This is the third place I’ve been to to have high tea, and it left me disappointed. For that price, I’m used to it including a quiche, fruit, dressing up and them taking a photo of you! …instead they basically give you a bunch of bread options to fill up on; their finger food sandwiches had very little filling. At least the staff was friendly.

I just love this place. I can’t think of any way it can improve. 1. There is a public parking lot right across the street 2. Allll of the employees are exceptional. My sister and I are both vegetarian, so we tend to have complicated orders. The staff is always very accommodating and so sweet! 3. The food is extremely delicious! The spinach and leek quiche is my favorite! The mashed potatoes are superb. Basically, I have yet to not love any item that I have tried. I had never heard about this place until a month or so ago, and now I have been twice in the past few weeks.

Went and had lunch my husband and I and the place was not THATBUSY at the time. Service was lacking, manager or owner not sure which kept pushing a chair at my table inward to get through to seat people(which by the way had my legs crunched because of it), there is another way on the other side of the room or the middle which had far more room to walk by. I don’t understand being inconvenienced when you clearly had other options to take and other ways to walk, the manager didn’t want to take any steps than necessary so she clearly has made an uphappy customer! Also the wait staff didn’t refill tea, took forever to get food. This place is NOT a cheap place, don’t waste your money here!

The presentation and authenticity are definitely the key features of the café. The food, however, like any British food, is not incredible at all. I ordered earl grey tea, but had to ask for milk. My salmon eggs benedikt were unexpectedly disappointing: there was barely any sause, which didn’t matter much to me, but when I cut into the egg, alas, it was hard boiled to the center(or is it a British way?!). Salmon cakes were tasty, but with the lack of sauce and runny yolks, dry. If you just order tea and scones, you’ll be ok, not sure for the rest of the items on the menu. Pretty place, good size pots, interesting tea cups.

The Windsor Rose should deff be the number 1 breakfast spot on Unilocal for Mount Dora. The food was very good. We had a party of four. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The coffee is exceptionally good when in my opinion most restaurants don’t have very good coffee. My wife and mother both got hot tea, and as expected for a tea room the tea was on point.

Lovely place but they were waaaay overbooked! The hustle and bustle is not what we expected for afternoon tea. Ordered the classic tea for two with finger sandwiches, scones, tea and cake. Very generous. Could easily serve four. Lovely tiered presentation but the very dry bread finger sandwiches had scant filling. Scones were warm and delicious. Cake had good flavor but dry as well. Tea was from bags not loose brew. Really cute décor. Server was harried. Might try again at a different time of day. We were there close to 1:00 on a Friday.

Beautiful place, like stepping into England. Cathy had beef and mushroom pie and Irene and I had the Sunday roast with potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, all delicious! May come back for a high tea sometime.

One of my favorite restaurants. The beef and mushroom pie is TODIEFOR paired with a nice sad salad. I always indulge and order a loaf of the ‘crusty bread’ because they bake it there fresh and it always comes out steamy and fluffy. Some of the best bread I’ve ever had. Just. Delicious. The waitresses are dressed up usually in old English garb which is nice for the immersion and the food comes out a steady pace. Not slowly, but not quick enough for a lunch break. This place is as authentic as it gets and my mom and I love to come here.

We had a delicious breakfast here. Eggs Benedict and blueberry pancakes. The décor is charming.

As a Brit I was hopeful that the food would be good firstly we did not get silverware so could not butter the bread that came with the soup but it got worse, I was very disappointed when I ordered a Cornish pasty and it was over seasoned with a herb that I have never had in a pasty EVER! That was not the bad part when I asked to change it I was told that was okay but that I would be charged for the original meal and a replacement meal I had the Whattttttt look on my face as you can imagine I was not impressed at all. So I had them take the food away as it was not edible with the seasoning and I would have been physically sick… So alas I went hungry hubby had the Cottage pie which was a better experience for sure… So I will not be back and will not recommend it either…

Reminiscent of England… loved it! The only thing missing is the clotted cream.

Always just fabulous. Had the salmon special for a late Sunday lunch and it was delightful. Both my husband and I enjoyed it. Excellent friendly service and wait staff. Highly recommended when visiting Mount Dora.

