Moments Salon & Spa

I’ve been going to Moments Salon for a few years now & can’t imagine going anywhere else! Kyra really knows how to cut & style my hair perfectly & I often get compliments. The ladies at the front desk always welcome you with the offer of something to drink, which is a very nice touch. I’m one happy Moments client :-)

I went here because I was recommended by a friend for their eyebrow services. I went 2 weeks ago and the girl, Keira, was very good — she said she would clean them up and make them look more even. I was very pleased with her work. I went today for my follow-​up appointment with another girl, Bri. BIG MISTAKE. I told her «Don’t change the shape, please just clean them up.» What did this girl do? SHE CHANGED THE SHAPE. Now I have 2 tiny tadpoles on my face. I’m beyond angry. LISTENING IS A KEY COMPONENT IN SALON SERVICES. Furthermore, I speak with the manager and ask if this girl was a fully licensed professional (she looked very young so I wanted to confirm she wasn’t in the process of obtaining her license) who says «Yes. She has her license and we’ve never had complaints before and she does such good work so I’m shocked.» Here is a lesson — I work in customer service. It’s nice that other people like the services she has provided — that’s great. I don’t doubt that perhaps she DOES do good work HOWEVER my experience was horrible so DO NOT tell me that others like her. Do you not believe me? Are you trying to make me feel better? Are invalidating what I said? NEWSFLAH — I do not care what others think. I had a bad experience and that’s the only point of reference we should be discussing.

GO SEE KYRA. She’s friendly and does amazing work on brows. Clearly don’t trust anyone else. May the odds ever be in your favor.

I rarely give 5 out of 5 stars here on Unilocal but it’s a MUST for this salon. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. The receptionist offer excellent customer service. One of the receptionist spent 10 minutes on the phone with me asking about my hair so she could match me up with the perfect stylist and she did! She set me up with Nelda who does awesome cut/​color.
I have a lot of hair. It’s thick and wavy and I left with a beautiful cut and shiny and smooth blowout. Nelda is super polite and I’m super comfortable with her working on my hair. See her if you have difficult hair!!!
Also, I’ve used Liza (massage therapist) there on multiple occasions. Liza is outstanding. You must see her for a deep tissue if needed! There’s been times I could only go in for a 30 minute massage and left like I actually had a 60 minute.
Last but not lease I am a product junkie and have used a million products on my thick, curly hair. Moments has an excellent array of products including Bumble and Bumble.
I’m looking forward to getting a Brazilian Blowout here.

Highly recommend this place for all services. It is a great atmosphere and the staff are very well educated, I always leave very happy.

This salon is SO nice!
The decorations and the atmosphere is so welcoming. They ask you what you would like to drink as well, I was shocked and super happy at the same time.
I got my hair done by Shannon and she was amazing.
I have really long and thick hair and it’s hard to manage at times, I told her I wanted it to be trimmed, not cut too short and layered. She did an awesome job. After the layers it felt so light! When it’s long, it can get super heavy and annoying to deal with but now it’s so much easier! She did my bangs perfectly. I really like the side bangs and she cut them so if I didn’t feel like doing them, they would still fall within my hair and not be noticeable. A wonderful job and I will definitely be back soon.

I used to go here a long time ago since they had daily specials. But after living in Mount Laurel for the past 8 years, I have found other places to be better. Also, with groupon and living social, the daily deals just don’t seem as great. I wish it was better because it is in walking distance from my house!

Since moving back, huge deal is finding a new hair stylist. My sister-​in-​law recommended this place that she goes to. Although her stylist wasn’t working that day, I was paired up with Ester. I’m not a big talker, but we made some small conversation. The color came out exactly what I had wanted. This round was just for a color, next time a cut.
Glass of wine while getting pampered was a nice touch. And she added in a relaxing head massage while shampooing.

