart of Silicon Valley. Only problem — I want to play in the sand tray every time I go there ;-).
