The crab was pretty damn good. The clam chowder was bomb. Let’s talk about the Halibut fish and chips. The meat was fluffy and good, the breading was thick and crispy. I liked it. The portion is huge! The atmosphere was really nice. So why only 3 stars? The service mostly. The cashier didn’t know enough of the menu or tried to find out for me. They deliver the food and you never see them again. If you need something you have to get up and get it. The«malt vinegar» seemed watered down. I kept pouring it on the fish and chips and could not really taste it. Bring your own malt vinegar lol

So we call Phil’s snack shack Jack Nicholson because of the 5 easy pieces reference. They have all the ingredients to make something you ask for but the answer is always«NO». First time my friend wanted a breakfast sandwich, it was after 10:30. We can see the bread, we know they make breakfast burritos ALLDAY. Can’t get them to slap it on a piece of bread instead of a tortilla. Today I asked if they made patty melts. They make reuben’s. I can see on the board they carry rye bread, swiss cheese and they make hamburgers. NO. Cook doesn’t want to put a hamburger on sliced bread. (the hold the chicken from 5 easy pieces)

4 stars for the food, 1 for the cashier. She was super rude, condescending, and just very unfriendly. She yelled at other customers and talked down to almost everyone in our group. I did not catch her name but, she was a dirty blonde with glasses, 50ish. Customers beware. The food is great, as are the prices.

The ingredients always taste fresh, I would not recommend going in for lunch if you only have thirty minutes considering it took 18 minutes to cook a burger medium which happened to come out well done. The blonde lady can be rude but who cares it’s not a fine dining experience

Stopped in for end of day treat for fresh seafood for a family of 5. There is little parking in designated lot. The rest is parallel along small street that leads to a dock, I presume. Very busy as we had to walk quite a ways. Stood in a line that reached beyond the front entrance. Kind of confusing for those whom have never been. Waited in line for at least 45 min until I got the bright idea to just call my order in and waited at a table. The line passes a bar, where a popular shrimp like bloody mary drink was served. It was good but tasted like a watered down bloody mary. The meal proportions were huge as my total came to over $ 100 for 5 fish n chips w 3 drinks. Kids and I could’ve settled with the kid-friendly version. My fries were forgotten, but I didn’t complain about it since I could only eat 2 of the 5 fish pieces and cole slaw. We ordered clam chowder to go and that was truly the bomb. Would go back for the soup alone, but call in first.

Very very casual dining. The food had lots of flavor I was impressed! For the price you pay your portions are large. The servers are very nice! My only complaint is the cashier taking your order! From the very start before you even order she is Extremely rude! I assumed she had a bad day but wow! I would have given a 4 star but customer service is important!

Just had to have a burger, and there they were! I had the Martin burger, half beef and half chorizo. Great burger on a fresh bun with all the fixins. Kathi had the jalapeño burger with everything and it also was great. Ordered the macaroni salad for the first time in my life. It was awesome! When you get plenty of napkins cause you are gona need them. Staff was friendly and curtious.

Not a fan — food isn’t great and service was INCREDIBLY rude. For some reason they can’t make a burger without a bun — and are not willing to help out or accommodate people with allergies. Not willing and extremely rude about it — I don’t recommend to anyone.

MUCH better! Staff working there now is really nice. Updated décor and clean now! The jalapeño burger was just as tasty as before. Now I’m going to go there more often and try other menu items If you read other reviews talking about the mean girl there(whom I call the Beast) disregard. She is gone

This was the perfect spot to stop in for a quick bite after going through Elkhorn Slough. They had plenty of outdoor(and inside a screened porch) seating, a nice selection of chips and bagged drinks, and very friendly staff. The red snapper sandwich I got was really tasty — the fish was fresh, nicely battered and fried, and I enjoyed the coolness of the lettuce, tomato, and onion on top. Nice price for a quick and easy stop. Will definitely be back!

Really disappointing… Waited 90 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant for unimpressive food cooked poorly. The sign on the door cautions that«this is not the place for fast food, but rather real food.» I agree with the sentiment, but a burger that takes 90 minutes is not necessarily better than one that takes 10 – 15, and if you say it will take 30 – 40 minutes to get a couple of burgers and a grilled cheese, you should deliver on that, rather than taking 3x the time for basic fare.

The Food was just okay. Long wait for the food. we were chased out by the owner because we parked our boat in the main parking lot… Extremely rude and unprofessional. Hello Moss landing is a fishing town! Anyhow I’ll never be back to spend my hard earned money in that Dump!