I have been going to Moments for many years now. I don’t know what the other reviewer was talking about, as the women at the front desk have always been extremely polite and friendly to me.
I have had hair coloring and cuts, waxing, pedicures, facials and a massage at Moments. All the services were expertly performed. My hair stylists, Kyra and Jessica, always do an excellent job even though I get an unusual color. My waxer, Colleen is just awesome, she is so nice and always is very thorough. Everyone I have dealt with there has been friendly.
Just one additional detail – I am plus size. Higher end salons don’t always treat plus size clients with the same respect they give to other clients – I have experienced this first hand. At Moments I have never been made to feel uncomfortable about being larger than average, or for wanting pink hair, or for any reason. They really are a wonderful place.

I went for a massage and was pleasantly surprised. There are many coupons, some that can be used more than once. The only downside is the pipes were very loud when the room next door used the sink. A little hard to relax with all that noise.

EXCELLENT massage every time. Adrienne is the best – I go to her every month. She really knows how to work out the knots in my back. If I have trouble spots, she will target them. I always leave feeling relaxed.
The front desk has always been friendly to me – they welcome me and offer me a drink when I come in.
Brow waxes there have been great too – I’ve had my brows done by Fey and Erica. Both were great!

Adrienne is no longer massaging here, but Angela is my girl now! Great massages from her.
The reason for my 1-​star downgrade is that the speakers in the massage rooms seem to have shorted out. The music is very static-​y, and it has been this way for a number of months. The music is also not ever new… and I only get a massage once a month (if even that often). It seems that Moments pays more attention to the salon section than the spa…

More accurate would be a 3.5 star rating.
My follow up visit to Moments was for a ‘Twist’ massage. Unless it leads to a rash or is painful every massage is a 5 star in my mind. All joking aside though, there was nothing above and beyond wonderful. I felt comfortable, the service was good, I left relaxed but still, I’ve had better massages. I’ve even left massages where they corrected back issues. Moments had a somewhat peaceful atmosphere, the room was small but I could hear people talking in the next room for most of the time. I also had a pretty good discount offer so I’ll be back if they keep up.

What I like the most about the salon is the friendliness of the entire staff. They’re considerate, professional, and of course, they really know what they’re doing. I’ve never had a bad experience there, and my first trip there was greeted with so much warmth and skill. I was very happy. They carry great product lines, and I think the standards of service are really top notch. I was super happy on my first visit!

I haven’t tried the hair services yet, but so far this spa is amazing! It’s so close to my house, and I love Lori! She’s so sweet, and does an amazing job with my waxing. I’m waiting to do my color here after the summer, so I’ll be back to update my reviews then!

This salon is close to where I work, and has proven to be my top choice in The Great Salon Search of ’08.
I was greeted with a smile and offered a drink.
The place is clean — there was someone dusting all the product shelves as I waited for my appointment.
The girl who shampooed my hair (Ashley) gave me an amazing head massage. I usually forget to tip the shampoo chick (I know, that’s shady-​ass of me), but I made it a point to give this girl a good tip!
My stylist (Jessica) is friendly and skilled. When I said I wanted «something more choppy and maybe a side bang» she told me that it would look rediculous when I wore my hair curly, and suggested an adaptation that would look good when I wear my hair stright or curly. I appreciated that — I hate when a stylist does excatly what I ask her to do and then it turns out that my idea sucked. She mixed several colors to make my shade perfect.

I never received any spa services, but I had my brows done here once and they did NOT look good! I’m particular about my brows, and I’d heard that they did a good job so I made an appointment to go. I had to wait like 20 minutes, and when I left my brows were uneven. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

Once you get past the attitude at the front desk, the stylists are nice, capable, and talkative.
Just remember, you’re in Mt. Laurel, NJ and all around you are open fields and a highway. I don’t enjoy being big-​timed by a sub-​suburban salon.
Yes, yes, I’m a dude and I go to this salon. Maybe they’re not used to many guys in there. They’ll tell you it’s not a big deal, but maybe it is.
They’re not flexible about scheduling, so you can’t get a cut on short notice. You’ll have to call way ahead.
Good prices for students.

I know I am going to cry when I move because this is the best salon/​spa I have ever been to. The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the services are cutting edge. The stylists continue their education so you can rest assure they are on top of the latest trends.
They carry Bumble and Bumble products which are hard to find but worth every penny. You can get on the mailing list and they send you daily specials. You can book your appointments online too!
