I really only stop on to pick up the pre-packaged frozen custard mixes. They’re better than Ben & Jerry’s and cheaper too when you get more than one.

This is a step above other fast-food chains. It’s not a huge step above, but high enough to make it worth a stop. Their menu is larger than a typical fast food place. I personally like the cod, though it might be a bit too greasy for some. The service at Culvers is stellar! Always a smiling face and cheerful demeanor. Sure I know that sometimes it’s forced, but that’s OK. I’ll take fake politeness over rudeness any day. Culvers makes their food«fresh to order». This means your order will likely not be waiting long under a heat lamp. Unfortunately this also means some of the longest wait times in the fast food industry. Every time you go to the drive-thru, you place your order then go and park, and wait for them to bring you your food. If you go inside, they give you a number, and bring your food to your table. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you. This is what stopped me from giving them a 4 stars instead of 3. CAUTION: Be sure to check the hours before you go. This place has a tendency to close earlier than most the other fast food places in town. There have been several instances when we would’ve liked to go there, but they were closed, so we went to a competitor. BOTTOMLINE: Large menu, friendly service, but the longest wait times in fast food.

The custard was pretty good. Had vanilla and chocolate. Didn’t care for the chocolate as much. The place wasn’t the cleanest. A lot of tables were sitting dirty and it really wasn’t that busy. Maybe 10 of us in the place. The staff was super friendly and kind. They seemed very conservative which is not matter to me. I saw one help an elderly woman to her seat with a cup of coffee and then later she started cleaning up the floor etc but she was the only one.
