Pick N Save

Pick N Save called today. We were given wrong information. They take Illinois checks. It was declined for security purposes because we seldom write checks there. Our account has been flagged so we should be able to write checks without a problem. They are also giving us a $ 25 gift card. I will update again the next time we write a check there. Hopefully they will accept it, or we may have to leave the store and leave the groceries behind. I’m giving a 2 star rating for now. I still don’t understand why they didn’t ask me for a photo ID, instead of declining the check outright which was so embarrassing.

Initially, this Pick N Save had everything going for it when the grand opening was held. A great location, fresh produce, meat market, deli, bakery, salad and soup bar, and pharmacy.
However, within the past year, this particular location has fallen under poor management. The stock within the store is not rotating out of the store and the dairy products are spoiling due to improper refrigeration. Homeless vagrants have been allowed to take up residence outside the store. On several occasions I witnessed vagrants smoking what appeared to be «pot» at various locations within the building and outside of it. The management has become apathetic towards the vagrants, and refuses to remove them from the premises or telephone the local police to report their activity. I did contact Roundys corporate headquarters in Milwaukee to report the loitering and activity of the homeless vagrants on the property. The corporate management of Roundys and the store manager responded to me in regard to the concerns I listed in my review. My experience with both the corporate and local management was a positive one.
It is now fourteen months since I posted my original review.
I am happy to report this store location has undergone a complete 180 degree turnaround. Merchandise appears to be rotating out of the store. The dairy products are fresh, and the homeless vagrants are no longer found loitering around the property. I will definitely resume shopping at this location.

I do not care for this store since their move (to 31 and Hwy 11) and re-​design. It’s dark with an austere concrete floor and feels very much like a dungeon in here — and not in a good way! (wink) Anyway, I much preferred their previous location which was better laid out, brighter and had (normal) white (tile?) floors. I fear they will be re-​doing all their SE Wisconsin stores in this new dungeon scheme, which is a shame. So far the Kenosha store still offers a pleasant environment for shopping. I suppose it’s only a matter of time, folks.
