My review is focused primarily on the dozen or so Artistry Massages that I’ve received from spa owner and principal massage therapist, Janee Malan.
I received my first Artistry Massage from Janee in 2004 when Evergreen Day Spa was part of Mount Shasta Resort and located in a converted Chalet. I had come to Mount Shasta for my annual visit, but on this visit I had come with a broken heart longing for a lost girlfriend. I decided to book a massage at Evergreen while staying at Mount Shasta Resort because it reminded me of my last visit with my ex-​girlfriend where we stayed and both had received massages before.
On this auspicious visit I had the great fortune of meeting the then new owner Janee and receiving an Artistry Massage from her. My soul was sad and my spirit broken, not to mention that my body so much needed some TLC. Janee and I quietly talked as she proceeded to give me one of The Best massages I’ve ever received. She used a combination of Swedish and other modalities, hot stones and essential oils along my spine. I could sense that she was in alignment with the energy pattern and rhythm of my body as she worked exactly the right spot on each muscle that ached.
What I remember most about that experience was how compassionate and how sensitive and also powerful Janee was in my massage. I think I cried quite a bit actually when my face was down in the face cradle. When my hour and a half massage was completed, Janee said to me «this massage is a gift from me to you». I was already buzzing all over from the totally transformative and healing massage she had just given, and now gifting the whole thing to me was a tremendous act of generosity. I have never forgotten that act of kindness.
I have received several hundred massages in my lifetime from the best spas and resorts in the world. I know what a great massage feels like and what a great massage experience is. I come back to Janee at Evergreen on every visit to Mount Shasta sometimes twice a year. If massage was an Olympic event, Janee Malan would not only make the Olympic team, she would win the Olympic Gold Medal. Janee is that good.
Evergreen has since moved to a new main street location in Mt. Shasta City and Janee has added her impeccable taste and charm to the new building. There is also an intangible aspect to both Janee’s massages and her presence. Janee has an angelic quality to her and it really comes out in her gifted touch and it just emanates from her.
If Unilocal allowed 5 ½ stars, that is what I would give Janee Malan and her new Evergreen Day Spa.

Ehhh. They said they’d be able to do my wedding party’s nails the day before my ceremony, no problem. The women there were very nice. BUT we were there for 4 hours because the spa is so tiny, and we all had to take turns getting hands/​feet done.
Other thing is that they said they could do gel polish, and the gel wasn’t done properly. My mom got a french manicure done, and the white polish was done with regular polish instead of gel. Problem with this is that the regular polish wrinkles under the gel, and it looks bad. My mom had to go back to get her nails fixed before my wedding. Since hers started to wrinkle, I decided not to get a french manicure, which is what I wanted for my wedding day. Instead I got a pale pink, and I didn’t like the way it looked.

I had the gentlemen’s facial after camping on the mountain and before a long drive down to Sac and couldn’t have imagined a better experience for the price.
It is a lovely, well-​kept facility tucked into the woods, but easily accessible from the freeway. They have private rooms for massage/​facials that are lightly lit with soothing music.
I wish I could have afforded to tip more, because she tailored the session to my needs. I got great facial massages with each product that was quite relaxing. I got a great, refreshing shoulder massage as the mask was drying.
They use really good, naturally-​derived skin products that are easy on the skin. I would have enjoyed some blemish removal, but that is more of a technical procedure and not nearly as relaxing. So head over to the evergreen day spa next time you are in the area for an appropriately-​priced pampering.

Terrible terrible terrible!!! My mom and I booked a mani-​pedi while we stayed here for a friends wedding. Our appointment was at 10, but they didnt even seat us until 10:45. My mom ended up only getting the manicure because she had plans at 11:30. The lady who did my pedicure didn’t know what she was doing at ALL. I brought my own nail kit because I don’t want to use anybody else’s tools, but she refused to use it and said it was against the law? Not true. Then she used tools that OBVIOUSLY were used to file other peoples nails. When she was trimming my cuticles she pushed them back so far they bled. My nails were cut in a jagged pattern. The scrub she used on my legs stung badly and the water was boiling hot. As she started painting my french tip i was amazed at how bad she was doing it. I finally asked her to just do a color. When she was done there was polish all over my skin, some areas not even painted on my nails. When she was done with my pedicure she just walked away and didnt say anything, so I just figured i’ll pull out the tissue between my toes myself and put on my flip flops myself. I went to sit down for my manicure and she asked if I wanted anything to drink so I asked for a water. She never brought it. Finally I just asked for a manicure but no polish. She did a terrible job just like on my feet, leaving the tops of my nails rough and thin. During this whole thing the girl at the front desk who was a massage therapist was answering the phone and talking to people who wanted to book appointments very rudely. She constantly messed up with the scheduling and I soon realized the story behind having to wait so long even though we had appointments.
I hope I don’t get an infection from this place. Ended up paying for a french tip mani+pedi and only got my toes painted from what looked like a 3 year old.

