We love the Evergreen Drive-In! We feel so lucky to have the pleasure of having a drive-in theatre so close to where we live. It’s not Summer unless we are at the drive-in, watching a movie, hanging out with family, and eating lots of snacks from the snack bar. The drive-in is well kept, very clean and neat. The owners really show a lot of pride in their business. The prices at the snack bar aren’t too bad, and you can’t beat the price of the movie(basically a 2 for 1). I can’t wait till Summer comes again, on those hazy nights, sitting out watching movies in the dusk, getting eaten alive by mosquitoes!

I wish I had a place like this near home. Took my kids along with my sister and niece for a trip to the past that they might never get to have. How blessed that there are drive ins still open and in such a nice area. My sister requested that we go to experience it together and we are all so glad we did. Two 2 movies for $ 8.00.you can pick from three screens and the actual drive in is small. Crowd was great and grounds were clean and nice. A great way to spend a summer evening… late as it was we enjoyed it. People were very polite and quiet but that’s what I expect from fellow Pittsburghers. Got popcorn which was really good and priced so inexpensive. Sound quality was great from car radio. Arrive early so you can hang out, eat or listen to the drive in radio station. I really loved the old fashioned commercials in between movies. We all loved it. We should have purchased mosquito coil as we were bitten. Love it that they sell that too. Go, buy from the concession stand and support movie history that we want for a long time to come.

Best place to spend a summer’s night. 3 screens, price of snacks isn’t terrible(isn’t great either). Employees are great. Can’t wait for this season.

The Evergreen is located in the middle of a residental area, but in the summer it is open 7 days a week. Going to this drive in expecting an old school feeling is silly, considering the modernization of the business; no longer does it have the traditional hanging speakers or individual spaces for cars marked clearly. Instead, the drive in relies on a radio system to deliver sound directly into the cars, and space is determined as first come first serve.(I recommend bringing a battery operated radio for this, unless you are watching the screen that they broadcast for over the concession stand speakers. Then you can sit and listen to the movie outside the stand.) One of the great things about this drive in is that they expect the patrons to respect one another and follow basic rules to keep their prices down. Flashing your lights too many times will get you expelled, since it ruins the movie experience — essentially, the drive in version of having your cell phone on in the theater. They allow pets as long as they behave, and are child friendly. Concessions are standard movie theater fare, really(overpriced, not very tasty and served slowly) but as is usual, the high prices help keep the drive in operating. And where else are you going to be able to watch TWO movies for the price of one(or even one-half, depending on where you go)?

I love drive-in theaters, but this one was really lacking in charm. Open since the 40s but nothing much seemed to remain from the good ‘olé days, except for maybe the popcorn. Seriously, we got there early and bought popcorn which was totally stale, or maybe even store-bought pre-popped stuff — yuck. No retro signage, no snack bar cartoons and all of the window speakers have been pulled out. Even $ 8 per person is not going to keep this place in business. I am saddened by that prediction.
