Arrived at 6:15 pm on a Friday night. Waited for 30 minutes before being called. As the hostess went to seat us, she took us to a table that was fully occupied! She apologized and took us back to the waiting area. After another 20 minutes the hostess told us to go upstairs(bar area) and find the waitress there to seat us. We did so, and then waited 10 minutes for our waitress to take our orders. She was working hard, but was only waitress for that area. Unfortunately, when the food did arrive, it was less than expected. The oyster’s Rockefeller were cold and the crab legs were … Rubbery, and empty of crab meat! Never seen anything like it. Sent them back! Also, the clam chowder not to our liking, as it contains bell peppers. Overall, nothing worth going out of the way to try. Lots of better choices in the area. MJ

Great seafood restaurant in Shem Creek right on the water. We had lunch and arrived as they were opening so we were seated immediately. It does get to be a very busy area so not sure if you can call ahead? We had steamed oysters and they were so yummy! Oysters here are much better priced than some of the downtown oyster prices. Service is quick and the food is tasty. Hush puppies were kinda sweet tasting and some of the best I’ve had. If you sit on the back porch area, you have a view of water. On a warm day, they can roll the window/doors up.

Arrived Friday night around 7:30 in February. No wait and our waiter William greeted us promptly once we were seated. We had lots of questions about ingredients because my wife has food allergies. Every single question was answered courteously and accurately. Started with Onion Rings and they were quite good. Coconut shrimp were very coco-nutty, but good. The market salad was delicious. We also had some she-crab soup, which was done very well. Kids ate the normal kids menu fare and it was more than enough food. They loved the individual bags of Famous Amos cookies! Gave it 4 stars because food was good, service was exceptional, but I felt is was a little pricey. It is a more touristy location, so I guess the price should be expected.

Slow service. Food is average. Steam Pot over cooked. Was told they were busy with a party of 50 and that was why they were short handed, slow, and out of menus.

Crab dip appetizer was excellent… served cold with crackers. We had the fried seafood combo with flounder, shrimp and scallops. Breading was light enough to allow the taste of the seafood to shine thru! Only disappointment was that we were too full for dessert! We would definitely eat here again.

Traveled to Charleston for a quick day trip from Columbia. We have eaten here before and enjoyed it last time. Today, on the other hand, was a let down. We sat downstairs on the patio. The weather was perfect for the windows to be open. Unfortunately, the food was not very appetizing. We ordered fried oysters and hush puppies for appetizer. They were fine. For entrées, we ordered the seafood platter combo with flounder and shrimp served with fries. The flounder had a funny taste, and we dont think it was cooked all the way. We also ordered the shishimi tuna. The tuna was overcooked and mostly white in color. It was also very fatty. We will opt for a different restaurant time we are in Charleston.

We saw the low ratings and wondered why they’ve dropped over the years. So, we went here for Sunday lunch. The food wasn’t bad. But, it wasn’t good either. I just don’t think a restaurant can excel in Mt P without being awesome. My salad had canned fruit on it. That’s a no-no. The service was good and view is incredible. I also thought it was pricey for the quality. $ 55 which did include 2 mimosas. But, I can go to my favorite upscale place with all fresh ingredients for les $$$

Good. Nice view. Good seafood. Good shrimp. Good service. Smell of boat motor 2 cycle oil. But a nice casual setting to enjoy the south.

Only came for the happy hour. Can’t beat $ 2 draft ipas! Def a place that older generation seem to flock to but I didn’t mind. The bartender even let us put an extra round on happy hour prices for use after happy hour

View was good. Food not so much. The fish tasted like it was fresh out of the freezer.

The blue crab cocktail was good, but didn’t come with melted butter. Would have asked for it, but our servers weren’t around.(Yes, we had 2. It was hard to tell who was training who.) Our meals took a very long time, apparently we got behind a party of 30. The sashimi tuna was good, the asparagus blah, and the rice pilaf was chewy. The blackened mahi had the right amount of spice, the mango chutney added a nice level of sweetness. The collards were a bit bland, and the loaded potato was good. Of course, the view is nice. We might go back, but not on our list of favorites.

