We’ve lived in Mountain Ranch since 2004, in Calaveras since 1995, and even back then we dealt with Sender’s for a garage. Sender’s family is one of the biggest assets this community has, and the hardware and market give the best service they can. It was no surprise to me that they provided great support after the Butte fire, and still are. Sender’s backs this community like few other businesses can, and we greatly appreciate that.

At Sender’s market you will find the heartbeat of the Mountain Ranch community. Even before the Butte fire this was a tightknit community and area. After the fire it is even more so. Check out the photos of all the bulletin boards hung out front of the store to either offer aid to fire victims or for fire victims to post their needs and wants. The outpouring of help from those that survived the fire and all the involved agencies is incredible.
Sender’s is a one-​stop shop for the area. Everything from groceries to fresh fruits and vegetables to barbed wire and electrical poles… they have it all. And they have competent employees to help you, too.
Over the last 50 or so years Sender’s has been the last stop for food and supplies for us on the way to the cabin. Now they are aiding in our recovery process by building a new power pole to replace the one that was burned.
If you are in the area, stop by. I think you will be impressed by this community general store.

A fantastic store and even better people. No matter what happens, the Sender family steps up to the plate and does the right thing, everytime. The stores, the family and employees are great assests to the whole county. Senders, you rock!

Perhaps the ultimate store. Where else can you shop for groceries while your chain saw is being repaired? They are a grocery store and a hardware store; and the amazing part is they are excellent at both. Great groceries, especially the meats. The staff is friendly, helpful and gives you a shopping experience that I haven’t seen elsewhere in decades. The prices are competitive and the service is outstanding– Safeway could take some lessons from Sender’s.
The hardware store is very well stocked and the staff knowledgeable. They have fair pricing, in line with other ACE hardware stores. I recently had a piece of Stihl equipment repaired here and Sender’s handled the whole thing, including the warranty claim, in an outstanding manner. Good as new when I got it back. The dealer I originally purchased the unit from in the Bay Area never treated me particularly well and certainly not as well as Sender’s did. So, I know where I’m buying all my small power equipment from now on.
When friends from the Bay Area stop up to visit, they make sure to stop at Sender’s to stock up on meats, etc. I’m not even sure they come to visit me anymore– I think they’re really there for Sender’s.

The store and hardware store are incredible. They have everything. The people are all wonderful and always friendly. Great deli sandwiches. The hardware store has supplied a lot of material for our house over the years. Great place to shop.

If you live in Calaveras County and haven’t been to Senders, you’re really missing out! Don’t let the small building fool you they have a great selection and their employees are really helpful. I found a spackle there that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. They have consistently had the items I’ve needed for my repair projects, and I love shopping for groceries there too. Great meat department there, and their prices on boxed/​canned foods are very reasonable too.

This store has it all! It’s really like 4 stores in one — Groceries, hardware, lumber, and feed! The clerks are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful — and super-​nice too! The deli is fabulous — best meat I’ve gotten anywhere in the county. Every Friday they BBQ tri-​tip and ribs to die for! We love their home made take-​and-​bake pizzas, too. For a small grocery, there’s a little something for everyone! Love Senders — it was the first place I ever went to in Mountain Ranch, and everyone there went all out to make me feel right at home! Definitely worth a visit! :)

The best of the best. You’ll never find a better sandwich counter, better hardware store and a better place to shop for groceries on a Sunday.
Our whole house was build from supplies from the hardware store, house and property maintained from their supplies and refrigerator stocked with groceries from their store. They show an interest in making sure that a wide variety of products are carried, even for such a small market, they carry an excellent variety of beers and they are around to answer your questions.
Don’t look for some hokey, upscale, mood lit grocery store with an ambiance, because you ain’t gonna find it here. Senders is a real deal and a place that locals love and will continue to support from now until forever.

I got their «Italian PIcnic Sandwhich» when I was passing through the other day. Excellent sandwich! Lots of meat and other stuff too. :)

we’ve had our place in Mt Ranch for 14 years and I have to say, sometimes I shop here to bring groceries home to the Bay Area, prices are great and their meat counter is way better than Lucky’s or Safeway. They have everything from nuts to bolts in the hardware area and everything you could possibly want in the grocery section… a definite 1 stop shop!

For Mountain Ranch, this is definitely as good as it gets! And it’s good. I just have to fully support my real hometown local general store :-) This is the only one in town, so make use of it. Down to earth staff, great location in the center of town, and a great stop for a snack, and/​or necessities on the way up to visit my parents in the mountains. Also great for hardware stuff, dog food (they have the good stuff –Diamond Naturals!), and lumber (Dad used to frequent the lumber yard, and I used to love the forklift boys who worked there in high school!!!).

and I called all over from valley Springs to Oakdale… Well someone suggested Senders, so I thought well, it is always worth trying,
If you can get a better price,
Well Not only did I get a better price.
The Customer service was Par Excellence! Marilyn was Fantastic answering my many phone calls and always with a cheerful voice

3÷29÷10 update: They had PBR this pastt weekend — canned no less!!!
The best store ever, ever, EVER. Except, to Christian Y., they don’t sell PBR!
