Heard about this place on Unilocal.I must say this is probably the best ice cream I’ve ever ate. They make it on the premises. Tons of flavored to choose from. The cones are crazy big and the cost small. My cone was three scoops high and only cost $ 1.75 on a sugar cone. I give it 5 stars

I’m a little biased, since I spent my high school summers sitting on the picnic tables out front until it got dark, but ten years later, it still holds up. One scoop is still more than enough ice cream for a sane person, waffle cones are still delicious, and they’ve expanded their seating and non-​ice cream options. The butter pecan is better than I remember (somehow), but I was getting serious order envy at my friend who ordered a sundae. For the price, there’s nothing better in Mt. Vernon.

Outstanding ice cream. Really great prices. Good atmosphere. Great for families and kid friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating available.

GIANT SERVINGS!!! Two one scoop comes for me and the wife. They were giant and tasted amazing. And for only five bucks total you can’t best it. Come get it!

The Dairy is by far the best ice cream around and their prices are almost robbery. All the flavors are hand-​made on location. If you want ice cream, this is the place to be.

If you like bang for your buck when it comes to ice cream, The Dairy is definitely the place for you. The prices are low because the ambiance is nothing to write home about. However, you don’t mind the fact that it’s a hole-​in-​the-​wall dive because when you order your one scoop of whatever homemade flavor of ice cream you like in a waffle cone you will be licking your chops for awhile. Don’t make the mistake to order two dips on your first trip because it may be a large enough portion to put an average size person into a food coma. One dip at The Dairy is equal to three scoops at most chains. And the cost? Less than $ 2! If you can’t make up your mind what flavor you want, just ask for a sample and they’ll oblige. And, you can always suggest the ingredients for a new flavor and they might just make it. So many great options to choose from, but my personal favorites in no particular order are: Carrot Cake, Chocolate Marshmallow, Smurf, Chocolate Carmel Cashew, and Black Raspberry.

I’m amazed that no one has reviewed this place yet! My grandparents live in Mount Vernon and this is one of our must stops! The ice cream and shakes here are out of this world. Prices are amazingly low (compared to Orlando) and the service is always wonderful. In a three day vacation in September of 2011 we went twice. Try the Oreo tornado or the Black Raspberry shake. My grandma’s favorite is the Black Walnut ice cream. You will not be disappointed!
