Chaos Studio Salon

Had an appointment with Roya this morning to get my roots and highlights done; my hair is fan frickin tastic!!! I love love love it. I’m such a baby when it comes to my hair and she made it look exactly how I wanted it to be! She listened to me and asked me exactly what look I was looking for which was awesome!
The environment of the studio is very unique and very welcoming! I was laughing the entire time just at how personable and how comfortable everyone was including the clients! The chairs were comfy and everything was clean and well organized. The shampoo station was amazing; head massage included which was lovely! Good job Chelsea!
I have definitely found my new hair salon and I couldn’t be happier! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I had an appointment at Chaos for my engagement pictures. Services were: partial highlight, haircut, style, makeup. I walked into the salon, which has a super industrial/​steampunk/​bad ass vibe. My hairstylist was Jenn, she runs the place. One thing I noticed immediately is that the salon was busy, which is a great thing.
There’s a reason they are so busy. I told her I needed a fill in my highlights but she provided much more. Typically when I get my hair highlighted you can see the difference where the root was touched up and the rest of the hair. Not the case with Chaos. My root to tip was seamless as if I had never had a root touch up. I also had her style my hair and it lasted the entire evening (9 hours after appointment ended.)
Roya did my makeup. I have never had any makeup professionally applied before. She was quick and took my opinions and desires to heart. I had a natural look but you could tell I was still wearing makeup. She also provided me with a lipgloss I could keep!
I will be returning to Chaos for my wedding day preparation and I am very excited about it. Jenn’s assistant Matt also gave me the most amazing head massage when he washed my hair. This place is legit and will NOT let you walk out looking a hot mess. Also very affordable for the services they provide. Thank you Jenn, Matt and Roya! I can’t wait to share my pics with you!

I got a great cut and color from Roya. I went in for a trim and an ombré dye job, and ended up feeling unhappy with the color after I got home (not her fault, she still did a great job, there are just a lot of different interpretations of what «ombré» is) and ended up going back the next day. I was worried it was going to be awkward, but Roya was very gracious and kind (and fixed it for free), and now I absolutely love my hair! Probably the best cut I’ve had!

So here’s the real deal. Don’t go to Chaos if you’re looking for someone to tell you your crap cut and bad dye job looks OK. It’s not personal, but I knew immediately that I was not leaving that salon until I was an exceptional example of their work.
Go to chaos to get the best color and cut you’ve ever had! I’m not kidding. They really consult with you regarding what you want to accomplish, actually formulate your color, custom to your hairs current condition (including previous color), lifestyle and how much effort you want to put into maintenance (zero, for me).
I purchased a product, and exchanged it later with no hassle. I discussed my budget, and we worked out short term and long term plan to get where I wanted to be, and within my financial limits.
This isn’t Borics. You’re paying for quality. I really love what Jenn did with my hair!

I had Erica, I have been to a lot of salons and I have to say that I’ve had a lot of crappy stylist who didn’t listen to me but not at Chaos!!! I love my hair cut and all the people were great!

I have been looking for a salon with talented people for awhile, at Chaos I found exactly that! The second you walk in you feel at home.
My hair was in pretty bad shape and Roya listened and worked her magic! Not only did she give me perfect highlights she gave me the best cut, she now has a customer for life! Thanks Roya!

It’s really a 3 star service review, because they were wonderful and warm. It was just the quality of my eye lashes that will never have me coming back to Chaos. And the owner did ask me to take down my review afterwards,. so I would just be wary of the other 5 stars reviews that happened the day of my review and people that don’t usually review often. Unilocalers, you know what I’m talking about!
So yes– everyone is correct. This is a very cute salon. I couldn’t find any parking lot– so I parked on the street. They also don’t usually open in the morning and I think they open at 12pm most days.
Again, everyone was so nice. I love love lash extensions. I was so excited to buy a groupon and try out somewhere that is closer to my home. My prefer Russian lady is a little far for me, but now experiencing Chaos well worth it.
As an Ethic Asian woman, my eye shapes and eye lid are different. So I need a different approach to eye lashes. I usually love a more natural look. Most of the time, I’ve gotten eye lashes that were individual tailored to my eye length and shape. They only have 3 length here (short, medium, long) and they are already prepackaged. It looks like the fake eye lashes you would get from walgreens (which is find for that one day event or club scene) — but for an everyday wear.
My lashes were lapping over each other and they were uneven. I wasn’t very happy with them and I came back and the owner redid some of them for me. She cut them down, but in the end the quality didn’t match up to the salon to Con’s in Berkely. I looked like I was in college again and coming home from a walk of shame. I looked really trashy and I was flying out the next day to host a bridal shower. Unfortunately, these lashes were so overlapped and unnatural looking that I needed to get them removed when I made it back to Boston.
So– I will be going back to Con’s in Berkely bc this Russian lady is the best. I really wished I liked chaos — because the people really are sweet and the owner did everything she could do to fix it besides ripping them off. Again– the craftsmanship wasn’t there.

Chaos is just the cutest salon you’ll ever see. It’s quirky, it’s modern, it’s vintage, it’s eclectic, but somehow it works. Seriously. Go inside and you’ll see what I mean. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, the salon is clean, the atmosphere is great.
Erin is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and an amazing hairstylist. She really listens, and uses her extensive knowledge to come up with an incredible look. She’s one of the master stylists, and a Paul Mitchell educator, and that really shows in her work. I usually get nervous before doing anything to my hair, but sitting in her chair, I’m totally confident that I’ll leave with great hair.
I had an appointment with her this afternoon, and as always, my hair looks beautiful. The highlights she did are soft, noticeable, and really blend well with my base color. I’m in the process of growing out a messed up face frame (courtesy of another salon), and she has seamlessly blended the too short layers with the rest of my hair to give me the look I’ve been wanting for so long. Not to mention she gives a great shampoo.
While Erin is my go-​to-​gal (and will remain just that for years to come!) the rest of the girls do beautiful work and I would feel totally comfortable having any of them do my hair.
If you feel like breaking up with your current stylist, or just looking for somewhere else to go, give Chaos a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
side note — I usually park across the street in the metered parking lot, so make sure to bring change! :)

I am new to Mt. Clemens and my husband convinced me I should switch salons to boost the economy in our new neighborhood and spend our money where we now live. I went on-​line and searched for salons in Mt. Clemens. The website had me hooked — I went to every section, checked out the remodel photos and read the bios. I was delighted to see that Chaos is just as great in person. Erin cut my hair (I chose her because the site said she was a texture specialist) — she was ready for me right away, she was personable (no awkward silences) and brilliant! I’ve been wearing the same very short haircut for several months and she had some great input and ideas on how to keep it fresh and edgy. She walked me through the products she used and the different methods she was using to cut my hair and how that was going to provide the look I wanted. I not only got a great haircut, but a little education too. I’m proud to say Erin is my new go-​to girl! Great job to the owner on a beautiful, modern yet vintage remodel and for handpicking a great staff!

Ok, Jenn and ladies, I finally set up my Unilocal so I can write my brief review: AWESOME staff! Most of my visits have been last minute with barely 24 hours notice and they’ve always accommodated me. Great stylists & colorists. Love the new place (used to be the old shoe repair shop when I was a little girl) & how they’ve renovated it. Clean salon, friendly staff, great service.
