My mom and I went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel when I was home visiting her. We only had a little bit of time so we popped in for a very quick breakfast. We had the absolute best waitress ever, Genesis. She was so nice and helpful. She took the best care of us and she made sure we had EVERYTHING we needed throughout our entire visit. If you want good food and an exceptional service experience go see Genesis.

Going to Atlantic City with my family, we’re all fiending Cracker Barrel! This month they have a blackberry iced tea. How awesome does that sound? Mmmm… Everyone starts yelling out orders but I want my simple, go to breakfast: Over easy eggs, Grits, Sausage patties and biscuits.(With a side of their famous apple butter) Heaven! When you go to any Cracker Barrel, you also go to shop! –A pound of coffee is a must –They sell desserts that you can make, I bought a jar of blackberry compote that I’ll make a dessert for Memorial Day –Chocolate! –Pancake mix & Syrup –And I finally found a cast iron Dutch Oven that’s never in the CBs I normally frequent If you want to try some down home cooking for anytime breakfast or lunch & dinner, you have to come to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

Ahhh, the joys of comfort food on the road are a welcoming sight especially when a.) your state doesn’t have/know what CB is and b.) Southern style comfort food. Honestly, it’s been a few years since I last was in one but nothing has really changed from place to place over the past few years in my opinion. While CB may be nothing to rave about, I still enjoy the old country charm it brings when you first walk in. The general store always has interesting junk to poke around before, during or after your meal. We were immediately seated upon arrival, might I add it was around 8pm when hubby and I stopped for dinner. Usually, as I have recalled, the place is normally packed on weekends during«brunch» or after church. Going at an off time is a huge bonus especially when you’re starving and cold. I ordered the chicken and dumplings with 2 vegetables(beans and mac n cheese) I love how they classifly«vegetables.» It totally worked for me! It was almost more than I should have chowed down on but the warmth and comfort of this meal hit the spot. Hubby ordered the blackened catfish along with three sides(the same two as myself) as well as the pinto beans. No complaints on the food. It was«good» but mama’s is still much better. Our server was a young guy who was very nice and attentive. I think he did his job very well attending our table as well as others. The ambiance provided an old country lodge feel with plenty of tables and great for large groups. I only wished that the fireplace they had was in use, we both thought it was a little chilly even while eating our comfort food! For the amount of food and the ample choices the menu provides, is definitely a plus for picky eaters. The price for two meals was just under $ 20! Can’t beat that.

I am not super-impressed with this Cracker Barrel. Usually a reliable go-to for road trips, I would skip the Mount Laurel location in the future. We walked in to the usual organized-hoarder mess of Cracker Barrel and made our way to the hostess desk to reserve a table. We were told the wait was 5 – 10 minutes(totally acceptable) and started perusing the knickknacks. I also stopped to use the restroom, which was disheveled and not the cleanest(although it was not flat-out dirty, thank goodness). When we were seated, we waited a good 5 minutes for our waitress. She finally rushed over, apologized for her tardiness, and told us she was having a bad day and thinks she broke her toe, although she wasn’t limping or anything. She took our order and asked if we wanted biscuits or cornbread before our meal, to which we answered yes, biscuits please. Another 10 or so minutes later, she asked us again if we wanted our bread ahead of the meal. 5 minutes later, she showed up with the biscuits… and no butter or anything. She went back to get us apple butter(we would have been happy with anything). As she returned, a server appeared with our food and another order of biscuits. Our waitress stopped by once while we were eating to make sure everything was ok, which it was. My green beans were a little overdone and my catfish was definitely on the dry side, but the corn and sweet potatoes were good. The unsweetened blackberry ice tea was a little too sweet, so I let the ice melt before I drank most of it. My brother seemed to enjoy his food(chicken tenders and fries — can’t really go wrong). Once we finished our meals, we waited a few minutes for the waitress to come back. Thinking maybe it wasn’t obvious that we were done, we stacked the plates and pushed them to the edge of the table. That still didn’t get anyone’s attention. Finally, after a good 10 more minutes of waiting, we asked a different waitress to find our waitress and get our check. I watched her go in and out of the kitchen several times and ask other staff where our waitress was. She then came over, told us our waitress had spilled something all over herself and was cleaning up, so she would be a little while. Not even a minute later, our waitress reappeared, wearing the same clothes as before and not a spot on her. We got our check and headed out. I was definitely annoyed at the long wait times, which all seemed to do with our waitress being distracted. I don’t know if she was just having a bad day or what the cause was, but I was very disappointed in our experience here.

