Super Cup

I love a coffee shop with personality, this place is unique. It’s an old fashioned coffee shop where your first choice should be «black,» as opposed to a Starbucks half-​caff/​half decaff soy milk tall almond latte. I’m pretty sure the latter order would earn you bemused disdain. I came here in a purple suit with matching hat and shoes, and the owner acted like this sort of outfit walks in every day. In fact, the place caters to local regulars, but idiosyncratic personalities are always welcome. A stone’s throw from the train station, this turned out to be a good place to wait to meet some others going to a Northwestern football game, though not a great place to get some work done. I was able to set up comfortably and plug in my netbook computer, but there was too much distracting and interesting banter going on to get any serious work done, it’s just not that kind of place. It’s decorated with, well either collectibles or junk, depending on how you see these things, I think this was one of my best caffeine experiences of the decade.

Well Bill, the owner is pretty much one of my favorite people on the planet. He is very silly and knowledgable. Quite the perfect personality to run a coffee shop. He keeps his guests happy. He loves superman. He’s great to kids. Sometimes my daughter stops over with my mom or I on her way. He didn’t have any chocolate donuts left for her with sprinkles. so he totally sliced the vanilla one and put Nutella in the middle! Who would have thought. My daughter loves going there to see Bill and have her donut or bagel and talk to the patrons. Great place. I only wish they were open longer hours. :D

Nice people and good hangout for seniors but not the spot if you love good coffee. Definitely not for espresso drinks.

I stopped in last minute for a cup of coffee. I was on my way to work & cutting through the Morton Grove neighborhood & came across this little gem! Was a good cup of coffee with cream! There were a couple of locals hanging around. Everyone was really friendly! There is espresso drinks with all flavors available. I saw wrapped muffins. He gave me a card to come back for a discount on my next cup of coffee. I will use it!

The old lady and I decided to stop in here for a cup of Joe. Well, I got the coffee, she ordered the vanilla latte. Both were pretty darn good. The coffee alone will have me coming back. The atmosphere is welcoming. Definitely a local feel. For being so early, Bill was friendly and funny. Solid sense of humor. There is something refreshing about About walking into a place like this. Service with a smile. Espresso made by an at home espresso maker (with a water well). Foam made by whisk-​like hand operated former. Local coffee beans used. I’d skip the espresso drinks here. Maybe just stick with coffee. Another customer requested cream and was given a container of powdered non-​dairy creamer. So, maybe not my super cup of coffee.
There were a bunch of seniors hanging out and enjoying themselves here. Seems like a lovely place for some, just not me.

First time visit while I was out for a walk. I met Bill who introduced me to everyone who was in having coffee. Excellent coffee great company. I’ll be back

Very nice, clean, friendly atmosfere at this Super cup coffee. Great prices on great coffee, teas and a few other thinks you can have for brekfast. Bill, the owner makes sure you feel like home with his nice jokes, smile and free refills. You can study, play chess, read a book, use your laptop… talk to other cosumers. I like here more than at Starbucks. Silvia S

While waiting for my flight home to NC we spent some time in the Chicago ‘burbs’ running errands and killing time. We were looking for some coffee to warm ourselves up (since it had been snowing in the morning) and we came across this small place after reading some Unilocal reviews.
It actually felt like we were going to someone’s house, but the coffee place was located at the end of a neighborhood street in Skokie and after parking and walking up, we realized we were in a local hangout since there were about 4 – 5 older gentlemen that looked up at us when we walked through the door (stopped their conversation).
The owner was super nice and made us our coffees. Definitely had a lot of personality and made sure we were happy with our coffee.
After walking in and seeing all the Superman memorabilia, the name of the place made total sense. This place was very small and local, but a good stop none-​the-​less. You could tell how safe the neighborhood was since the owner’s keys were still in the doorknob outside. :)

Great mom and pop coffee shop! Yummy snacks, great coffee and a treat for my dogs!

Super Cup is a Morton Grove treasure. Excellent coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with a smile (or a wise-​crack from Billy). The shop’s great prices and great atmosphere bring in lots of regulars, both old and young.
Feel free to bring your own travel mug if you want to take your drink with you. Or you could bring your laptop and hang out, I think Super Cup has free wi-​fi.

A nice neighborhood spot to read the paper and talk with friends over coffee, tea (and pastry if your diet allows). While all the construction on Lincoln Avenue will make the street more user friendly, let’s be sure to keep stopping by and make sure, small locally owned businesses… stay in business! Time for a Super Cup visit right now!

3 years ago my husband moved here from the UK. Shortly after moving here, one day he told me he found a nice, independent coffee shop near the train station where people sat for hours arguing about politics. He continued to frequent this coffee shop and now it is his place where everybody knows his name.
The coffee is good and the shop also has a good selection of tea. But the best thing about this shop is that it is run by a real person — not a corporate policy manual. Customers here experience service that is backed up with genuine friendliness and pride that only an independent owner can offer.

Sure, the owner lives across the street from me, but he makes it easy for all his customers to become regulars with friendly service and witty conversation.
On your first visit to the shop, Bill will give you your first cup for $ 1. That includes lattes and such. I’m a cup of regular and a donut kind of guy myself. Stop in on your way to the Metra station, but don’t take the last double-​chocolate donut or I’ll hunt you down.

I went here for java in the wake of Starbucks overload — it’s off the beaten path (in fact, across the street from the excellent Pequod’s Pizza). When I called to find out the hours, the owner told me they close on weekdays at 2 pm (I was calling at 1:55). But he then told me that, if I required some coffee, he’d be willing to stay open later for me to come pick it up. Wow — hurray for customer service!
I actually went there a different day. They’re a stone’s throw away from the Morton Grove metra station. I ordered a caramel macchiato… before I paid for it, the owner gave it to me and asked me to taste it to see if there was enough caramel. (He also filled my toddler’s sippy cup with milk, twice, for free!) As you might guess, I rate Super Cup high for personalized service. Prices are reasonable (my large was $ 3.75); they also have a limited menu of breakfast items.
It’s a small place — maybe 6 – 7 small tables. That day, they were occupied by a group comprised of seniors (clearly regulars) having a spirited discussion about politics and war. Don’t know if this is a daily thing, but this seems like a good place for coffee and conversation. Several people, including the owner, were friendly and conversational.
