Pollina Landscaping was originally hired to do landscaping work in the front and back of our house. This looks great! New trees and bushes in back, cleared-out all the overgrown bushes in front and replaced with a clean look(serviceberry tree and boxwoods) — the design in front can be added-to at a later time with additional items. Their landscape designer is top-notch, and proposed items that suited our color wishes as well as amount of upkeep we are willing to do. While Joe Pollina and his crew was on-site for the landscaping, we asked about 2 issued we’d been having with water coming into our basement: 1) our back yard has a slight pitch toward our house and when it rains hard it’s like a river flowing into our house 2) our neighbor got a new driveway last year, which is also slightly pitched toward the side of our house. also like a river flowing into our house in a heavy rain. Joe Pollina recommended a combination solution: drain tiles and drains along the side of the house to catch the neighbor’s driveway water, and catch basins, timbers, and a swale along the back of our house. Worked great! It’s miraculous — 2 other companies that specialize in flooding/basement issues said they couldn’t help us. Pollina devised a solution that works, even in heavy rain(2 inches in a couple of hours). No more water flowing into our basement, either in back or along the side. i highly recommend Tommy Pollina landscaping, both for landscaping needs and also for water solutions. They did a great job with both, and their staff/workers are highly professional.

Hired to fix drainage problems around my house. One year later I still have a lake in between my house and the neighbors and the sod has all sunk where they ran the drainage pipes. Joe tells me this is normal. I would not recommend this company. I wish I could post pictures. I have now hired someone else to fix what I paid over $ 5,000 to Polina to fix

Don’t hire them! The minute you sign a contract and give them a deposit, they disappear. You can’t get the owner to return your calls, and no one in the office ever knows what’s going on. I hired them to replace my old front walk, a relatively simple job. The owner was supposed to bring samples of the bricks/pavers, so I could make a selection. He never came, but he did send a crew, entirely unannounced, with jackhammers, who dug up my old sidewalk. They had been given pavers to use that I had not selected, and that were nothing like what I had said I wanted. Luckily, I was home, so I was able to run outside and order them to stop, but not before they had destroyed my old sidewalk. What should have been an easy 2-day job turned into weeks of stress. The crew left before the job was completed, and I have been unable to get them to return. I was smart enough to have paid by credit card, and I actually filed a dispute to cancel my payment, something I’ve never done before. I’ve lived in my house for 34 years, and I’ve hired lots of service companies, providing just about any kind of service you can imagine, from landscapers to roofers, plumbers and painters, but I’ve never had any dealings as frustrating and disappointing as this one. One of this company’s employees has done his best to try to fix the mess left behind by the original crew, by stopping by on his way to or from work, on his own time. He’s patched up the mistakes, and I’m appreciative, but it’s still a job badly done. I ended up paying, mostly because of the efforts of that employee, and also because I just want to be done with this horrible company. If you hire Tommy Pollina Landscaping to do any work for you, don’t say you haven’t been warned: they’re the absolute worst. Caveat Emptor.

Undependable. They do great work when they show up, but it’s always a crap shoot, you never know when or if they will show. I now have a yard covered in snow and ice with frozen rose plants, shrubs, and bushes undrneath. Why you ask? Because they never came to do the fall clean up as promised. It was booked in April when I did the Spring clean-up, confirmed in August, followed up on the week before Thanksgiving and here it is December 14th and it’s quite obvious this isn’t going to happen at this point. I called last week to see what happened and I haven’t heard back from anyone. Thanks Tommy Pollina! My yard looks awesome. NOT.

Great and dependable service, clean and neat, and they are more than willing to please. Did quite a few projects with them over the last 4 years with great results. The planting designs are great, had a wonderful experience with their Brick work, Drive, Patio, and Deck area, and the maintence work was great.
