Los Potrillos

One of the challenging things about visiting somewhere is finding a good place to eat. Review sites such as Unilocal can certainly help with that — if there are actually people in the area adding reviews. Unfortunately in smaller, out-​of-​the-​way places, that does not always help, so we decided to go with Mexican, something that is not too difficult to get wrong. At least you get chips and salsa, right? Unfortunately, that was about as good as it would get.
It is not so much that the food was bad — it was perfectly acceptable, the price was reasonable, and the service was solid And to be fair, we were out in the middle of nowhere. But it probably is not a great idea to suggest Mount Airy, NC for good Mexican food. Charlotte may not be that great either, but at least you get a decent selection and can separate the good from the bad. Mount Airy? Not so much.
