Jean’s of Mt Pleasant

Went to Jean’s after several disappointing attempts to find a mother of the bride dress. Told the sales person what I wanted, and she was very helpful guiding me for what would work for my body type. Ordered a dress and since it was made to my measurements it was perfect! But you have to go with enough time in advance of the wedding ! I couldn’t get my mother (grandmother of the bride) to go until about 2 ½ months before the wedding, and the selection was much more limited. But the staff got on the phone and found a dress that would work for my mother! Talk about helping reduce the stress load! Thanks Jeans!

Just had the most amazing MOB dress shopping experience at Jean’s! My mom came in from Palm Beach and we decided to stop by and see what the selection was… And we were blown away with the amazing selection of dresses Jean’s carried! The only thing better than finding the perfect dress was Stephanie’s amazing customer service! We didn’t make an appointment, but that didn’t matter to her. She gave us her expert opinion and offered suggestions throughout the process! We’re so thankful for Jeans and Stephanie! Highly recommended!

I bought my mother-of-the-groom’s dress at Jean’s, along with shoes and purse/​clutch. Quite frankly, I probably wouldn’t have spent as much on my full ensemble, but the wonderful and helpful staff made this experience so easy that I didn’t care about shopping elsewhere. They had a fantastic selection of dresses, shoes, purses, jewelry and anything else you could possibly need for such an occasion. When I came in to look for a dress in September, I told them the kind dress I was looking for, and they nailed it!!! I only had to try on 3 or 4 dresses and this dress was even better than I had hoped for! We did need to take my measurements and order my size (and another color — it was black) and I was told that it would take 12 to 16 weeks to arrive. Thankfully, my son’s wedding was in March!!! The dress arrived at the end of December and they called me immediately. I went over and tried the dress on and they suggested a few minor alterations that would take a week or two. The dress is perfect and entire outfit is fantastic and I am so glad I went to Jean’s for such an important event. Overall experience: OUTSTANDING!!!

Jean was such a sweetheart when I came in to get my wedding dress fitted and it didn’t fit. I finally got it figured out but they took great care of my mother with her dress and her fitting! Thank you all so much for a positive experience for my mother! She said you guys or «ya’ll» made her feel beautiful.

My daughter wanted a particular dress by Mori Lee! It listed that Jeans had the dress!
We entered the first floor and was not greeted at all! Then the large mirror and pedestal was already being used! We had scheduled an appointment! My daughter advised her budget and was forced to try on gowns that were missing buttons or had a broken zipper! I showed the associate the gown she wanted and was told rudely that they do not say on line the styles they carry! She also advised me that the dress my daughter wanted would not work because she was too small ! Really!!! After we left my daughter said it was the worst experience of her life! Even if you didn’t think the dress would work what right do you have to take away trying on her dream gown! The best part is she told my daughter they could order the dress with a 50% deposit ! Why would we pay for a dress that you said would not work!!’ ??? Or why would you pay for s dress you never tried on! I have worked in Mt. Pleasant for 20 yrs and never felt so un welcomed in a store! A truly disappointed mother of a heartbroken bride!!!

I’m not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. Jean’s is not a super fancy store and does not offer champagne but it does offer awesome customer service. I went to those stores that offered those extras and was treated like garbage. While I didn’t purchase my dress from Jean’s, I did buy my jewelry and had alterations done by Jean’s. The alterations were perfect, they always worked with my schedule, and were by far the most pleasant people I have encountered in the Charleston bridal experience. I work in customer service and if you are rude to people, you should expect the same in return.

After one not-​so-​great experience with a bridal shop, I thought that I would wait for another month before I started shopping again. BUT — a chance walk through at Jean’s and her excellent customer service helped me find a gown and feel completely confident in the purchase. I can’t wait for my dress to come in and bring the rest of my wedding party back in.

Looking for a wedding dress in Charleston, SC?
You only have to look at one location, Jean’s Bridal in Mount Pleasant. As an out-​of-​town bride from Washington State, I looked at one or two locations at home, however, I really did not want to ship the dress across country, then try to find someone to prepare it for the wedding day.
After having a quick look at home in Washington State, I actually found the designer I liked and looked them up online. There was one store that carried that line in the Charleston area. But to do due diligence, I made appointments with a total of 5 wedding dress venues in town. The 3^rd location was actually Jean’s Bridal, which was the exclusive line for the dresses I had seen before. Working with Michelle Wellmon Coste, she pulled all the like dresses in the style I was searching, and while they did not have the one I had seen before, they had one I liked even better. Done deal! I had found my beautiful dress, and the pricing for the dresses carried in Jean’s Bridal were much more in line with my budget versus others in the area. And with Michelle’s help, they provided me the necessary assistance in what undergarments might be needed.
Absolutely wonderful service! From searching for the dress, through the dress fittings, it was a delight to go into their shop. Since I was from out of town, they made sure to provide me the days and times I needed due to my schedule, plus my dress was rushed so that when I did come back into town it would be waiting for me. I ordered the dress in January, and it came in within weeks, though my wedding was not until October.
Jean’s Bridal is fantastic, and I cannot say enough about their professionalism, courtesy, support, great alterations, and most of all, their friendship.

I had alterations done here to a J Crew bridesmaid dress. The work was done beautifully and on time. Miss Jean and her team were extremely polite and fun to work with. I’ll be back the next time I need alterations, not to mention the next time I need a bridesmaid dress! Thanks!

I purchased my prom dress from Jean’s a few years ago. The service was okay, but the hem of my dress came unraveled before prom and before I even had the chance to wear it (there had been no alterations) and they refused to fix it. Basically, it was my problem to deal with.
I went back to try on wedding dresses, with an appointment. The service was awful and no one was around to maintain a flow between brides and the one mirror — you kind of had to wait in line and figure things out for yourself.
The shop isn’t nice enough to warrant the staff’s snooty attitudes. It was like they didn’t even want to sell me a dress.

Really bad. We went A LOT of places and this place was UNACCEPTABLE. When we walked through the door we got a horrible vibe. I am guessing it was the owner at the front desk, an older lady that was very short with us and rude. We said we came to browse the shop and she seemed annoyed we were there. When we asked if they had a water by chance, one of the people that worked there looked puzzled and confused. We had just left a shop that offered us champagne or water right when we walked in the door. Everything in the store seemed very dated. The wedding dresses seemed dirty and some of them were just thrown all over the place. We had no help in the dressing room getting in and out of the dresses (even at David’s Bridal they help you do this which is not a boutique and the prices are MUCH less) The whole process was really uninviting and honestly I was ready to leave immediately. Being from out of town, traveling in to shop for dresses in Charleston, we hoped for the best and decided to look. AWFUL. DO NOT waste your time!

They were so helpful and knew what I wanted better than I did!!! The dress I got was amazing at an even more amazing price.

My first visit, the customer service was outstanding. I picked out the suit for my husband and groomsmen. I returned with my husband for his final fitting and it didn’t fit properly. The woman helping insisted this is how it should fit. After a little back and forth disagreement. Her supervisor finally jumped in and fixed the problem and ordered the right size. In the end it’s was A-​OK.

Jeans will do whatever it takes to make your wedding or special event a success. Highly recommend

If you have a wedding coming up, you must visit Jean’s — it is a wonderful complete bridal shop — the clothes are awesome and the staff is extremely friendly.
