Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center

For 34 yrs. the Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center (COTRAIC) has invited the Public and the Native American community to celebrate our cultural programs and events (during the last full-​weekend in September, every year). Just this last Pow Wow (September 29^th and 30^th) over 1000 people participated in this event alone… and we desire for our numbers to grow!
Which means year-​after-​year, we ALL have been excited to celebrate COTRAIC’s Cultural Annual Pow Wows… but to find our bodies would REALLY appreciate a softer surface!
Our efforts are to replace the asphalt dance arena for the COTRAIC’s next Annual Pow Wow with an Astro Turf underlying surface (Rubberized) with Dirt top layer — as it has become a must! The asphalt tarmac is a very, very hard surface (that takes a toll on our bodies lower extrimenties), and as our aging Elders continue to support this program, it becomes harder and harder to recover. So keep in mind, this would also provide a great environment for our youth and the participating public (during our community day events which will re-​engage in the spring) to learn Native American culture and dance on a kinder surface. And the mindset today is — together with your help — provide a comfortable experience for ALL! (Besides providing a environment where our Native American Dancers will deliver their un-​inhibited style and skill — for all to enjoy!)
