This place had the best burgers and fries around, beating out any chain(including Five Guys!). You can customize your burger and they make their fries fresh out of a potato right there on the spot, and a single order feeds my whole crew! Plus, they got some of the best beans available in a crock pot up front. This little gem is the hidden highlight of East Texas!

Stopped in as we passed through Texas on our way to Arizona from Alabama. Read the previous reviews, and they were all accurate. Friendly staff, delicious food, huge basket of fries(one basket can definitely feed multiple people). Burgers are large, and cooked fresh when you order. This place is an old Shell gas station converted to a restaurant, and has a very welcoming feel. We will probably make this a regular stop when passing through.

Wonderful burgers.(I admire a burger that is big but not too thick.) Loved the complimentary beans(best I’ve ever tasted). HUGE orders of fresh cut fries. Most of all, we enjoyed the ambience: friendly customers, helpful employees, local color. People of all ages and walks of life gather here to munch burgers. Clean, pretty room(former gas station). Staff hustles, so don’t let the crowded parking lot deter you. This is one of the best things I’ve found in Texas.(I wonder whether there’s a McDonald’s in this town. Would it do any business at all?)

Simple burgers. That’s it! Amazing fries and friendly people who are attentive and wonderful! Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. I had the grilled onions on a cheeseburger. The parties are good quality and they are good size too! And the fries??? Cut fresh and fries right there. Really the best!!!

Has to be a stop for us on our trips to and from Tulsa. A lean tasty Burger that actually covers the bun with a mile high pile of fries — fresh cut — Skins on and pinto Beans like Granny made! These Texans took an Okie back to fond memories of the great American Burger. A big thanks!

Stopped in while traveling cross country. No frills burger and fry joint. Here are the key points: 1.) The burgers are big. If you’re feeding kids one will do for two kids(mine are 2&7) 2.) One fry order will feed 4(trust me!) we couldn’t finish them all. 3.) The fries are fresh and cut to order. 4.) The spot looks shady but don’t be fooled by appearances. Staff is very friendly. 5.) They also had free baked beans on a crockpot for you to have while waiting.

I have eaten at many a good burger joint, but this place is about 10 different shades of awesome! I am new to Mt Pleasant and had the opportunity of visiting this place back in the winter. I do not think I have had fries that good since I was like 10 back home. Burgers were giagantic and very juicy. My recommendation is, if you are going with someone else, One order of fries could easily feed 3 people or more. They are not skimpy on portions. Definitely a good staple restaurant in Mt. Pleasant.

Stopped in on a drive through town on a recommendation of a friend. Was not disappointed. Food was very good and cooked to order in a timely fashion. Staff were very helpful and always stopping by to provide refills even though the drinks were self service. I felt the prices were a little high, but it wouldn’t stop me from returning!

I love this place! I wish they had one in Texarkana too! The burgers are delicious! Old fashioned burgers from the 1950’s the way burgers are supposed to taste! The french fries are hand– cut and VERY generous(one order = 2 people) Clean-clean-clean! I like that you can see into the open kitchen and see them preparing your food, the are quick and efficient! GREATSERVICE!

Fantastic home cooked burgers! This place is a little gem. Divey atmosphere, nice staff and delicious food. The burgers are big and juicy and the fries are piled high — cooked with the potato skin– and not greasy. Great lunch spot!

We went to Mt Pleasant Burgers and Fries based on reviews. We weren’t disappointed. My husband and I split the bacon cheese burger and fries. It was plenty of food and by far the best burger and fries we’ve had in a long time. We couldn’t even eat all the fries. The staff is very friendly. Next time we are in town we will definitely stop.

Totally local real Texas experience — full of Texas ranchers. Great homemade French fries, cheese fries option available! Such a great break from the mega chains.

Good, down home burger and fries. Nothing fancy. Located in an old gas station. Good choice in a town with mostly franchise fast food.

«This is what a burger is supposed to be… all-American, Texas beef, flashback to childhood, perfect blend of flavors with juice running down arm, and small town friendly hospitality as big as TEXAS… world’s best burger EXPERIENCE!»

Stopped here during my drive back to Dallas from Philly. I was exhausted and driving the final two hours of a 24 hour roadtrip. This place is a converted gas station. Ordered a double burger and fries. All for about $ 10 and a TON of food. I didn’t make it through half! Start with the burger. Big, thin patties and cooked well done. Should have went for the single. With the grilled onions, lettuce and tomatoes this thing was tough to handle. Too big. Meat quality was very questionable but nice flavor. The fries gave this place an extra star, plus the place has a good feel to it. The fries are hand cut and the portion size could feed a family of four. Perfectly crispy and delicious, with some type of seasoned salt that added to the experience. Gave me the fuel to make it home safely!
