This place delivers on what it advertises… Good variety of hot dogs, burgers, and«ballpark» type foods. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly and quick. Atmosphere is cozy and sports bar-ish. Decent selection of beers, and they had food specials on some nights. Can’t really complain about any of that! Great for kids, you can draw with chalk on the tables… Lots of families there taking advantage of burger night($ 5.50 on Tuesdays). There wasn’t an open table in the place when we were there. Worth a stop if you’re looking to change it up!

Food is great! Staff is great!!! My favorite is the chicken breast sandwich. It’s always juicy and cooked perfectly.

I really really want to like this place but I just can’t bring myself to it. I love the idea of supporting a local establishment so I have been several times, and tried several things on the menu — all of which have left me SO disappointed! The hotdogs are clearly boiled and the buns cheap, definitely reminiscent of bad cafeteria food. Everything labeled cheese on the menu is just covered in canned cheese sauce which has no real flavor. Last night we ordered a few items to-go, a cheeseburger sub and pretzel bites and could not believe how bad everything was. When I pulled the sub out of the bag I remarked that it felt pretty light for it’s size and when my husband opened it up he realized it was just a thin, sad burger cut in half with mostly lettuce and bun. The pretzel bites were almost worse? They were just a pretzel bun cut into strips and more canned cheese sauce. We wondered if this was the norm or maybe a quick fix if they were out of actual pretzel bites? My husband walked around all night calling them«ghetto bites». My fingers are crossed the owner reads the poor reviews on here and does something about it. If they just improve the quality of the food and have some real cooking on it could be such a great spot we locals could be proud of!

I loved the fries. They use real potatoes and some added spice to them, and you get plenty of them. Also, the cheese steak was great. I would recommend them if you’re in the area.

Absolutely loved my meal here. Staff was friendly and fantastic and the food came out quickly. We had everything from their chili dogs to their crabby dogs. All the food was hot and fresh. I can personally say that the chili was some of the best I’ve ever had. Really looking forward to my next visit. Hot dog lovers paradise.

Good place to eat. Food is always good. Service is always the problem, very slow. Would eat here more often is I knew I could get out in under an hour for fries and two dogs. It really shouldn’t take that long.

AWESOME! The price is right! Food is spectacular! Been there dozens of times! Fries are great! Home made chips are super! Burgers are full of flavor thick and juicy!!! Steak subs are good! Shakes are great! Staff is super nice and welcoming! Never had an issue with anything! Update These folks are all about their customers! We did actually have an issue once, but only once(so minor i forget what it was) and they gave us a $ 5.00 coupon for it. Excellent customer service and the way it should be! Also delicious crab dip and dogs! I just cant stop thinking about how good everything is!

For what it is, a small beer and hot dog place, it does well. Got the pretzel bites, which were nice and soft(but probably not homemade). The Crabby Dog was a good MD signature dish. Nothing special. Just slapped some crab dip on a hot dog. Prices weren’t bad, and if I’m ever craving a hot dog, it’s probably where I would go!

Excellent burgers and the crab dip with pretzel bites was delicious. Hand cut fries and onion rings were fantastic also. Highly recommended.

Went in for the half price berger night. You get an inferior version of their bergers. Smaller, plainer and cheeper. Come on! Your specials are a rip off! Prices are a too high. Not a place to take a family with a couple kids, for sure. Go so 7– 11. Better quality hotdog, drink and price.

Great place, great prices. Needs some work on the services, they are kinda slow, but I would hate to see this place close down. I love love love their chili cheese dog!!!

They really need to invest in some quality hot dogs instead of using what tastes and has the texture of boiled Vienna sausages. Save your money and get a hot dog at Costco.

A friend and myself tried Crying Johnnies on Veterans Day Tuesday for lunch. Cute little establishment. Service was prompt as was the order coming out. I had a Chicago Dog and chili cheese fries. The fries were very good with ample toppings. The hot dog was a disappointment though. I think it was boiled in water and was only warm, not hot. Basically watery tasting too. Maybe if it were grilled or even deep fried it would have had some pizazz. I hear the sandwiches are very good, I will try them before making a decision whether to go back or not.