You know what really grinds my gears? People that have an extremely minor problem with a server and rate a place low even though they say the food is decent. Never has that changed my view on a place and it certainly didnt here. Saw the reviews of this place, didnt care, tried it, couldnt be happier. My 3 year old was pumped on his hot dog, but thats a given. Today I got the sand dab sandwich, came out with hot, just fried sand dabs between 2 large pieces of grilled sourdough with some fresh tomato, crisp lettuce and red onion with some pretty good tartar sauce on it. The servers were nice I thought, I didnt notice any«mean mugging» or anything else, but then again Im not there to make friends so I didnt pay much attention. Ordered, made a little small talk, the lady at the counter made my boy smile a bit, then went and sat down. The food came out about 8 minutes later, about how long I wouldve expected for fresh sand dabs to be breaded, fried the built into a sandwich. It was really pretty good. Sand dabs are a mild fish and they worked perfectly in this sandwich. Pretty big portion for the $ 6.50 or so I payed for it. I left happy and full, dropping a couple bucks in the tip jar on they way out. I cant say much for the burgers, other sandwiches potato salad, etc, because I order SEAFOOD when Im in a COASTALFISHINGTOWN. They do it right here, just as a little hole in the wall shack should, certainly not«bland». Just dont come here expecting to get some fancy shoes meal, youre no princess. If I find myself 8 miles south from my house on 1 I will stop again.

So apparently my old review is going to be removed because I didn’t specifically review the food. So I will reiterate what I reviewed before but with better detail. And a lower star rating because the company most likely requested my old review removed. Upon visiting Phil’s fish market, we found it to crowded and thought we could settle for Phil’s fish shack. That was our first mistake. Ordering out food went ok the cashier woman was not very nice at all. Her first words being«what do you want?» So we all ordered what we thought to be decent food. Burgers, a sandwich and potatoes salads. The server brought half our order out at first, expecting more food we waited and waited then eventually asked where the rest of our food was and the server thought we were messing with her. Was she high? Because she sure laughed a lot for no apparent reason. After finally receiving the rest of our food we could start eating. Right away all three of us noticed the food was very bland. Meaning all the food tastes like one single taste. Why does every ingredient taste exactly the same. Has it been sitting for forever? Bad ingredients? Horrible cooking skills? Who knows. Needless to say we took advantage of the condiments provided in excess to even bare eating this food. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience, bad food, bad service, and the location literally wreaks of rotting fish. Not their fault but kinda since they built this establishment next to a harbor. Please take this review seriously, as I think this establishment has more potential than it currently puts forth. Thanks

The Heinz ketchup, ocean spray cranberry juice, and everything else that didn’t come from the kitchen was good. They do this potato salad that tastes impressively bland. They really captured the flavour of the potato. Everything sucks. Feed the cat.

Ordered two turkey sandwiches here and the woman behind the counter was mean mugging my boyfriend and I for absolutely no reason. When the sandwiches were ready she basically tossed them at us. Use too come here all the time when I was younger and really enjoyed it then but definetly didn’t remember her being there. Sandwiches could have been better, if she didn’t just throw everything together like she didn’t give a crap.

Came in today for a quick breakfast and wanted to try one of the breakfast burritos. This is my first time here so I looked all over on their menus above the deli case and behind the counter but I didn’t see anything like that offered today. After I ordered my plate I walked into their dinning room and saw 2 guys eating breakfast burritos, I guess I should have asked? I went with their breakfast plate that came with 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast. I got the rye toast which was nice marbled rye. They weren’t real hash browns, it was a frozen pre shaped hash brown. You get your basic sausage paddy. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were way over cooked, almost burnt and hard in the middle, no yolk for that nice toast. I was bummed. Doubt I’ll be back anytime soon. Maybe when they get someone who knows how to cook eggs properly.

I’ve been going here off and on for over 10 years. Less and less recently because of the quality of the sandwiches. I love marbled rye bread but it always seem to be stale and dry. Today when I found out the egg salad was not fresh I ordered a roast beef with cheddar cheese on sourdough bread figuring that’s usually the most popular bread and it would be fresh. Not only was the bread stale and the crusts chewy and hard, but it wasn’t even roast beef! I think it was ham, probably ham. I was back on the road by the time I discovered this so I wasn’t going to take it back. They use shredded lettuce too which does not work when you’re trying to drive and eat. I forgot to ask if it was leaf or shredded since it just doesn’t work for me. I think the lettuce looked a little old too… Ew.
