I came in for a Brazilian bikini wax, and am the biggest baby ever. Lucy is the BEST. She took time with me, calmed me the whole way through, and is so incredibly detail oriented. I will be back often for this service and others. Clean, professional and amazing results.

Konrad is absolutely amazing! He did a fantastic job on my cut and color. He knows all of the latest trends and will fulfill your needs/​wants for your hair. I truly love this place! All of the employees are so sweet and professional. Lucy is amazing at what she does! It’s basically painless (yes you heard that correctly) and I just adore Lucy (the owner) she will honestly make you very comfortable and right at ease. I can only speak for my 1 experience at Lucyna’s. I got a mani-​pedi by Alexa and she was fantastic. I would definitely go back because of how great she was.

This is my go-​to place for waxing. They use top quality products, and the wax sticks to your hair, not your skin. Lucy is my technician (the owner), and she is very thorough and extremely pleasant to chat with. I would highly recommend Lucyna’s for all of your waxing needs. The salon is very quaint and peaceful… a true neighborhood gem.

Konrad is some kind of wonderful sorceror of hairdressing. Go visit him at once. I will use him for the rest of my life.

What a great place! The interior décor is clean and adorable. There’s parking right by the building, and the location is easy to find. The music they played while there was enjoyable.
Lucy did my leg wax and Brazilian wax and it went great; she was fantastic and made the experience go by smoothly and with zero stress. It is worth mentioning that the wax that she uses is fantastic, it was less painful than other waxes I have had (from other places). Lucy is incredibly friendly and I felt immediately at ease with her.
I was also impressed that they gave me a little aloe gel to take home with me to continue to apply to my freshly waxed self.
I will definitely be returning for future waxing services, as well as to try other offered services (such as manicures or facials).

I’ve had my bikini wax there many times along with my full henna (which is a eyelash & eyebrow tint) and I’ve been very pleased every time. The salon feels very homey which I like, not at all modern and cold. All of the employees I’ve interacted with are very friendly!

I made an appointment with Jackie (a student). I got a color correction to an ombré situation gone so terribly wrong. Jackie was so thoughtful and knowledgable about which colors to use and how to fix the mess on my head.
Not only is she great with technique, but she is also extremely passionate about her work. She takes her time and makes sure she understands what you want. She offers insightful and creative suggestions on how to best find a look that’s right for you.
Not only was it a wonderful experience, it was super affordable.
I would absolutely recommend Lucyna’s (but definitely ask for Jackie).

I got a Brazilian at Lucyna’s with Tatiana. This was my first time here. I have only had one wax before this at a different salon to compare it to.
Pros:
–salon was easy to find and pretty inside
–reception was great
–a Brazilian was only $ 50
–Tatiana made me feel comfortable and understand what she was doing (she was also hilarious)
–she offered to get rid of the hair on my stomach for no additional charge
–she was thorough and did a great job
–Tatiana offered me a discount on Brazilians for each return visit
Cons:
–the procedure took almost an hour.
–appointments were running about 15 minutes late when I was there
Bottom line: Although the wax took much longer than I expected, the price and experience were definitely worth it. I would return!

Lucy is fantastic! I have been going to Lucy for facials and waxes for a little over 2 years now and I love it every time! She makes you feel comfortable, is very detailed, her wax technique is quick and painless and her prices are very fair. Have not had this good of an experience anywhere else.

I had a facial here a week ago and it was so incredibly relaxing! Just what I needed after a long week at work. I had actually never heard of this place, but my boyfriend found it online and booked a «relaxing facial» for me since I’ve been under so much stress.
It might be a little hard to find, but there’s a sign at the front so you can’t miss it. I was shocked when I walked inside, because it was so much bigger than it seemed from the outside! They have a makeup station, a room for hair services, another for nail services, and then private rooms for the facial/​body services. There were also people coming and going so they’re busier than I could have imagined. The staff was exceptionally friendly and Lucyna herself is so sweet and amazing!
As she was performing my facial, she explained that she used organic and natural products… and they all smelled wonderful. I really got the sense that the entire experience was customized for me and my skin… not just another «typical» facial you might get at a big spa chain. The nice shoulder and neck massage calmed my nerves so much that I may have actually fallen asleep!
I left feeling fresh and renewed, and had such a great personal connection with Lucyna (she even recommended some of her favorite restaurants in the area). Now I know why this place is so busy. Great staff, quality services, and that personal touch (which I find missing in the spa chains). I’ll definitely be going back!

