I’ve been to KJ countless times, both with playgroups and for birthday parties. It’s a children’s play place geared for the younger ones, I would say 6 and under. There’s a few games that require a token purchase(like skeeball, air hockey and some«rides” – the kind you see outside of a grocery store), but everything else is included in the admission price. What’s nice is that adults are free, as they should be(hear that Discovery Museum?) There’s an indoor playground, a dress-up stage, and some themed rooms: post office, gym, veterinarian, diner, grocery store and jail. Jail is actually the gated off crawler’s area which has it’s own mini-playground, which is great for the toddlers. You can’t bring your own lunch, but there’s a little peanut-free café selling reasonably priced snacks, drinks and kiddie lunch items(hot dogs, pizza). I’ve been to a Sunday morning party where it was pleasantly empty, and another, later party where it was very crowded. Parties always seem to be run pretty well, they take care of everything including the cake. Only downside is the pitchers of drinks are the most artifical things, like soda and Hawaiian punch. Not really what I want to pump into my kid(along with cake) during a party. There’s a little bit of security in place, they write a # on your hand and your child’s hand and verify at exit, so that is nice. Just make sure the kiddos have socks!(If not, they’ll sell you a pair)

Not bad for the money. Kid Junction is a mix between Chucky Cheese and a tiny version of the Please Touch Museum. The rides require you to purchase tokens, there is a nice-sized jungle gym, and miniature stores for the children to play. The jungle gym area is the best part with two large slides and numerous ways to climb up but the downs always lead to one central area. The stores are small and were also not bad for the money… food in the grocery store, sorting boxes in the post office, but not a great variety of things to do. My son was bored after about an hour and then only wanted to climb on the jungle gym. They also have a check-out that matches children with the adults they arrived with, which is always an appreciated touch. The place is clean and well-kept. There was a café with a nice assortment of food and snacks. We didn’t eat there, but the prices were reasonable. Overall it was a good experience and was nice to go somewhere new. It was not at all crowded on a Sunday afternoon and my son seemed to have fun. However while I’m sure we will be back, Kid Junction is most definately not in the same league as the Discovery or Please Touch Museums so keep that in mind. You get what you pay for.
