I’ve been dealing with hives and facial swelling for 2 years now. I finally was able to receive health insurance and after 8 weeks was able to actually see a doctor. Before I had any tests done, or really even before he knew all my symptoms, this doctor already had a medication plan for me.
He brushed off the idea that this could be caused by an outside element and started telling me how I’m basically allergic to myself. He started telling me it could be Lupis or cancer or some other bizarre tumors running inside my blood stream letting off histamines. I agreed to the tests with the understanding that if my insurance doesn’t cover it, I can’t do it. Ever test came back to «abnormally normal». I was in his office for 6 hours with a 40 minute lunch break. Even with the negative test results he still wanted me to take his miracle drugs that he uses himself!
Then I went in for a follow up. After sitting in the patient room for over an hour with no one to check on me or to inform me why the doctor had not been in to see me, I finally left.
Now I’m writing this with a swollen eye and legs covered in hives and I’m not sure what to do next.