Accidentally stumbled onto this place while walking around historic Mt Airy. Loved the warmth and feeling of permanence that the interior delivered. Not like the sterile designs or fake hipster feel of most restaurants today. They serve good old fashion hot dogs. No designer or fusion dogs here(thank God). The waitress was pleasant and knew her menu. Placed my order for fries with gravy, chili dog and cold beer. Was so good I ordered the junkyard dog. Great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Will keep going back.

We took a little family trip out to see this part of Maryland and man are we ever glad we found this place! The kids loved the food so much they started crying! Not really but my son went through two hot dogs and our five yr old was thrilled at the generous offering of applesauce. My husband said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever had and he would be an experto supremo. He used to work for USDA and grew up in cattle country. I had a bite and I am definitely ordering one next time. My Chicago dog had me smiling — it’s one of my favorites. We’ll surely make the drive and stop in again. We will also look for one of those crazy beer shakes too! I love this kind of town, these kinds of places and nice folks like the staff and owners. Keep on keepin’ on…

I came for a dog. Today, I got a whole lot more. I ordered a classic Chicago dog. It was tasty. For a place you would come to enjoy a good dog, you need to check out some of the other items they offer. Let’s talk about the vanilla milkshake I had today. Now, I’m not a milkshake kind of guy, per se. What peaked my curiosity was the milkshake would be prepared with vanilla ice cream and beer rather then milk. I’m not talking any ol’ brew. It was the Sweet Baby Jesus, chocolate peanut butter porter, from the DuClaw Brewing Company of Baltimore. I asked the waitress about it. She said I should give it a go. What did I think of it? It was weird; it was funky; it was awesome! I was in shock. The beer itself was really good. Mixed into a shake? It was the best shake I’ve ever had. It’s a grown up shake! Also offered, a raspberry wheat ale(can’t remember the brewer). Maybe next time. I can tell you this, they should really expand on this theme. Sure the hot dogs are tasty. But this type of funky food fusion is what makes me want to write a review and tell others about a place. I would love to see other(local beer) combinations on their menu. Maybe beans and franks with some Cocoa Fuego chocolate chipotle stout?(also from the DuClaw Brewing Company). Go there. Do it. Tell a friend.

Family friendly restaurant that offers a variety of creative hotdogs and has plenty if non hot dog options to choose from as well. Space can be tight during peek hours but they have some outdoor seating if the weather is nice enough. Very reasonable prices.

I really wanted to love this place because the idea is fantastic, but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations. I mean, come on, how can you mess up hot dogs? I had the Chicago style, my favorite kind of dog, and if it had been a touch colder I would have been forced to send it back! Who wants to do that? The dog was barely cooked(luckily hot dogs are fully cooked when produced). Almost too heavy-handed on the toppings, something about them was just not appetizing. My husband had the double on the run burger, and was unhappy with the lack of flavor and the excess grease. He had to eat it without the bun because the grease dissolved the bun. Would not recommend the burger. If there is one other thing that should be good at a hot dog place, it should be a hamburger. But when a place that specializes in hot dogs makes a barely passable one, avoid the rest of the menu. Darn it! I don’t think I will ever even go back:-(

Great quality good tasting dogs. You either order at the counter or find a seat. The service didn’t seem polished. We sat at a table after standing at the counter for awhile wondering what we were supposed to do. Then it took awhile to place our order. After eating the waitress didn’t come back? There is no check left at the table. You go back up to the counter and they process your order there??/Weird. Anyway. the food is good enough to return. The place is extremely small and it can be very crowded

I’ve been here twice already with my family and everything was amazing! Great atmosphere, great food, reasonable prices! I ordered a cheeseburger both times and I’m declaring the burgers better than Five Guys! My husband had the Crabby Dog and loved it and my son had a naked dog and loved it. We all split the fries because they are that large. We’ve already raved about this place to our friends and family… Will definitely be back!