Ended up here on Family Dinner night because I wanted seafood and the husband wanted to go to Shem Creek. Add a three year old into the mix and here we are. We arrived early enough that we didn’t have to wait and we were seating outside along the pier– double score! Looking at the menu, I don’t quite know what I was expecting, but it just had a «hotel restaurant» vibe to it. Maybe I was just ill-prepared, but I was a little underwhelmed. I ordered a combo plate with oysters and shrimp with steamed asparagus. Husband ordered shrimp and grits. I will say, my oysters seemed a bit. wilted. Husband was less than thrilled with his meal as well. The view was nice, but at the end of the day, there are better places that offer up better tasting seafood.

Service was great, though we were there at opening on a weekday. The shrimp as an appetizer was the right choice and the crab cake sandwich was perfectly cook. We sat on the 2nd floor on a rocking 4 person table overlooking the Creek… highly recommended to sit upstairs. Of course, September in Charleston is the best time for anything outside. I wish I would have gotten the shrimp and grits with brown gravy… next time.

Great location… we sat on the screened outdoor patio and enjoyed watching paddle boarders and dolphins. Service was good, too. The mussels in a cream tomato sauce were very good and accompanied by a nice buttery toasted piece of bread to sop up the sauce. The lump blue crab was simple but excellent! The Mahi Mahi was way overcooked and dry. Sad! The greens were pretty good. I would return for the mussels, lump blue crab, and the view!

Had a great meal here last night? Walked in not knowing what to expect. We walked up to the maître’d and asked for a table. She was very nice, told us there was a 35 min wait. We accepted, walked to the bar and ordered drinks. Barmaid was very friendly. Took our drinks out back on the docks. Sat watching Porpoise breaching and watched the sun set. Called for dinner. Had a great waitress!(Sara) and ordered their Fried Shrimp dinner and shrimp cocktail. The meal was very, very good. The night was perfect! More shrimp in that dinner than I could eat. Every bite perfect! Shrimp is local and not frozen. Friends of ours told us of RBs and we’re glad they did! We can easily be regulars here.

We were overall disappointed with our meal. This is a seafood restaurant and the worst part of the meal was the seafood. We had the combo platter(shrimp, flounder, oysters, & scallops). The taste was bland and it came out cold. In addition, we were charged $ 2 extra for 3 pieces of asparagus. We felt like we should have gotten more asparagus for the extra charge. We did like the calamari and salad. Also the kids meals were decent. We enjoyed our waitress and she did a good job. We told her at the end of the meal that the food had been cold. She said she wished we had told her earlier. However, we had 4 tired kids and didn’t have time for them to cook again. Food should come out warm the first time. Update: I appreciate the manager posting a comment. However, she asked me to email her. Typically, most restaurants offer a refund or to come back and try again. She never did either.

I guess I’m just a gluten for punishment because I keep coming back to this slop hole. Mostly for the happy hour menu, but still. I consciously chose to park, open the front door, and walk in. The service at the bar just plain sucks. Don’t know why they serve a happy hour, and then only staff the bar with one person. You KNOW you’re going to get busy. Yeah, sure, I’ve eaten in the dining room. The food is just ok. Overpriced if you ask me. Probably because they need to make that river front mortgage payment. Go to Red’s. At least you know what you’re getting with that place.

For the price, I was expecting a lot better. My party went to RB’s last week during a family reunion. It was our one big meal out and we were looking forward to some really great seafood. The staff was great and accommodating as much as possible of a large group, but we were incredibly disappointed in the food. I realize it’s a little difficult to get all the food for a large party out hot at the same time, but several people at the table had cold grits, cold veggies, and cold fish. We were told the vegetable side of that day was squash, zucchini, and broccoli, but we were all given green beans(that weren’t hot), which I think most would not have gotten if we had know. If I had known this, I definitely would have encouraged my family to pick somewhere a little less pricey. I wouldn’t return on another trip to Charleston.
