Marriott Residence Inn

This place completely surpassed our expectations. Yes, it is a «corporate big box chain «hotel, but it had touches of being an independent local hotel with some local Southern charm
The lobby was really really nice, and made you feel like you were in a plantation in the deep South, and fit the location well
The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve ever seen, and was not done and I perfunctory matter. The employees were super friendly, even at 7 o’clock in the morning, and it was apparent that this was not a forced hospitality
The location cannot be beat. Comparing this hotel rates with some of the resort rates right on the beach, you will save a lot of dough by staying here
You are only a stones throw (five minutes) from the beach, and it is a beautiful drive over the marsh into isle Palms. You’re also walking distance to a number of very family friendly restaurants and shops. Both importantly, with no traffic, you’re about 20 minutes from downtown Charleston.
This is a no-​brainer if you’re traveling with small children, or if you just need more space then went downtown Charleston or Beatrice orts offer. Only if you desire waking up to the sounds of the ocean should you stay somewhere else.
