Great Italian food. Light and tender gnocchi, delightful sauces, wonderful sour dough beard with garlic butter. Minestrone soup full of fresh veggies, nice house Chianti. Service was excellent!

Without question the best dinner house in Mt. Shasta. You wouldn’t think you could get primo oysters in such a landlocked town, but they get ‘em fresh from WA and they are superb. As is the service. I have come here several times a year for at least 6 years, and the staff is still the same. That says they enjoy working here. They all help each other. The bartender busses tables, serves dishes to ensure they are hot, and on and on. They are a team… a family. I have tried many things from the menu — everything is great. Come. Relax. Enjoy.

Very disappointed. Not like it use to be years ago. There was four of us for dinner and two were served their meal and 20 minutes later the other two were served. The antipasto was skimpy and they didn’t even serve parmesan cheese with the Minestrone soup. I had the chicken Parm and I think it was frozen and just recooked. So tough, dry and tasteless I could hardly eat it. The sauce on top of the Parm was basically a can of tomato soup. My wife had the ribeye steak and she said it was good but a large portion was left over based on being pure fat which about half the steak Quite a shame since this is the last family style Italian since the Piedmonte closed which was a great place.

After searching reviews of the restaurants in Shasta City we decided that try Mike & Tony’s. Glad we did. We had a great meal and excellent service. Our waitress gave us some history of the restaurant which was interesting and some suggestion on things to do in the area. Although the build was old it was very nice inside and had a relaxing atmosphere. We had our meal family style with large bowls of soup and salad then our individual pasta dishes brought out. Warm sour dough bread with garlic butter to put on it kept coming. We truly enjoyed the meal. Will definitely go back when in the area.

My husband and I love coming to Mike and Tony’s. The ambience is so fun– they’ve got a fantastic bar and Lorraine is one of our favorite waitresses. She is always so friendly and very good at her job. Their Parmesan chicken is massive and perfectly cooked! I also really love the chicken piccata. If you’re in the mood for a refreshing alcoholic beverage, try their gin fizz! Mmmm! So tasty :-) oh and if you come on Sunday for brunch, get the blueberry pancakes. They are outstanding!

Food is meh. Not worth the price. They would be better to do fewer menu items. Decent wine list.

We loved the food at this place, but it was crowded and way, way understaffed. All two(yes, two) servers were running like chickens with their heads cut off, but were really sweet and pleasant handling the sizeable ski crowd. They played hostess, waitress and bussed the tables. WTF! What kind of ghoulish, cheap assed bastards run this place? And… What Italian restaurant doesn’t serve cannoli? We have been here several times and nothing compares with our first visit several years ago. We are done with Mike and Tonys. I would like the owner to reply to this post and give me a contact number. Too bad that a place I really loved has gone down hill with the service.

Our favorite Italian Restaurant by far. We always stop in here for dinner when we are in town. The Pesto is absolutely delicious, their calamari is perfectly battered, light and delicious. We always order family style and have plenty of left overs. Love this spot.

Great food Horrible service Had a reservation for 6 pm sat down waited 20 min till we saw are waitress The restaurant was a third full no excuses When we placed our drink order it took 20 min to get our first drink! Our appetizer came before our first drink! Food took FOREVER to start coming and we had to ask for everything over and over, we tried to get a second drink and 20 min later it came The waitress did not even ask if we wanted dessert she just dropped the bill and left. We went to Rite Aid for ice cream The owners need to know they are loosing money BTW an Italian restaurant should have a better pasta sauce and rigatoni was embarrassment Shame on you Mike and Tony you need to step up your game

Four stars for great food and nice service. We were offered a table as soon as we walked in and were charmed by the older décor. Our waitress was very nice and friendly and offered her suggestions of what was available on their menu. The prices seemed reasonable and we were in a pasta mood, so we ordered some tortellini and pasta carbonara. They offer a $ 3 «family style» upgrade, which is nothing more than a soup and their take on «antipasta salad.» The soup was great but the antipasta was very lacking. All it consisted of was three salami, four olives, some beats and prosciutto. Again, all very tasty but very skimpy.(Yes, you ought to look for quality over quality but this was so lacking in the quantity that it seemed comical.) One item that was amazing: their butter. They offered a pesto-like butter to go with their bread and this was perhaps the best part of the whole meal(except for the pastas themselves). Amazing. Go there for that. As for the pastas, they were great. Very tasty, rich and well-worth any of my above observations/criticisms. After we’ve stopped by other restaurants in the area, we would go back. Thanks!