Cracker Barrel is my go to spot for breakfast on the weekend. Get there before 9:30 to avoid the wait, after that expect a line. Bea is usually at the front and she is very friendly and efficient with getting folks seated. I enjoy their pancakes, they are on my top three list of favorite pancakes!

What is there not to love about a Cracker Barrel?! I mean who doesn’t love down-home, good ol’ country style eats… just like grandmother used to make it. The food is always finger-lickin’ good and fresh at the Cracker Barrel. The menu is vast and there is a large selection(5 pages worth) of items and plates to choose from. This location is just like all the others I’ve been to and what I enjoy most is the consistency of the service and the quality of the eats. There is also a country store section in the waiting area where you can shop around for typical country store novelty items, homemade jellies, sauces, spices, cooking utensils, toys, clothing, etc. I stumbled on this location during our return trip from New York City during the Easter weekend. We were all starving while driving back and as soon I saw the exit sign for Cracker Barrel, I couldn’t help but to bust a right across three lanes of traffic to make sure we made the exit. The food is just that good and we were starving! On this particular Easter Sunday, I had one of the best plates of rib-eye steak, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash-browns, fried shrimp, hush puppies, any large garden salad! Yes! You heard me right! Don’t judge… I was a honorary member of «Team Greedy» that day! All of that food plus the free starter biscuits was just for me. I think I occupied about one-third of our entire table with all my food. Everything with fresh, hot and cooked to perfection. Great serving portions and everything, even down to the scrambled eggs was super seasoned. There’s not much more to say about the meal except for it was damn good. You can’t go wrong with Cracker Barrel in my opinion. Not to mention, the prices of the food items, at this location, were more than fair. This was a huge relief in comparison to breakfast food fare in NYC… Where the parking alone can run to $ 60 a day! There were a total of eight family members and friends at our table and our entire meal, including my smörgåsbord, came to only roughly $ 100 or so. So do the math. Where Else can you go and feed an small army of hungry folk for just a little over $ 100 bucks. Every type of meal that I’ve had from traditional biscuits and sausage gravy, grits, omelets … to what you would call the more elaborate dishes for this type of place… such as blackened salmon, shrimp linguini and lobster it is … ALL A-OK! So if you ever see one of these places on a highway food-exit marker, you better make that right turn off the road immediately and try for yourself. Cracker Barbell always gets a «Thumb up!» in my book! Haven’t had a bad meal yet!

I would drive 45 minutes to eat at a Cracker Barrel, the food is all comfort, great portions and affordable prices. They have maintained their price point but divided their meal sizes in half in many insrances. I have eaten at one other locations and it is the same. Is the food still enough? Yes. Would I eat there again? Yes. Would I drive 45 minutes. No.

This is our go to for lazy weekend breakfast. We usually call ahead and pick up our order to go. I absolutely loved the smell of wood and spiced apples that engulfs this country chain. I usually stick with the sunrise sampler — eggs, ham, bacon, buscuits, grits, gravy, apples, and don’t forget to request apple butter. You can even buy a jar to go. The french toast are made front sour dough which crisps up nicely — get a side if this. When dining in and feeling a little dehydrated I order the apple cider in the big frosty mug. I have tried some of the products sold in their store like their pie crust and filling for blackberry pie — the outcome was above average but nothing spectacular. Though there are usually long waits, the rocking chairs are always comfortable and it’s fun to browse the store as the merchandise changes periodically.

Cracker Barrel must be the McDonalds of comfort food chains. They’ve got pancakes, waffles, fried chicken and waffles, shrimp, grits, steak, fish, dumplings, mac n’ cheese, chicken pot pie etc. I have never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants. I didn’t say they were healthy, they are far from healthy but they are delicious. So if you are into the health and fitness lifestyle, turn around, get back in your car and drive somewhere else. You do not want to eat here. Breakfast comes with a basket of biscuits and corn muffins as a starter. Boy are they good! Fresh out of the oven and toasty warm. Today’s(or rather, yesterday’s) plate du jour was the Old Timers Breakfast, two eggs any style, turkey bacon, grits, and gravy. Yum. Cracker Barrel is not only a restaurant, it’s an old fashioned general store where you can get just about anything except car parts. They sell candy, games, toys, clothes, kitchen wares, home decorations, cards, books, cd’s, jewelry etc… The décor looks like you are stepping into a hoarders farmhouse complete with a fire place. Yes, every single Cracker Barrel I have stepped into is designed with the exact same layout. You walk into what you think is the restaurant only to give your name and number in party where you are put on a waiting list(well played Cracker Barrel) then you must wander the general store until you are tempted to open the trunk of your vehicle and pack the 4 rocking chairs you’ve just purchased. Once your name is called, you follow the host to your seat, past the big burning fire place, the checker board tables, and the other diners. You are given a small Chinese checker game to occupy yourselves until your food comes. The place is always busy and the menu is huge(one for Breakfast/one for Lunch & Dinner) so my suggestion is that you peruse those while waiting for your name to be called.

