I will make this clear right off the bat: I am not a horse owner but my sister is and she keeps her horse at Glenview. I tagged along with her to check it out as I was curious what life was like out on the sprawling 192 acre farm filled with horses. The farm is actually full up at the time of this writing, and I understand why: it’s a VERY good option for horse owners. Apparently the farm was once owned by the Frich’s family, the ones who would later go on to start the popular diner all over the Cincinnati area. The horses are kept outdoors most of the time as to facilitate a more natural lifestyle; the sun, the grass and the fresh air with room to move around seemed to make the horses happy and every single one I saw appeared at ease and healthy. Some of them were even resting in the grass only to raise their heads to give me a look and stand up when we approached the fence. A few were adventurous enough to come over and give me a sniff and it was nice to pet them. The property is nicely set up. The farm is gated with an individual passcode given to each member for added security and there appears to be ample parking. There’s storage for trailers on site which is very helpful, and the barns are close to the parking area and separate both an impressive indoor and outdoor arena for riding and training. A full racetrack lies further out beyond a pasture of rolling hills(it’s gorgeous) filled with grazing, relaxing horses, and a little pond where members are allowed to fish sits just beside the entrance. It’s incredibly quiet on the farm with a very tranquil atmosphere about it. Another set of fenced pastures lie beyond the lake with a footpath separating the two. The owner of the farm actually lives on the property which is super nice for weather related emergencies and overall safety and security. The farm offers full care so members aren’t required to be there every single day if they have other commitments as well. According to my sister, it’s extremely affordable for full care compared to other barns around this area. There are a few things Glenview is doing that I think makes them unique. Firstly, they don’t pile manure like a lot of other places do, instead opting to grind it up and distribute it back onto the land for fertilizing the soil. Secondly, they are energy conscious and have solar panels to power the security gate at the front of the farm. And thirdly, the thing I think is most important, the farm caters to a variety of riders; it meets the needs of English and Western riders alike and doesn’t cater to one or the other. Between the massive indoor and outdoor arenas to the impressive racetrack to all the fenced pastures to the cozy and clean barns, Glenview is a wonderful option for owners who need to stable their horse. My sister has been there for awhile now and loves it and I can definitely see why.

DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA… Constant bickering and fighting. Unfortunately, there’s not much good to say about this farm. I have been a boarder at this farm for several months now and while it’s a beautiful horse facility the property manager lacks any type of business sense and decorum. She feels free to use profanity very freely while attacking boarders accusing them of things that have not happened. Her lack of basic horse knowledge is shocking including not being aware of Coggins and Potomac virus. Any boarder who exhibits knowledge of horses and horse management WILL be run off the farm.