Been there 70 years… must be good. and it is. Obviously Italian. Great menu, but beware a $ 3 split charge if you take the«FAMILYOPTION» which includes great soup and salad. Uneven wait staff… a little slow in service.

Kudos to Loraine for her awesome service. Maybe the best minostrome at this place. Do try the family style plate. The bar was great too. Overall great experience in mike and tony’s.

Grey beard and Thelma breaking up the road trip home in Shasta City. We had a little craving for Italian. Great classic restaurant, with Frank Sinatra crooning in the background. At first, it was an automatic thumbs down, as we waited for even an acknowledgement from the server. Then the bartender extrodinaire, Ashley, saved the night. Great smile, excellent service from then on. I had the chicken marsala. Perfectly pounded, not to sweet or buttery. Just right. Grey beard had the chicken parmesan. «Wonderful with tangy and not too much cheese, portions were modest, side vegetables aldente.» Pasta side dish was a creamy red sauce that had to be soaked with the warm french bread. Wine was Toscana Sangiovese and chianti. Both excellent. 3 stars because of initial service. 4 stars for the food and Ashley.

We were looking for a home style local meal with local flair– they really nailed it. We have three under 7, and they were accommodating beyond reason. I had the eggplant parm, wife had the ravioli. Both were great for the price, and the family style option is a huge value(especially since they encourage you to share with your kids). Kids had the pizzas, which were hand made for each of them, and they all finished them entirely(this after claiming they were not hungry…) Especially great minestrone… Do not miss this great value. This place really hit the spot for a tired family– great people. Completely exceeded our expectations.

To all the naysayers… go back to Olive garden and leave this Iconic Italian eatery in the heart of Mt Shasta for those who are looking for an experience other then the prepackaged, chain store, run-of-the-mill, spaghetti factory! Able to withstand the ups and downs of one of the most challenging industries out there, food and beverage, Mike and Tony’s still offers a great experience with great food and charming staff. Have eaten here twice in the last month or two and look forward to my next visit. Whether your in the mood for a classic meatball and marinara or an appetizer of fried ravioli Mike and Tony’s has if figured out. But alas if bottomless salad bowls and endless breadsticks define your understanding of northern California Italian dishes then pretty sure Mike and Tony’s is not for you…:)

Only giving one star because there is no option to give a zero. Walking in this placed didn’t even smell like a place I would want to eat. It smelt extremely dirty with a faint hint of old fish. We decided to give it a chance, but quickly began to regret our decision as the dinner progressed. First off, the waitress we had was pleasant but never smiled once the whole time we were there. She kept«forgetting» multiple things and it began to be irritating at how spacey she was. Second, we got our appetizers(which were far less than appetizing). Minestrone soup that tasted like something fresh out of a spaghettio’s can, salad that was coated with a nice gritty kitty litter taste, and the antipasti contained a pepper with a few slices of salami straight from a bag and an olive. As you can see, not off to a great start. Third, dinner rolled around & to our surprise(not really) one person was left without dinner for a good 30 – 45 minutes, and many people at the table were missing multiple parts of their entrée. The waitress copped it up to being busy… Yeah I’m sure they were busy… Five whole tables in the whole restaurant is difficult to manage… *rolls eyes*. The entrees were tiny, one bite and it was half gone. Not only small but DISGUSTING beyond words! The Alfredo was tasteless and watery. Half the pepper shaker and an entire bowl of Parmesan cheese couldn’t save this meal. It was absolutely AWFUL!!! After 3 hours of waiting around, drinks empty ¾ of the time, it was time to pay but the waitresses couldn’t even get that right. She had to alter the bill 3 times and it still wasn’t right… Finally just gave up and left. I will never ever eat here again!!! It was one of the worst dinner experiences of my life. I advise you to avoid this place at all costs! Very disappointing!

Stopped in for a negroni, left when the bartender began arguing loudly with a patron about guns and then proceeded to PULLONEOUT(from behind the bar? His pocket?) to display for the crowd. In a town based in hippy dippy spiritualism, in an establishment where your money is made on happy customers, it seems like poor bartending, at the very least.
