Went on a trout fishing trip to the Chattooga River and needed somewhere to get a bite afterwards. Saw this place and wasnt sure exactly what types of food they would have but the place seemed inviting. It was getting late for the mountains for supper but they were open so I went on in. No one in the place and no greeter as she had gone in the back for something. I spied a menu and just had a seat. They had more than just burgers here. Seafood and more. But I settled in on a ribeye steak with a salad and a loaded baked potato. Some sweet tea and I was set. The food was fresh, cooked well, and the staff was friendly. Saw they had peanut butter pie on their dessert list but they were out. Guess that happens when something is good :-) I’ll definitely stop here again next time and have already recommended it to a family member that has a cabin over in Clayton.

Whenever I take hikes up in the Mountain Rest area, I stop in for lunch or dinner at this café. They used to be located farther up 28 but they are now at the junction of 107 and 28. The Mountain Burger is my favorite, the fried chicken is good too. On Friday night I usually have the prime rib!
