Super disappointed in this establishment. A friend gave my boyfriend a gift certificate. We called to make reservations only to be told our certificate is no longer valid, as it was past the 12 month mark. Sorry to tell you Subas but tennessee law says you have to accept it for 5 years. «Tennessee has a law that allows gift card issuers to decline a card once the card is considered abandoned property. We have determined that specific provision of Tennessee law is inconsistent with federal law and that gift cards covered by the federal law must be honored for at least five years.» Even after trying to reason with the person on the other end of the phone, we were turned away. So they just made 50.00 for doing nothing. Way to go Subas you get the jerk of the year award. Here is the link to look up the law your self

My family and I dined here with a party of ten. My husband ordered the trout and enjoyed his meal very much. I ordered the pesto and it was just okay. The rest of our party also felt their meal was just okay. It seems that the menu is just too large and meals aren’t being perfected. For instance, the pesto sauce had a very nice flavor but it was too much sauce for the amount of pasta. It was too overpowing and therefore less enjoyable. I wouldn’t come back because the prices do not match the quality of dining this establishment offered us. The reviews on here led us to expect much more but when we left only my husband seemed to have enjoyed his meal fully. The place is very clean and the bathrooms are spotless. It’s kid friendly.

Just ate here upon reading the reviews. I would not return. The food was just okay. I had the shrimp scallops and trout cake. I’m a shrimp lover and theirs had very little flavor. We had a party of ten and the waitress was not attentive. She reached over three people to hand out a dish and didn’t clean up the table after soup and salad. The bread and butter took forever to come out. I guess they didn’t want to have to offer seconds. There were too many issues for a good review but the most important was the lack a a great meal especially when the prices are not cheap. We never have an issue with high pricing if the meal is worth it. We are just looking for a delicious meal. Oh oh also the waitress called out to us while we’re we still eating to ask if we wanted dessert. The pricing was too steep for just an ok meal.

I have eaten here many times over the course of the last several years. I am always surprised at how they manage to make everything taste so good. I have never gotten a meal here that was less than outstanding. The food is fantastic, and the service is even better. Make sure that you save room for desert!

This restaurant was recommended to us by some friends. We went with another couple for dinner today and we all agreed that we would DEFINITELY be returning real soon. The food was absolutely delicious, from the soup to the main course and the exquisite desserts. The ambiance and décor made you feel at home, but the accent on this fabulous experience was the warmth and friendly treatment we received from our server, Miranda who was a real joy to deal with and who was very attentive. We got the chance to meet the owners who made you feel welcomed and who were extremely pleasant. This is truly a one of a kind restaurant!

OK. I see all the good reviews of Suba’s. Five stars aplenty. One person rated it the #1 restaurant in East TN. Really? Sorry, maybe the best in Mountain City. The pickings of places to eat good food are slim.(There is good pork barbeque in Mountain City– sans the sauce.) While there are many items on the Suba’s menu the breadth and creativity are limited. The quality of my one meal was just OK. I did not get dessert. Suba’s needs moving into the 21st century. Go down to Asheville and get some insight into good food. Or go down to Boone, NC and check out The Hob Nob.

I’ve been here a handful of times. Everything I’ve gotten has been amazing. Try the pecan salmon! Oh and be sure to save room for one of their amazing desserts!
