I had a massage with Madeline recently. They are currently undergoing renovations, so at the beginning I wondered if listening to the drilling and construction conversation would be a distraction. It wasn’t once the massage itself commenced, but it should have been mentioned over the phone when scheduling the appointment. The massage itself was lovely and Madeline helped me work out my kinks. At the end of the massage I was given a towel. I would recommend paying attention to removing excess oil from your feet. I wore sandals. The staircase is stone, and traction could be tricky. The staff was friendly the whole time. I would have another massage there.

Took my wonderful friend Marla here for a haircut and she saw Nicole whom I’ve seen in the past and she absolutely loved it! Nicole is such a sweetheart with the kindest demeanor and she’s really good at listening, I saw my girl Amy Jo Who always treats me right and gives me the best cut and the prettiest blonde hi lites ever! Pam gave me an awesome gel shellac manicure and then I went over to the spa and had the absolute best Brazilian bikini wax and eyebrow wax and shaping in my entire life Melinda you are awesome! This is such a professional well run salon and I have been in salons all over the country and all over the world and these people are truly masters at what they do. I have been coming to Stella nova for so long I don’t know what I would do without them but I’m so happy they’re here and I can totally vouch for them.

Melinda Sowell is the esthetician I always see here, and she is fabulous! Her knowledge of the Natura Bisse products and skin care in general is a major reason for you to ask for her when you book an appointment!
When I turned 40, I began to invest in my skin care-​better late than never, and decided to start splurging on monthly facials. I figured my skin was worth it and it would be cheaper than a face lift! I had no previous knowledge of Natura Bisse, and despite the fact it is pricey, I can definitely tell a difference in my skin. The products beat out any other line, including La Prairie. And they work!
Melinda is incredible. My skin started getting irritated in spots and inflamed, seemingly out of the blue. I thought it was hormones, but blood work disproved that theory. Melinda S. was able to prescribe a regimen that cleared it in no time. She is also a whiz at waxing! I will never understand why women insist on scrimping in this area and allow just anyone with a beauty license, and sometimes people want no license to take hair from «tender places». And i especially cringe when I see a woman getting her eyebrows waxed at a nail salon! A NAIL SALON!
Anyways, you will love your relaxing facial with Melinda Sowell here, and you will not experience any high pressure push to buy products. She just tells you what she would use, simply recommends. I have been to some spas where you feel like the only way you can leave is to buy product. Very relaxing experience with Melinda! There are two Melinda’s at this location, I have only ever seen Melinda S.

I’ve been going to Stella Nova for about 6 months after trying some less impressive stylists (when you are a dude, what do you call the lady who cuts your hair?). The business is hip and stylish in itself. I also like the high-​tech reminder text service they use.
Johnna is incredible! She talked me into a more modern look without being pushy and all is happy in my world. Ask for Johnna. She has always been either early or on-​time, is a great conversationalist and is NOT booked out so far that it is annoying. I guess she is a secret that I’m willing to share.

My old hair stylist at Stella Nova has moved away and is not anywhere to be found, thus I made an appoitment with a different stylist this past time I was in.
Kelly is a genius with hair! Is Stella Nova expensive? Why yes, yes it is, but it’s YOUR HAIR ladies. I, for one, think shelling out a little extra coin twice a year to have perfectly coifed locks is well worth the expense.
I have had my finger and toe nails done at Stella Nova a few times as well, and have always been super-​pleased with the service, and the results.
From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the very friendly desk staff, to the moment you walk out; you feel like you are the only and most important person in the shop. I love this place!!!

So, I’m not a bobble head or anything, but I’ve always been a little self conscious about my large cranium. For this reason, I’ve always followed Fran Drescher’s lead & assumed the bigger the hair, the better, & finding a stylist has always been a little tough. (Blowouts are amazing on others, but I feel like my head looks huge when my fine hair is straight & sleek.). But then, I found Casey at Stella Nova…
Seriously, she is the best stylist I’ve ever had, & I can’t go to anyone else now. She took the time to figure out what I liked & didn’t like, & she understands my big head conundrum. I’ve never had a bad haircut from her, & I completely trust her advice. Plus, they’re always willing to squeeze me in when I need a last-​minute touch up. Casey gets 5 stars, for sure!
I’ve also had my eyebrows waxed, & for $ 15, it’s painless on both my brows & my wallet. However, my little sister got her brows done here & they accidentally nicked the skin under her arch with shaping scissors. (It wasn’t painful, but it left a red mark for about a week or so.) I definitely think this was an unlucky fluke for her, but sisterly love demands that I at least mention it here. :)
If you’re looking for a new stylist (or just becoming a grown up & trying to settle on one stylist), I definitely recommend Stella Nova!

Had a great experience on Friday. Went in for a bikini wax with Melinda, she made me comfortable and put me at ease. $ 30 and I was in and out in half an hour. Will definitely return. Beautiful salon with lots of high end products, pleasant front desk attendants and easy to change my appointment last minute.

I went to Stella Nova for a massage at the end of August. They’ve done a complete renovation and it is beautiful!
The upstairs looks and feels like a trendy upscale spa. The massage therapist, Abigail, was amazing. I definitely reccommend scheduling an appointment with her, I know I’m making another one soon.

Modern satellite (original’s in Charleston) salon boutique in the heart of Mount Pleasant. Great atmosphere, varied selection of products with friendly and accommodating staff.
Stylists are versatile, know their stuff — especially when it comes to curly hair. Thankfully, I was able to get my challenging, temperamental curly hair styled beautifully for a wedding. A couple let downs though: lots of scheduling snafus — over 10 of us patronized this salon for wedding weekend styling, and there were a lot of mix-​ups (i.e. a mani/​pedi scheduled for eight, yet only two techs showed), and too few staff to accommodate our needs after they had assured us they would.
Their prized makeup artist was really not up to snuff. A makeup application felt rushed, unprofessional. I did not receive enough coverage (loose dusting of powder does not a foundation make) and the end job was largely something I could have accomplished on my own, including the lash application (Paying extra for a lash application that wound up being a generic cheap strip, and taking all of 1 minute is not what I was expecting — what happened to individual lash application?) that quickly came undone (humid southern weather) before the day was even through. Expensive Fail. (Note: many other wedding attendees used her services that day and a similar sentiment was shared by all, as most of our makeup was barely intact into the wedding evening)
Bottom line: not too shabby of a place for hair, pass on makeup and other services, peruse their beauty goods and comparison shop prior to making a purchase.