My husband and I booked an artistry massage for couples and used a voucher we purchased on Groupon. WHAT a deal! Jenna was my massage therapist. I have a dozen massages in the past year and this was quite possibly the best I have ever had! Jennifer was the other massage therapist. Both are very talented therapists. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy! What a treat.

Great place! Very relaxed feel. Message room was the best I’ve ever been in. Would go again.

Upon entering the spa, you will notice a nice and serene environment. So calming and they play very relaxing music. Someone was helping another customer with a pedicure and I was a bit jealous, to tell you the truth! Love all the herbal scents and the Buddha statues everywhere. Favorite!
My friend and I booked the «Hot Stone and Essential Oil Therapy» massage through a deal with got on «Living Social» and really enjoyed it. The only vice was that my friend booked an appointment and confirmed it about 3 weeks ago only to find that we weren’t in the books when we arrived. The massage therapists were quick to add us onto the schedule (so we only waited 30 minutes) and got ourselves a room to share).
My massage therapist was amazing. She did a spectacular job and made me feel so good. I honestly felt 100% better after the hot stone. Never would I have imagined that hot stones could do wonders to my back. The oils added a great touch as well and even though there were times when I felt like it was a bit rough around my shoulders, it all melted away seconds later. She did wonders!
I will definitely recommend this place to a friend. Also, loved that they had free biscottis and cupcakes on their counter! I ate two! With my Living Social coupon of $ 50, I only paid extra $ 35 + tip so I felt that it was an awesome deal! See you soon!

I must ditto the other positive reviews I read here. Staying at Mt. Shasta resort (booked through Groupon special, see other review of the resort) and booked a «Artistry» massage at Evergreen, which more than lived up to its name. I was fortunate to get the owner, Jenae (think I spelled that correctly), who was absolutely fantastic. She asked about trouble spots and I expected her to focus there, but turns out she focused on every part of me and told me at the end that I REALLY needed the massage. I’m sore, but delightfully so. I’ve had massages at many different places, and this one was one of the best. Ambiance was warm and welcoming, guests and staff friendly, and I felt wonderful when I was done. Hope that I can come back soon.

We had a wonderful vacation at Mt. Shasta Resort mad really special by our treatments at the spa.
The spa is a relaxing, soft music, décor excellent, and the treatments wonderful.
We had facials that made our skins feel radiant. Then hot stone massages, what can I say ! This was the best massage every, I highly recommend this treatment.
Staff was friendly and called us back immediately after receiving our phone call. A must if you are in the Shasta Area.

Our vacation in Mt Shasta was made spectacular by the fantastic staff at Evergreen Spa! Though appointments are suggested, I called last minute in the morning to get a massage with my spouse and they said no problem. They re-​arranged the schedule and got us both in at the time we requested! I enjoyed their service so much I went back two additional times that week!
They have a great room for couples to receive treatments together, various forms of massage, hot stone, shiatsu, facials, manicure, and pedicure services for men and women.
The space is warm and inviting and the staff is really delightful. If you appreciate great customer service, these folks know what they are doing. Best spa I have been to in years and so very affordable.
We LOVED our experiences there and will definitely be returning!

I spent a few days last week at the Mt. Shasta Resort on Lake Siskiyou near Mt. Shasta (of course). While I was there, I splurged on a facial and a massage. The facilities are great, soft music, plush towels and all of the accouterments. The Spa itself is just off the «Circle», in the area with the Lakeside Chalets.
First, I had a classic facial with Candice, a Certified Esthetician who trained in San Diego and recently moved to Mt. Shasta. Candice did a great job. Very relaxing, my skin felt refreshed. She told me about her products, but didn’t do a hard sell — which I appreciated. $ 75 for about an hour.
Later in the day, I came back for a 1 ½ hour massage with Bette, also Certified (CMT). I had ordered a Swedish, but Bette (after discussion) did something between a Swedish and a Deep Tissue massage. I told her that I didn’t like to chat during massage and she didn’t! Kudos for that. Her touch was sure and strong. She really zeroed in on the places that needed it. I was wobbling when I walked back to my chalet. $ 100 for 1.5 hrs — wow!
Top recommendations to the Spa, as well as Candice and Bette. Note: You have to call separate lines for skin care and massage, but never fear, they call back quickly. I’d recommend reviewing the website so that you know exactly what you want when you call.