Cracker Barrel is a large-portions lovers dream come true. Because I changed my lifestyle a few years ago, I am very aware of calories and portion sizes. I don’t necessarily exclude items for my daily diet, but moreso just keeping a conscious tally of what I’m putting in my body is super important to me now. I feel like the Cracker Barrel kitchen staff don’t ever think about ways of cutting back on fat and grease lol. Butter, butter and more butter describes the breakfast. Even their ‘lighter’ menu is chock full of calories. But, if you know this, just don’t go there, right? Sometimes it’s a suggestion on your friends part where to have breakfast. So, you go and just try to make the best choices you can. Moderation is key. The food at CB is good. That’s part of the problem lol. You want to E-A-T. their pancakes are yummy, the country ham is the bomb and the hash is delish. The staff at this particular restaurant were ok, nothing special. The bathroom was slightly on the messy side also. The cashier was nice.

I truly believe everyone should experience Cracker Barrel at least once in their life. They’re all laid out the same exact way. The staff is always friendly to the point of being almost TOO sweet. The rocking chairs and big ass checkerboard outside are silly but something to look forward to. And the food… Oh the food. I dragged a friend here after she informed me she had never been. After battling lovely NJ traffic for close to 30 minutes, we finally made it to this location on our way home from Philly. Like I said, they all look the same so nothing different there. The menu, as always, offered a ton of unhealthy yet delicious options for around $ 11 each. They now offer a healthy menu: entrees under 600 cals with a choice of healthy sides! Since I’ve done the chicken n’ dumplins dance a million times before, I decided to go with the buttermilk baked chicken with fresh veggies and apple slices. Was the portion smaller than let’s say the fried chicken? Of course. Was it just as delicious? Absolutely! The chicken was perfectly cooked and moist and the veggies and apples were fresh. The staff was friendly, as always. I told my friend she would receive a drink refill without even asking and yep, she received one without saying a thing. They also don’t rush you, which is appreciated. The store was silly and lovely. This one offers a huge selection of lip balms and hand creams. They also had a few cute articles of clothing. Definitely not things you’d expect to see in a restaurant but this is Cracker Barrel. Also they’re close to the Turnpike so once you’re done, you can hop back on the road and go back to real life aka NY.

Had an excellent dinner here tonight. Almost everything was good. Desserts were awesome and big — glad we shared. Cocacola cake was the best. Not a fan of the meatloaf or ham. Very reasonable price … until my wife hit the gift shop at least. At least I get to rest on the rocking chairs and write this while I wait.

What can I say? It’s Breakfast, the easiest and most simple of the 3 meals. It was good, I love pecan pancakes and was so disappointed when IHOP took it off their menu, the brand of turkey bacon was very good, just could have used a little crisp or crunch to it and the frozen Cidar was refreshing. This meal was as good as a simple breakfast could get. Service was fast and efficient, I would recommend this location.

What’s not to love, you got great breakfast, filling lunch, dinner that can match any home cooked meal & a country store. Who could ask for anything more? Walking into a Cracker Barrel is like walking in your house. Everyone is always friendly & you rarely get poor service. The one thing i love the most is the fact that you can enter any Cracker Barrel is any city in every state & receive the same quality service & food. Kudos to corporate. Thank goodness they’re not franchised.

The ambience is great. Lots of funky cool décor on the walls. The staff is pretty nice, expectedly attentive, and drink orders came out quickly. The coffee was good, but there aren’t many options other than the basic flavor. I had raspberry lemonade and that was quite fabulous. The homemade biscuits and apple butter are to die for. The turkey sausage was also very good and the eggs with cheese were what you’d expect for eggs with cheese. I made a sandwich out of the biscuit, sausage and eggs with cheese. Awesome! On the downside, our food took a little longer to come out than I would have liked. The pancakes looked like they’d be delicious but were a bit cold. The butter I put on them did not even melt into the cake. My eggs were also a little cold, but they weren’t bad. I’ll chalk up the downside to them being crowded and very busy this Sunday morning. Though I wasn’t blown away I’d most certainly come again. Prices are more than reasonable for all that you get.

