Waves Wine Bar

So great!!! I can’t recommend this awesome little wine bar enough. The owners go above and beyond with their customer service and attention to detail. Can’t wait to go back.

What an absolutely charming place! Stopped in Morro Bay and found this wine bar and we were so glad did. Had the cheese platter and wine… came with 3 wine samples for 15.00…what a great price! Loved the décor and the owner was so friendly I felt I was at friends home. I was sorry we could stay longer because she was going to have live entertainment but we had to head home… seriously can’t wait to go back!

Very nice new spot – clean décor, and the owners are just very friendly, helpful folks. Definitely stop in.

What a fantastic place!
My husband and I were visiting Morro Bay a few weeks ago and saw this cute little place.
The owners were so friendly and very hospitable and also very knowledgable about all of the wines we tried.
We hung out here for several hours and it felt like we were with family.
Also towards the end of the night we tried to get a taxi back to our hotel but none seemed to be running in the area. The owners were so generous that they gave us a ride back after they closed up.
This was definitely above and beyond anything we would have expected and we were so grateful!
We will without a doubt return here on our next visit to Morro Bay!!!

I am so excited to be going back to this wine bar this weekend! I had such a great time there with the owners. Pricing is very affordable and the atmosphere is so relaxing yet full of energy. Great place to have a nice glass of wine with old friends or new!

Greg and Cathy are the best, and this place is an excellent stop in Morro Bay! The room is clean and classy with a touch of beach whimsy, and the wine list is filled with both local selections and international gems. Cathy is a font of knowledge about the wines, and yet still manages to strike you as down to earth and easy going. Feels like talking to your girl friend about a wine… that is if your girl friend could tell you the exact blend of the grapes in each bottle, backstory on the wineries, and nuanced tasting notes. I noticed on the boards that they host live music (acoustic) and offered neat packages like both cheese and chocolate pairing flights that sounded delish. If you aren’t the wine drinker in the group, they even have a handful of beers to keep everyone smiling.
To top it all off, these folks are really lovely and hospitable. When they heard we were celebrating our engagement that weekend, they brought out a bottle of sparkling wine on the house and did a toast with us. Turns out they were about to celebrate their 20^th wedding anniversary too! We feel like we found a great spot and some new friends in Morro Bay.

The owners are so fun to chat with and hung out with us while we drank a couple of bottles. I so appreciate a small business with good service and where I don’t feel intimidated upon walking in. It’s homey but cute and fun! I would recommend this to anyone walking the Morro Bay strip!

My husband and I were traveling up highway 1 and found a hotel here in Morro Bay. The whole town is enchanting, with GORGEOUS sunsets. I had never heard of it before, being from the Midwest. We had dinner and then wandered down to Waves Wine Bar. The atmosphere was great with a live and talented musician. The owners were wonderful and welcoming, sharing their favorite wines and drawing us into conversation. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and only wish that we had more time to spend here or that we lived closer! I strongly recommend this place!

My husband and I were lucky enough to run across this place over the weekend, and it was such a treat! This place hasn’t even been open for a full month yet, but the owners are really getting into the swing of things — they are so welcoming, and they really make you feel as though you’re just chatting with a friend when you hang out with them. They have a great selection of wines, both local and foreign, and their snacks are tasty too. If you happen to be in Morro Bay, stop in for a glass and a bite, and some good conversation. And if you want to REALLY do yourself a favor, have the cheesecake, and a glass of chablis — it’s a winning combination.

Enjoyed a wine tasting and beautiful meat and cheese plate at Waves. Owners are very fun to visit with and very knowledgeable about wine. Fun atmosphere to stop in even if you are by yourself or for a nice dessert wine after dinner. Will definitely stop by when we are at Morro Bay. They are in the breezeway across from the Carousel shop and Jerky shop. Nice music and conversation place…

This is a great new wine bar right near the waterfront. Owners were very nice and they had a nice assortment of wines. Comfortable atmosphere too. It’s a bit hard to find — they are halfway between the street and the water. Look for the tiny sign with sea shells around it out by the street. Well worth it. They serve snacks too but we didn’t try any.

This is a brand new wine bar with a wonderful owner who not only has a lot of wine knowledge but is very personable! Love this place, every time we come to Morro Bay we will definitely stop here.