Outstanding breakfast. Service was acceptable, but not as good as the food. Modeately priced, and very tasty, you wont be unpleased by visiting here. We will definitely return. The lunch menu looks very interesting, as well as many more breakie dishes to try. Long live the Queen, and the Windsor Tea room.

Nice lunch in lovely setting. The food was very good and the service was great. Tea room is located in Mount Dora amongst several stores and other restaurants. Lovely area to stroll after lunch. Recommend.

Went in to escape the heat and became thoroughly enchanted. Wonderful décor, friendly staff and an extensive menu which unfortunately we didn’t sample, as it was late in the day and we had dinner reservations elsewhere. I was happy to see they served PG Tips tea. I’ve since become a tea aficionado, so I’m eager to visit this quaint tea room again to sample further offerings, as well as enjoy a proper«teatime».

This place is awesome. I was really impressed with their extensive tea menu. I mean there must have been over a hundred different types of tea. I had the quiche and it was small, but very well done. It came with toast, which was well, you know toast. The hash browns, were ok, but nothing special. The tea cups were nice bone china made in England. They were dainty, and didn’t really fit my big old paws, but hey, the place seems sort of girly. But if you love tea, want a nice elegant place to have a breakfast, or lunch, then this is the place to come. At least they don’t make you wear funky old hats when you are in here, so if you are a dude, you can at least salvage some of your manhood, whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea. By they way, they get really crowded, and they do take reservations. If you make a reservation, request the seat by the window so you can look outside.

Windsor tea Room –Great place with lots of British charm and character. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I ordered the Shepherd’s Pie topped with mashed potatoes. They call it Cottage Pie. My girlfriend had the Chicken Salad. Both dishes were delicious. We should have just split the Chicken Salad. It was huge and would have been perfect for the two of us. My Cottage Pie was full of ground beef, peas and gravy topped off with mashed potatoes. The Windsor Tea Room is a winner and part of many great restaurants in beautiful Mount Dora, Florida.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars from me is because their tea was great and the place was cute and comfortable. Besides that I wasn’t very impressed. First thing that went wrong was I asked for their English cream tea which comes with a pot of tea and a scone with jam, clotted cream and butter. I get the pot of tea but the scone never showed up. When I asked the waitress about this(which took a while because she ignored us most of the time and it took 15 – 20 minutes for her to show back up to our table) she said and I quote, «I thought you wanted actual cream tea not the cream tea on the menu.» Even if that statement made sense it’s not like my tea had cream mixed in it, it was simply a pot of tea. I was disappointed that the waitress didn’t know the menu. My friend and I then ordered the Cornish pasty with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. Unfortunately when we were served, the mashed potatoes were cold(I wasn’t the only person to complain about that since another patron across from my table also sent back her dish for the same reason). The filling for the Cornish pasty was dry and the meat was also dry and had absolutely no seasoning or salt in it. My friend mentioned how dry and bland his pasty was as well. It was so bad I didn’t finish it. Sorry but for over 12 dollars I would expect a better dish. I will say though that the gravy for the mashed potatoes had a good flavor profile once it was heated up. We finally get our check to see that our experience cost us 46 bucks! I knew immediately that wasn’t correct even if the pasty’s were on the expensive side. When I did the math I figured out it was only 30 dollars and change. Our waitress made some excuse about how she’s not the one who actually adds everything up but thankfully it was changed for us. Overall I will not be going again. Sure the tea was great and I haven’t tried the dessert which for all I know could be just as great but after that experience my curiosity isn’t enough to bring me back.

I was visiting my best friend from out of state and we decided to come to the Tea Room, despite the madness of the massive art fair in the area, for a taste of the classy life. The Windsor Rose did not disappoint. We each had a service of scones, finger sandwiches, tea(duh), jam, etc. It. Was. Awesome. We had so much fun pretending we had proper home trainin’ and that we belonged in such a quaint place. The walls are filled with British monarchy portraits, photographs, news clippings, and memorabilia. I love British history and I’m sure I bored my friend to death regaling her with anecdotes and historical factoids about the royals in the pictures. Next time I visit my friend, I can’t wait to come back here. I ordered my tea BEFORE I found the loooong list of teas from which to choose, so I have unfinished business at the Windsor Rose!