I tried Lucyna’s student services for the fist time on August 27^th. My mom and I scheduled mani/​pedi (no chip + regular pedi for me and regular mani/​pedi for mom) appointments for 7 PM with a girl named Kate. (Keep in mind they close at 9 PM)
When we arrived, we received pedicures first. The instructor warned me right away that the students work slowly and so she will see how things will go for the no chip. (I was thinking that meant she or someone faster would take over in case they were out of time) Our pedicures finished at 8:30ish PM.
Both my mom and I were very pleased with them. It was very relaxing and thorough and our toes look great!
While we were receiving our pedis the male receptionist came by to ask me if i had informed the receptionist that I wanted a no chip and if she had asked me if I was available at an earlier time. I had made an appointment for that, and I would have been able to come in earlier had she made me aware. Apparently she should have scheduled me for 6 PM since a no chip takes longer. Long story short, I ended up having to suffice with a regular mani which my mom and I were a bit disappointed with. Our manicures started at 8:40 PM and because they were short on time, my nails were never soaked or moisturized — I was not told they would cut me short of the services. I was filed, fixed cuticles and polished. I wasn’t not entirely unhappy with the mani but there were definitely air bubbles and gaps and my mom noticed the same on her nails. Both of our manis were chipping by the 31^st which was disappointing.
Ultimately they blamed the girl who had scheduled me (Kate?) but it didn’t help my case since I came in seeking a no chip and then received a half ass manicure. I thought the students were very professional being only students. I felt I should have received my manicure at no or half the cost since it wasn’t even what I wanted in the first place and was jipped due to time; or received some sort of credit for my next mani. So definitely dissatisfied with their customer service. =(
As for the rest, they have a good collection of colors, professional students and very affordable prices. I wouldn’t schedule an appointment after 6 PM as my experience speaks for the amount of time it takes for them to work and if you want everything you would expect from a mani/​pedi service.

This review is regarding the cosmetology school.
I am currently a student here and absolutely love it. All of the teachers, staff, and students welcome you with warm smiles and treat you like family from day one. The teachers and Lucy (owner) are extremely accommodating with your schedule. They understand you have priorities outside of school and are very helpful about that.
Another reason I was drawn to this school after doing a lot of research, speaking with many cosmetologists, visiting Pivot Point, Paul Mitchell, and Empire was the price. It is EXTREMELY affordable and fit perfectly within my price range. They allow you to set up a customized payment plan so you’re not worried about money all the time.
I can’t say enough good things about this school. I’m very glad I picked it, and i actually look forward to going to school!
If you’re interested in becoming a cosmetologist, I would definitely recommend stopping by and checking it out.

I recently came here for my first hair coloring experience! I made an appointment with Jeanette, a Redken Certified Hair Colorist, and was over the moon with my results! She talked me though the process and told me about after care for my coloring and recommended a shampoo and conditioner that would protect my new Ombré and keep my hair looking great.
The salon is very clean and the staff was incredibly friendly from the minute I got there. I can’t wait to go back and will recommend Lucyna’s to anyone I know who is looking to have their hair done or to get a spa treatment. Thank you!

I only have used this for waxes. It is a bit pricey but that facility is very very clean. I got my first wax here, and they were so friendly about it. If you needed a break they will give you one. The technician makes you feel comfortable and will chat with you. Helps with the pain!
I really enjoyed my experience there, and have come back multiple times since.
FYI! You can’t tip on your credit card. I learned that the hard way. DOH! And also do make an appointment, saves you time.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF THINKING ABOUT USING THEM FOR YOUR WEDDING!!!
I am not kidding. We drove all the way out to Mount Prospect on a Saturday afternoon. We were quoted that the hair and makeup trial would cost less than $ 100, which it did not. I have to say that we really liked the hair that was done. The makeup was an absolute joke! She charged $ 45 for five minutes of work and didn’t put on any foundation or lipstick. All she did was my fiances eyes. After walking away from the trial we were upset that their actual trial price was way more than the quote, but we still paid and tipped generously (even though the makeup was a sham).
We were told that we would get pricing for the wedding party a few days later. A message was left on our answering machine with the price and that the hair stylist would be charging an additional $ 20 PER PERSON for her commute. We called her back saying that we would like to go with her, because we really did like the hair that she did. This was a month ago and we have not heard back. We have since found someone else, but it is unbelievable that a place would take $ 150+ for a trial then totally go silent. Like I said before AVOID AVOID AVOID!