Not my best experience and I am a big fan usually. They forgot the biscuits, the gravy and the grits. My eggs were prepared wrong and the server while helpful was not generally pleasant. Being seated in 15 minutes on a Saturday at lunchtime was a plus.

I felt like I was on vacation in any state USA. Walked trough the gift shop to get to the restaurant. The restaurant? Tacky. Noise level? High school lunch room. The waiter was efficient and the Ice tea was good. That’s about where the ‘good’ stopped. The meal was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra and a cucumber salad. Really sounds yummy, doesn’t it. It was like eating a large TV dinner. Everything was pre-portioned out and mostly tasteless. The fried chicken was breaded with what seemed like a powdered breading. No crunchy and yummy or even fried. I dipped into the mashed potatoes and the whole glob lifted into the air on the end of my fork. The fried okra, well let me say, blaaaaa. The cucumber salad was small but OK. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the gravy. Could have wallpapered a wall with it. Not creamy. Probably won’t be back, just like all the folks eating there that are just driving through New Jersey.

Highly recommended especially if you’re traveling to this part of New Jersey. I came from the New York and I have never went to any places like this. It’s just like in the movies, old style, relaxing. The waitress was very polite and nice. The atmosphere and wall decorations were all very unique. I learned that this is actually a stock market chain. I hope one day they can come to NY.

Ever since I ate from a Cracker Barrel in Alabama back in 1996ish I was hooked. One of the things I missed most when I left Alabama to go back home to Philadelphia was Cracker Barrel and not my family.ooops. As years past I always spoke how great Cracker Barrel was and wished there was one up here in the North. I raved about the french toast and the cool store they have just before you enter the restaurant seating area. Well…A few years back, I found that they had opened a Cracker Barrel in my «back yard» in Mt. Laurel, NJ. I went bananas. I couldn’t wait !. I’ve hit this spot up over and over again. I drive a Lexus and not that i’m bragging but it couldn’t have been more perfect then have a Cracker Barrel next to a Lexus dealership so when I get service where do you think I have breakfast. I remember a time and it was about last fall that they served a special french toast that was Apple. remember me going bananas when they opened, well this time I went nuts for this. It was so great. I went back a few months later to get some more and I was upset hey took it off. If there are any Cracker Barrel reps reading this, you need to make that a staple on your menu… and PLEASE ! Anyhow, This place is great in Mt. Laurel. Not once have I gotten bad service. I always seem to get the«old timers», you get a little of everything. To me Cracker barrel is the best«chain» restaurant breakfast there is. I have one grip, to me the coffee isn’t the slightest good to me. It taste a little watery and weak. I don’t know maybe I like my coffee a bit stronger, little more bold. Everything about this place is concistant which is great even the coffee that I don’t like.

The breakfast is super good with their hickory ham the service is pretty decent and it doesn’t take long for the food to arrive at all. Mac and cheese with green beans is also really good. They have a pretty nifty gift shop, also prices are really cheap.

The inside has a very country style appeal. The store is a nice touch and either a great way to kill some time while waiting for a table or a nice thing to do after eating. Tried the slow roasted beef, which comes with the sides and biscuits all for just $ 10! The roast beef was a small portion, but just enough. For sides, I had the macaroni and cheese, which was creamy and delicious. The sweet potatoe was really soft and the brown sugar with melted butter made it taste like candy. Lastly, the rice pilaf was well-seasoned and flavorful I’m glad I had room for dessert. I decided to try the coca-cola chocolate cake. It was warm and accompanied by a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. This tasted like a homemade cake and it was light and rich with sweet amazing country kitchen taste! I would have given five stars if it weren’t for the two sets of dirty silver. Otherwise, great dinner!

Have been at this particular spot like 3 times, my last visit was disappointing but it was mostly due from the fact we went on New Year’s Day and it was swamped with large families. Service was very slow and they seemed to be faltering at everything on this day. Before this visit it would’ve received a 4 star rating, the foods delicious. Especially the biscuits with Apple butter spread! But this chain is mostly satisfying and should be considered if your in desire for some good morning eats.

Restaurant familial.
